When I first went to Mexico I went alone and stayed with my grandparents for about a month. I was about 5-6 years old and I was used to eating cereal in the morning not menudo or anything spicy really... I made them buy me cereal from the tiendita and they didn't have what I wanted 😭 it was a struggle for my grandma. Bless her for trying to find what I wanted. I didn't know any better. She called home to speak with my parents to see what it was that I wanted. As a 5 year old I couldn't explain myself. My spanish was alright but I was 5... American 5 yrs old not Mexican 5 yrs old lol

I also want to Mexican food but where I leave they don't serve real Mexican food. The only Mexican food I ever had was a quesadilla in a small cafe and it was trash ( no i am not insulting Mexican food, they just can't cook plus it was probably 3dayold 😭) I really wanna try real Mexican food

We all ate stuff like that for breakfast. I dont know you but i get the feeling you are from the US where the ingredients to make stuff like this is super expensive.

@Ginger it actually depends on the region, but yeah, in general we're more of an European light and fast breakfast, like a piece of pastry or toast, fruit and coffee, juice or chocolate milk (pretty uncommon for older people tho). Sometimes we indulge in some savory one like a toast with ham, a piece of spanish omelette or even a ham and cheese sandwich but yeah, we're lazy with breakfast

Honduras is in central America... Mexico is NORTH America. Not the same. Only the language which is Spanish....

I love this so much. I think I happen to agree with her about traditional Mexican food.

Enmoladas are my favourite. I tried just about every kind of mole when I was in Oaxaca in March, most of it in enmolada form as I needed a fortifying breakfast ahead of all that tourism! But I also had some served more like a stew at lunch. I tried mole negro, coloradito, rojo, amarillo, and verde. Pretty sure I'm still missing some! Negro is my favourite, closely followed by coloradito.

If you live on the US i’m pretty sure you can get Mole from the Doña Maria brand (it’s used a lot in Mexico), some corn tortillas and chicken.

No lie, my family/ mom makes all these on the regular. My favorite is huevos rancheros, but I ask her not to fry the tortilla, she toasts it instead. I love the burn parts of the toasted tortilla and its less fattening. I ain't no ranch hand, got to adapt to healthier choices

Just for the record, that's mexican breakfest in a restaurant, at home we just get mostly different types of scrambled eggs, also cereal, pancakes, sandwiches, and sometimes chilaquiles when feeling fancy, but most times it's just very simple breakfast.

Well you dont have to be Mexican to have Mexican food just pick un any meat and tortillas or maseca with onions tomato pepper cilantro and mexican cheese and you can make a ton of Mexican dishes
