JG DIaz I'm hoping to qualify as a TA soon as I have experience in working with primary school children over the years but I've been working as a support worker since then. I miss the fun teaching environment and I'll be able to channel my creativity in helping the children develop. Luckily I've kept all my child developing books over the years and I have plenty of life experience to draw upon so I'm really excited to start studying for my TA course!

One important question you did not assist with is the ... "Tell me about yourself," question which can be a nightmare to answer. Otherwise this is a great clip. The graduated approach is a stellar tip - thanks.

I feel that the initial answers that you enjoy working with children; have high expectations etc could be introduced here. Elaborate with some personal but well thought out additions.

AT Illinois I was a teaching assistant. I taught some labs. There was a beautiful blond girl in one of them. One day, I saw her formal signature. I said "Oh my God." She whacked me on the head.

Seriously ... interviews are not standardized tests. Are we now, as potential educators, going to revise and swat over standardized answers to standardized questions so we can teach our kids how to best revise for standardized tests? If you're going into teaching or a TA role, then you should already have great answers to these sorts of questions. If you don't, then ask yourself why not.

Which is why I am watching. This video was very helpful for me because I needed to come up with my own personalized answers to these questions, or my own "policies and procedures?" Ok, so these are the things they want to know about me? Well I need to think about my own approach and how I would handle these situations and then answer truthfully about myself and my strengths. That's how one prepares for an interview.
