Hello and welcome to the 7th episode of TOP 50 Commodore 64 (C64) games in under 10 minutes.
I keep expecting the quality of games to start dropping as we go into the latter years of 8-bit gaming, but 1990 was another great year for Commodore 64.
Turrican, Rick Dangerous 2, King's Bounty, Creatures, Flimbo's Quest, B.A.T and Champions Of Krynn are just a few of the titles released in 1990 for the C64.
Games are, as always, presented in no particular order.

i sold my C64 to get an amiga in 1987 ... i knew these 1990-games from the amiga, it's cool to see how they looked on the c64. thx 4 da upload.

Wow so many of my favourites in this list. Creatures, rainbow islands, turrican and midnight resistance. Great year for c64 games
Flimbo's Quest is a game i still play to this very day in 2023. Awesome graphics and that SID is music to my ears.

Flimbo is one of those games that really show what can be done with the machine. Fantastic title!

I almost played them all. I forgot how much fun I had with all those top view racing games... And how much time I've wasted playing diplomacy. :)
I never realised Xenomorph got a C64 release. Some absolute bangers in this list. Great video as always.

Thank you! As always, I tried to include a few lesser known, but still good games (at least in my opinion).
Man some of these games look better than 8 bit Nintendo games! 😮 Glad there is so much more retro games to discover out there.

Yeah some of them really look great. B.A.T. screens, Flimbo, Creatures... it shows that (good) programmers really knew the machine by 1990.

Iron Lord was a very nice game. But only the first part with the beautiful drawn map. Very good graphics and music, great atmosphere. But after that part it seems like the developers had used some unfinished completely different games which didn't fit to the rest. But thanks to the Arm Wrestling I only once got that far.

Great lists , you can download by watching selected titles on the move. Sets by year, that is great.

As someone who had a C64 in 90 most of these I never played. And these days most of them you wouldn't want to play on a C64 anyhow. Tbf at this point even the Amiga was dead in the US and it was a DOS PC or Genesis/SNES world. Not that I wasn't playing rpgs on my NES, C64, and Genesis mind you. But the ol 64 was past its due date by now. Long past though damn if developers couldn't make it punch above its weight. (Tbf there are some NES games that almost look like Amiga titles. Enough time and talent yo.)

This list if only for games released in 1990. Check other "Top 50 C64 games" videos on this channel and you'll find Ultima as well ;)

Champions of Krynn is one of my all-time favorites, although I played it on Amiga. 😍

All the Gold Box games were really great games of their times. Champions of Krynn was the first RPG I ever managed to beat on my own, followed by Treasures of the Savage Frontier. I played them with the DOS versions; not as pretty as the Amiga but still solid.

First game from Krynn series I got very far with it (almost finished but not quite :) ) was Dark Queen Of Krynn - and also on DOS PC. It also looked great in VGA 256 colors. Fantastic series!

Superb video as ever. Had a fair few of these. Never liked Turrican though, always thought it a very flash technical demo which wasn't fun.

Thank you! I actually like Turrican :) Mad shooting spree, but the game still gives you the feeling that you are (at least somehow) in control of the action.

Wonder if you can help. I have a Konix speedking joystick here, when I plug it into my C64 of the fire buttons makes the character go right...the other makes it go left... the direction stick does nothing do you have any idea what the joystick would work on going by that information?

open it and check for cables short circuiting and microswitches rightly connected.
