I have a tremendous amount of respect for Julia. What an incredible player. I really hope she makes it to the big stage and fulfills all of her musical dreams. She nails all of these top bass line videos with tone, feel and articulation.

There is no such thing as a big stage anymore. It's no coincidence that most of her covers were first recorded many years ago. Modern music is all but dead.

Julia is a super bassist with a lovely engaging presentational style
Jamerson sounds like he was having a lot of fun on "For Once In My Life".
"I was made for love her" "Signed, sealed delivered" "You are the sunshine of my life"
Worth to mention, the bass line in Superstition live on sesame street.
Guitar player for 45 years here. Ok let me make this perfectly clear. I haven’t been this inspired by anything in years. Your playing is beautiful and made my morning mood.
How Jamerson played his bass lines with one finger will always continue to amaze me.

Oh, man. I get such a good feeling when Julia plays the happy songs of my youth!
The baseline for "I Wish" is phenomenal. I love it.

The music is great, your playing is incredible ... but watching you eyes closed and just grooving in the pocket...*chefs-kiss*
I literally go into a trance when she plays 😵💫
Not only do you play precisely, but you always dial in the exact perfect tone. It makes a huge difference, and separates the great players from the good ones. Awesome as always Julia.

That rubbery motown sound never gets old to me
“Living for the city” & “Higher ground” The message in “Living..” with the heartbreaking base line to drive the message in is like a heartbeat… While “Higher Ground” brings a funky base rhythm into a “protest song”, which can be played, and covered (by RHCP), in any club or disco!

Where was I was Made to Love Her from the 60's. That baseline by James Jameson was Light Years ahead of what Bassists were playing. On another note Thank You for Honoring Brother Stevie Wonder and Thank You for Blessing with Your Incredible Talent.❤❤❤

That's definitely my favorite 60s Stevie wonder song and yes my favorite jamerson bassline . His melodic playing had a language of its own
I Wish isn't just one of my favorite Stevie Wonder lines, it's one of my favorite basslines EVER! It's the perfect mix of seeming simple but the groove hits so hard.

it seems easy until you try to play it! I have a lot of respect for Julia's cover. Her timing & feel are so freakin' good. Deep, deep pocket!
The utter hipness of I Wish bassline shows in your facial expressions. Nathan Watts has it on live videos. Dancefloors were filled before the drums came in. Infectious as hell.
James Jamerson was speaking a completely different language. Definition of a virtuoso.
I wish and superstitions will always be the funkiest bass lines, and Julia you will always be the bass ologist
I wanted to be a Bass Player when I was younger; it just never happened, BUT I Love Watching you play... You have Soul In Your Heart and Heart in your Funky Soul.😎
2:28 This is the second time today i'm watching this section of the video , maybe it's just the recommendations from KZread i don't know.. anyway i love the groove 🤭
I think "I Wish" has one of the most incredible bass line groove
All of Stevie Wonder bass lines are my favorite. Skeletons. Golden Lady. Signed, Sealed.

These Stevie songs bring back such wonderful memories of my childhood sunny days and my little radio. Cheers.
„I was made to love her“ has a phenomenal bassline
Who are you and how are you that young and can understand 70’s funk?? I was born in 66. I grew up to this music. You look like you were born in the 90’s. Good on you for being an incredible bassist playing old school music!!
Thank you Julia , finally someone who does not play the clavinet part on bass for Superstition. Great!! Stevie Wonder's songs are a treasure for bass player.

Best to tune your 'E' down a half-step when playing this one.
Julia still has the best "bass faces" in the business 😊 (a super talented player as well)
Fantastic job Julia, and these are difficult lines ! In the old ones, my prefered bassline is: "I was made to love her"👍

Yeah, it was James Jamerson there!
Its kind of cool how the bass lines of some of the songs match the horn lines.
Being a fusion listener since 70's high school, "Contusion" is my favorite bass line w/Ben Bridges.
One of my favorite Stevie moments is Stevie Wonder on the video for SRV's cover of Superstition. "Here, kitty-kitty!" 👍😉
Do I Do is my all time favorite song. I have LITERALLY listened to it on repeat for hours while driving in my younger days, and if I could wear out a CD, it would be that track. So much good on that whole Musiquarium Album too, but that's my favorite. I'm just now working it out on bass too, which is a whole other story.

You're official when you're playing jamerson ❤
What happened to I was made to Love Her. That line was light years ahead of what was being played at that time. But Thank you for Honoring Brother Stevie Wonder.😊
your bass playing skills are immaculate Julia!
Julia make the Bass sing, she’s Tops 🇬🇧🌹🇬🇧
Julia, you are a truly gifted bassist. There is nothing you have played that I don't have the deepest enjoyment from hearing you.
Nathan Watts Rocks! Looks like you enjoyed playing those tracks.
Julia, du bist wunderbar, du bist sehr talentiert, du gerätst in wahre Ekstase, eine einzigartige Musikerin, eine Künstlerin mit vielen Karat, ein Daludo aus Kolumbien!
Excellent! For many, it’s the groove... but Nathan has a certain “bounce” to many of his songs that just makes things fun.
Always about the groove!!!
I'm new to this channel, and to be honest - watching electric bass on KZread. I play, I think I play pretty well and I've been playing for many years. That being said - this young lady feels the music, the look on her face, the passion, the way she speaks ... this has me longing to get that feeling back. Nice job Julia, you're going places.
Thank you dear you never stop amazing me with your sweetness and talent
Julia, I love Steve Wonder music and when you play....hummm you deserv the best of best ever in your carrer. From de deep of my heart.
Love those quarterpounders
It's magic to watch you playing these, not just because of your technique but the way you are carried away with the groove. Thanks again.
The bassline for “I Wish” Will always remind me of my friend Joe who passed away a couple of years ago. I remember when he was learning that how excited he was and how we talked about it for weeks! Great job Julia!

