I used my Lee Enfield for years. It wasn’t sporterized, just the good old fashioned full stock military No 4 with original iron sights. It put a lot of venison on the table over the years. Now that I’m in my 60’s, I use a Tikka with a Bushnell scope but I see nothing wrong with anyone using what they own.

Over the years I've owned a milspec Lithgow Mk III* and a Long Branch No. 4 Mk 1*. I've also owned a couple sporterized Mk III* rifles. Can't remember who manufactured those however. Eventually gave them away as gifts to a couple co-workers one Christmas who were enamored with them. Great rifles.

Marlin 30-30, Model 700 in 270 and the Rem 742 is my prepper loadout. Not because they compete with with AR's or AK's but the parts would be in infinite supply in a zombie apocalypse.

Definitely not 800-1000 yards by any means but 300-400 yards is a pretty average shot. I've dropped coyotes well past 800 yards with a 6.5 creedmoor. however I usually shoot a 30-06 so I don't quite trust it when reaching out that far because its usually very windy here

I had a little .22 pump just like that that I found hidden in an abandoned house shortly before it was demolished. It was definitely made by Savage. Unfortunately, like an idiot, I sold it for cheap to a family member who then immediately flipped it for a few extra dollars of beer money. Still regret it. Especially since the raccoon population around here is getting a little dense.

Nah - it's an ancient double barrel with no markings whatsoever on it. The left barrel doesn't eject the shell, and he has to fiddle with a knife to get the spent shell out. Every time he shoots a slug through the thing, you are totally expecting to end of the barrel to mushroom out like Elmer Fudd's shotgun after Bugs crammed a carrot in the barrel.

I dig up a lot of old casings here in Hawaii. Most are from U.S. guns, .45/70, .30 call. 1908-53, and .50 Cal. 1931-42. Some of them might have fallen from aircraft, having found some WWII practice areas, like the abandoned Makua village used to train in WWII. Near here the National guard trained from at least 1905. Then I dug a Kingdom of Hawaii general service button of about 1882.

Have a model 74 Jamomatic. Amazingly accurate comfortable to carry and shoot. Did have a jamming problem. Was really clean hardly ever used when I got it. So after cleaning and checking everything came down too I had to cut a little bit off The recoil spring. Problem fixed. I spray the heck out of mine when I'm done with it. Used to use WD-40 went to spray on silicone lubricant. Cancel silicone watches it out then when it dries it doesn't attract dust but it's still lubricates really well. Now I just squirt little blaster in it when I'm done. I have some French FMJ early fifties machine gun 30-06 ammo. Man that stuff is hot and that rifle just loves it shoots like a dream using it.

I live in upstate NY so winter for me is less shooting and more acquiring/building firearms. 336 is on my list this winter. When I first got into firearms I hated everything about lever actions but 3 years in that's changed and a 336 is all I can think about. Maybe the most affordable lever action but to me it's one of the more superior lever actions, the Monte Carlo stock, side port ejection are all it took for me. The shape of the lever and a gold trigger are a huge bonus on the cosmetic side too.

Has a 4 shot detachable box magazine and has probably taken a lot of wild game in its day. It’s a very accurate rifle and in pretty good condition. Mine is a 30-30 Winchester and the other guy's was a .35 Remington. Great guns. My cousin had the Remington 7400 with a 3x9 power scope, just like you have there, in .270 Winchester. He got a deer every year even if no one else did not. Another guy who was there was there used a 300 Win Mag and he was deadly with it. He dropped a small doe at 400 yards with a neck shot.

My dad passed away about 5 years ago. He would always hunt deer with his Marlin model 25M chambered in .22 mag. Between him and my older brother they kill countless deer with that rifle, and that is the rifle I killed my first deer with at about 75 yards when I was 7years old. After he passed away I inherited his rifle. Her in Virginia it is illegal to hunt deer with anything smaller than .23 cal but he did it anyway. I don't hunt deer with it now that I'm older and know it's illegal but it can sure bust some squirrels. Awesome stories guys. I thought I would share one of mine.

All wonderful examples. I harvested my first 3 deer with a Marlin 30AS .30-30.. My father had a 742 .30-06 given to him by mother their first Christmas together. The custom leather sling on it had 52 notches in it representing 52 LEGAL deer killed with it. 😜 And his father had a 7400 .270 that's still practically brand new. Trying to talk my uncle into letting my buy it. We've bought and sold several Remington 700's. Need to put another back in my collection. I'm a bit surprised you guys didn't include a 870, but I'm certainly not disappointed. Great video. Love your work. 👍🏼😊

In germany almost every hunter owns a K98 with a hunting stock, it's almost like you're not a hunter in germany if you don't have a K98. Not to say that the K98 is a bad gun, in fact it is one of the best rifles ever designed and the rifle, on which the most WW2 rifles and modern rifles are based upon. It is just the fact that you can't not own one if you live in germany as a hunter.

As I understand it and you may correct me if I'm wrong. The 8mm Mauser cartridge is as much of a go to cartridge in Germany as the 30-06 is here in the US. BTW I love my non sporterized 98K!

Michael Durham indeed it is, in general what they call "german" or "European" cartridges (the ones like 8x57, 7x64, 9.3x62, etc. are more popular than the American cartridges(everything with a point in the beginning like .308, .416, etc.)). In Luxembourg on the other hand (where i come from), most hunters use modern guns, mostly chambered in .30-06.

Lol cool video. Lol Marlin goose gun...there's a 10 ga. Version too. Back in the late 80s and early 90s there were quite a few of them in pawn shops in East Texas. My dad and I picked up one each for 50 bucks no tax out the door! Look at prices now! Respect for all of the guns featured.

I had a good friend that gave me his dad's hunting gun. It was a 7x57 Mauser. And Danny's dad sportserized it. He put a Williams peep sight on it and the black final on the forearm. Turned the bolt down, and I think it is a small bolt action. ( It's upstairs in the gun cabinet and I'm too tired to go get it, ) oh yeah, he gave it to me becuz he thought it was taboo for him too hunt with it! I really enjoyed this fun video of some very kool rifles!

Man I had to watch as my favorite gun was featured. The marlin goose gun is a great turkey gun. I've killed so many gobblers with mine. They made a shorter version too with a maple stock. I have the long tom version like this one as I sold the shorter one years ago. I will leave it to my grandson as it's never leaving my arsenal as long as I'm still kicking.
