They actually don’t show setcounts. All they show is # of losses and who those losses were against, which means very little considering it doesn’t tell us # of non-PGR wins

5-12 vs top 50, non pgr probably throws it off too. Theres probably more tourneys not shown where results overall were not the best. Mightve placed lower if x factor wasn't as high.

Really inspiring how there are kids in my region around my age who go to highschool, travel around the continent, keep up with daily stuggles and can become a top 50 player in the best selling fighting game of all time. Not only that but paving the way for otherwise underplayed characters. Amazing job Riddles, go Canada!

I think it boils down to the fact that EU tournaments don't qualify for higher tier events enough, something practical tas said he was going to fix for next season

Interesting. I like the graphic cards, good job as usual.

It’s crazy bc so many of these players have an insane X factor and really good peaks. SSBU is stacked for season 3, truly and for real

It's nice seeing new characters on the PGR like Yoshi and Ice Climbers! I love how fairly balanced Ultimate is for a game with over 70 characters in it

When I only attention to Japanese player, it is strange that Ron is ranked 50, but kept and shogun isn't ranked. Apparently, PGR prefer player don't get bad results to get many good results(but get bad results sometimes). I sad kept and shogun isn't ranked. I hope they not get bad results this season.

Well it's more like consistency apparently. Shogun and kept wasn't consistent enough to be ranked while ron got all 3 digits. Still it's weird to me that Ron made it. There are many other Japanese players who could have made it instead of Ron. I still am happy for ron tho

I’m confused about something. The PGR/non-PGR losses start is to tell you how many sets they’ve lost against top 50 and non-top 50 players, respectively, right? How come Bestness’ set count vs top 50 shows 11 losses and his PGR losses stay is 12? Do Area 51 players count as PGR, and did he lose to one of them?

Sad to see that our only pgr cpt falcon is no longer ranked well maybe next season

I just realized that for the PGR consistency is A HOLE FUCKING LOT more important than getting some big placements :(

Don't know how big a fan I am of the new formatting. I get that losses are important, especially to the algorithm, but do we really need a whole page dedicated to them? I'd think that both spectators and players would much rather see a more-complete list of wins than a list with each loss. And while some players have enough losses to fill up a whole page, quite a few don't and it leaves a lot of blank space. I'd rather highlight the most important non-PGR losses & the ratio of PGR/non-PGR, and then highlight a few more important wins in an easier-to-digest format than the previous page (that also might leave out some big wins as we start getting to the players who attended a lot of tournaments).

Yeah but looking back there wasn’t enough space since there was 13 a tiers and they had to use something different. Also thinking bout that I pictured a season 1 pgru with season 2 layout.

Keep in mind before y'all complain that some good players aren't on the PGR because they either don't travel enough and/or didn't place well at the big events.

Great Gonzales places 13th at one event with a few hot wins last pgr: 43rd Goblin consistently places 17th-9th, even 2nd at an A tier, consistent hot wins (few on tweet being top 10): 42nd PG is really just playing spin the bottle with his ranking LOL Ik he has some bad losses but the placements and him actually winning events speak for themselves, shoulda been a lottt higher than 42 imo

no, the notable win is typically their top or breakout performance. edit: no you're right it's should be "wins"

I'm shocked that Kept isn't on PGR. 25th at EVO, 13th at Smash Con, 17th at TBH9, which are all S-tiers. Maybe his other results pulled him down? idk kinda weird.