I’m sorry to read about your friend. “I Wish” is a true test of a bass player - it’s simple on paper but hard to pull off on stage. Between maintaining the shuffle and the energy and the physical task of playing on the bass I know why he talked about it. I’ll think about your friend when I’m playing it next week. All the best.

So much talent, genuine joy and great music, Julia! The weekend couldn't have started better.
Love that red Bass! I think "I wish" is probably my favourite!
my fav stevie song for bass is I was made to love her. James Jamerson gold.
I just love how much feel you manage to inject in to these bass lines. I especially liked Sir Duke. Awesome! Now, where’s my bass…
Favorite Stevie Wonder bassline is from the song "Tuesday Heartbreak."
As always, you lay down a stone-cold groove and play right in the pocket! Ausgezeichnet!
Love the ‘I Wish’ bassline. Now I wish for some TV themes though 😁 Late 70s Tatort theme (second part), Alf, Kojak and Starsky & Hutch 👍🏻
My favourite Stevie Wonder bass lines: “Do I Do”, “Sir Duke” and “Superstition”. So you got them all in - good job. In fact they might be my 3 favourite bass lines from Stevie or anyone else.
Great groove, ace playing!
Brilliant, i could listen to you all day
Julia, why are your videos always so short?! I have to watch them over and over... They are amazing! Thank you!
Love how you play Julie
It may not be as complex as these "top" 5, but without a doubt the most iconic Stevie Wonder Bassline is from "Master Blaster". I also really like "Love's Light In Flight" - a forgotten song from the "Woman In Red" soundtrack.
Sir Duke!
Played very well, Julia! My favorite Stevie Wonder bassline is I was made to love her
Y'all forgot "Signed, Sealed delivered I'm Yours"!!!! I also liked "I was made to love her". Get it right! My memories of Motown was the strings that Berry Gordy got from the symphony orchestra in Detroit, but most importantly to me was that "driving, strong Motown bass guitar in the background. That to me was the "Motown Sound" the "Sound of Young America".👍🏼💯‼
All of Stevie Wonder bass lines are my favorite. Skeletons. Golden Lady.
I like all of his basslines
Julia, thanks, I loved every minute of this video.
"I was made to love her", "So what the fuss", "Skeletons"
Heard an "oldie" this morning and thought it would be an interesting cover to see. The Monkees "Pleasant Valley Sunday" (1967)
Now I'm jealous. Every time I try to play any of Stevie Wonder's bass lines, my fingers get tied in knots :( Bravo!
You're GETTIN' DOWN, Julia! Keep up the good work, you're keeping Soul music alive!
Uh, I love these basslines and I love how much you love them!
James Jamerson was my favorite bass player and there are many great ones out there I live 20 minutes away from Motown hitsville USA in all my years of playing music shame on me I've never been there I'm going there this summer some of the greatest music in the world came from Detroit Michigan great bass playing little lady I love it I would love to play my guitar next to you and play some of these classics that you pull out of the Hat
Just learning Master Blaster! One of my favourites!
Boogie On Reggae Woman is one of my personal favorites.
I listened to this with my head in my hands. Too much brilliance in such a compressed format. My mind reels and my fingers despair. If I had three wishes, musical mastery would be one of them. Thank you for these great compilations!
I see pure dedication.... incredible Julia.
'As' and 'Another Star' my 2 favs of Stevie. He was asked what inspires him and how does he put together such beautiful music. His answer was 'I get into my hot tub and turn on the jet streams and take it away from there'.
Thank you! You Rock! Sir Duke is my favorite!! It’s brilliant!
Liking the video effect which follows the left (fretting) hand.
Fantastic! Superstition has my favorite groove and you did it right!
Friday and bass goddess Julia, I one's worked at a bar that just played Motown Music, yo brought me right back! Friday! :-)
Stevie is amazing and surrounds himself with excellent humans. Constant source of inspiration, I mean Songs in the key of life … how amazing is that album! No favorites but superstition is a go to riff 🤘🏽

Certaily Sir Duke is something out of this world! the kind of thing we hardly hear nowadays in modern songs. You brought lots of joy to my depressed heart and put a smile upon my face, thank you for making my day a lot better, I'm following your chanel and going to watch everything! I don't know if you ever done something about Paul Maccartney, if so, I'll try to find. Best regards from this old fella from Brazil! Thank you Julia.
Sir Duke is a classic, my favorite, thanks Julia great selection, Cheers!
So fun to watch you play!

I was driving one day, listening to that song for the 500th time when I suddenly heard what the bass was doing. Damn! That's how I found out about James Jamerson.
Nice video, played with a really "Heavy Tone" ( grin :-) ). Nathan Watts is amazing, and of course Stevie is just something else. Thank you so much, Julia.
After a lifetime of playing drums, I'm just diving into the bass. So happy I discovered your channel. Watching your face while you jam to Stevie Wonder, especially "I Wish", is pure joy. Music is in your soul. bravo!
Perfect! Thanks a lot!
always look forward to these top 5 bass videos!

I really love the bass in Master Blaster... it sticks in my brain for days. :)
Been watching your videos for a bit now and really enjoy them. Great job on the Basslines of Stevie Wonder. I've seen it mentioned a couple of times in the comments and I have to say that "I was made to Love Her" is my favorite bass line.
OUTSTANDING!! Great playing and thanks for sharing those amazing bass lines!
Absolutely great - thanks for this
