    Cavern elves are kind-of-but-not-really. The main antagonists of Darklands will be Sekamina (snake-people) and the cavern elves in darklands are more "bright light in darkness" for players instead of antagonists.

    Great video! Just wanted to point out that Monks _do_ get critical specialisation, but they have to take the Brawling Focus feat a level 2, which is obviously competing for a bunch of other nice feats!

    With that weapon feat change that means Ruffian Dwarfs can now sneak attack with long hammer, gnomes with glaives and goblins with horsechoppers

  • @PsiPrimeProductions1

    @PsiPrimeProductions1

    That is a little iffy. The feat says you "treat" the weapons as simple, and ruffian rogue says that the weapon has to 'be' simple in order for it to do d8 damage (martial weapons are limited to d6). Certainly up to GM interpretation.

    @@sparklingwater925 Basically, some say that 'it is treated as a simple weapon in your hand,' but that's just for how you wield it. The weapon itself is still a martial weapon. I'm not saying I agree with that interpretation, just that some people may look at it that way.

    I was unsure on Gang-Up if it was a planned change or just a bad work change and not intentional? On #3 Armour Training I did notice that the Rogue Dedication still only gives training in Light Armour it does not increase automatically until like the General Feat. It is still fine at lower levels but could lead to an odd situation where you can take the General Feat to get Medium Armour that will upgrade but your training in Light Armour does not increase to Expert! The change to Ancestral Weapons is really nice. A single feat for all the benefits makes it worth taking now. All the Classes that only have Simple Weapon training get a decent upgrade to whatever weapon they pick. Ghomish Bards now get Martial training meaning they can use the Flickmace to have a reach weapon!

    Personally I am not a fan of the crafting rule changes. Plus you still need access to craft items that are not common...but there are a lot of common items. We had a crafter in our last campaign and using formulas as loot, driving npc interaction or even quest items gave the character the way to lean into it.

    I wouldn’t be surprised if the change to gang up was because a lot of people didn’t read it carefully and were playing like that already. At least until someone notices within the group and points it out. Having seen things like that happen, I know that people hate having things taken away from them, even if what they have left is still OP. Not that I would have handled it like that myself, but I do understand why they might have taken that approach if they have the numbers to know that is how people end up playing it. Maybe I’m just projecting because I have ADHD and that is 100% how I read the feat the first time I came across it.

They aren’t deleting any old content that have drow, true, but also all the old drow cities are now ‘lizard men that live at the center of the earth cities’ if players visit them in the future. Edit: ok, I rewatched the panel and he does indeed talk about the serpent folk now being in the cities that used to be drow. I'm a little disappointed in Paizo for this. Paizo said that Hasbro has said that they are willing to go after anyone who uses Drow. And while Paizo might have a case that dark elves at public domain (they are in Norse mythology), it would likely be a long, protracted legal battle. Paizo has to pick and choose their battles.

    @@kindred84 I mean, it was either retcon that the cities were made by serpentfolk, or completely ignore all the content that was generated for those cities, never mention them again, and pretend they never existed . . . which is kind of like retconning anyway. I used dwarfen weapon familarity on my ganzi dwarf vanguard gunslinger in AV reason was: I wanted to use the dwarfen scattergun, but it's an advanced weapon so to not lack the missing +2 from being one degree lower as with most weapon + using a class feat to get the same scaling, I took the feat making the gun a martial weapon the rest wasn't important, as I wouldn't really fight with the other weapons and my class already gives crit spez. for firearms

    The new Crafting Rules still suck. My Problem was never the Formular but the Crafting Time. No Kampagne gives u 60 Days downtime to craft. And even IF thats for 1 Item only. The alternative Rules from the Treasure Vault are still by far better.

    Thank you. So many people hand waive how crap the crafting rules are. If you dont want people to try to make things, just don't include rules for it, dont make it pointlessly tedious. When you can make more money then the item would cost with downtime activities why would you bother making. And before anyone asks i am a bladesmith and woodworker, i know how many hours it takes to make some of the things people would craft.

    I mean, you are entitled to your own opinion, and they aren't the easiest thing in the world, but not having the formula means you can roll into any town and craft whatever items you need if you have a smithy. Season of Ghosts, Abomination Vaults, Strength of Thousands, and even a bit of Quest for the frozen flame have at least some downtime in them to craft items. And it only takes 2 days to craft an item, not 60. I assume you mean crafting an item so that it costs half? That kinda stuff was what through off all the treasure tables in PF1. I remember the nightmare of every PF1 party having a dedicated magic crafter and then everyone was rolling in way more loot than they should have for their level. No, it's not perfect, but, at least in my opinion, it's better and it solves a lot of problems.

    @@PsiPrimeProductions1 Before the Remaster u could take a Feat to Invent your owm formula. Sure not as easy as heaving them and getting rid of them overall is nice, but the Key Point is the Gold Cost for me. And if i had the Gold i would just buy it. In my opionen its better to get the Items cheaper and skip the whole "I have to loot everything to sell later" Part. And IF u want to craft the Items yourself u have to spent extrem long, like my hyperbole 60 Days. I could open my book, and u could wrote a way to long Text stating how many Days execly i would need - but i think its clear what i mean. Some Groups may have a small Downtime of a Week or Two but like 95% (hyperbole again) dont have Downtime longer than that. Most Groups have a play style were your going from Day to Day play. So for a Player to Craft 1 Single Items (20ish Ingame days) would need what.. Month if not Years real time ? With the alternative Rouls it can be as fast as double - or even more. And with the Flaw Trait there even is more Story and more interaction. Looking on the Overall - the new Crafting makes it a little bit better but by no means good.

    @@PsiPrimeProductions1 the new rules even reduce the price for items let's say you have 1 week of downtime before you had like 3 days to reduce the price of it + maybe even buying the formula now: you get 5-6 days to reduce it and you don't even need really to buy a formula and let's be honest: 1-2 days of downtime sounds more possible to get as like 4days or so

    This is the problem with most campaigns, and as a GM I did the same thing to my players in our last campaign. The world should not be in (player level appropriate) danger 24/7 unless the apocalypse is rapidly approaching. There should be times of peace and prosperity that have been brought about by the players actions.
