I attended my third M.U.N yesterday and for the past 2 times i didn't win anything but with help from KZread I became best delegate in UNHRC on topic death penalty, my portfolio was BRAZIL and I am super glad 😊😊....

I am very nervous on whether should I participate or not because it's my first time in debate if you are seeing this please cheer me up in comments it would be helpful ❤

I just got home from it and it actually went way better than I expected, though everyone was competitive they were also supportive, I was super worried they'd shun me for being a novice but they all recognized my ideas and I was super glad that I got through it alright!

@@directionerforlife6368 The 3day MUN was awesome. I enrolled in the DISEC committee. The 1st day was just a day for observation alone. I didn't speak much on the agenda. I represented Poland on the topic Bioterrorism. GSL, Moderated caucuses, Unmoderated caucuses, Voting... All the procedures were really awesome to experience. Other delegates were really humble enough to help me there. As Poland, the Russian & USA block tried hard to lobby for Poland's support in the Ukrainian war. But i sided with Russia & supported for Peaceful use of Bioweapons to serve the humanity & also use it as a deterrent instead of siding with USA who wanted complete ban on Development of Bioweapons. A lot more happened there... Made many friends I also participated in my 2nd MUN- AIPPM(All india political party meet) committee & it was really different from the DISEC. I noticed that I had more courage to speak in the debate. MUN is awesome

@@tanishajehanzeb2571 yea ! so first dont be shy nobody is gonna care . so we were talking abt the economic crisis and this confident guy told laos is more important than sri lanka ! obviously tats out of topic but it made him popular ! l am not telling you to give wrong info jus be confident in what you have to tell second have everything in soft copy - sometimes u dont have a chance to speak so they ask you to mail ur speach , i had it in hand and i had to type everything during lunch 😥 third make friends during break . know who is the most influential one and be in good terms with them . i was ukraine and i found it hard to fit with the influential ones . fourth take screenshots of important info and make a folder and save it . your not allowed to use internet so it will be super useful. fifth know the terms . if you dont know the terms to adress then you will not be given a chance sixth know how to draft a resolution seventh pay attention to others if they by any means offend ur countrys ideals stand up and defend but keep in mind always be kind l hope i helped you ! and all the very best 👍🏻👍🏻your gonna do jus fine go and have fun !

Actually, I signed up for it anyway even though I was super terrified, I thought it would be worse to regret not doing something than to regret doing it. And you’re right! It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. In fact, it was a really fun and enriching experience and it makes me want to participate in more MUNs in the future. :D
