Owner, long term review: Im on a touring in Thailand with the rebel 1100 dct. This last days i rode around 1800km 50% good roads 50% awfull construction and extremely rural roads. Total km since the purchase 6000km. Its a great machine after few upgrades. Stock i was getting extremely lower back pain after only 30min of riding. I install windshield, 1inch risers and a better seat. Now i can ride confortable for 2 hours straight, 4 to 5 hours a day. When you need to speed, she can speed. 0 to 160kmh pretty fast. When you want to cruise slowly and enjoy the landscape she is pretty stable, low vibrations. Fuel consumption im getting around 18 to 20km per liter on this touring, road conditions arent the best but everytime i enter the highway i speed a bit. If i control the trottle thinking about saving fuel maybe i can get 22km per liter. Maybe even 24. Only complain is the pillion seat, my gf hate it. After replace its great. Suspension isnt the best but its a cruiser, nothing to do about it. Sometimes you feel you re going to jump out of the bike. No mechanical or hardware problems till now. I ride almost daily on the rebel, i own few more bikes but the rebel its my favourite. Im short and i quite feel more confortable riding low seat motorcyles. I own another DCT as well, the nc750x In general if you like the style and cruising, its a great bike. Most of times you feel you re riding a naked bike and not a cruiser.

Some folks have commented that a limit of 100 mph governed is a deal breaker for the purchase of a Rebel 1100/1100DCT. I heard by word of mouth 120 mph governed for the DCT. Personally in my opinion and for what that may be worth now, no one has any business to be doing 100 mph on a public highway, street, or interstate. One would most certainly be asking for it and I am not suggesting a ticket or citation but a grave marker. If one is running on a track where speeds over 100 mph are common place, then so be it, have fun and be safe. Many a time so far my 1100DCT has always provided instant response on the throttle and given me ample speed if and when I should need it both about town and on the interstates. Even when pulling out from intersections, I am usually the first rabbit out of the hole without even making an attempt to show myself or my bike. I am not suggesting everyone ride like me but I am very disheartened whenever I stop to read or watch the evening news and hear or read of another rider being needlessly killed on a bike where speed was the factor in the accident. It's not only sad for the friends and families of the victims who have died but also sad for those of us who are dedicated riders to the sport of motorcycling.

Got mine (manual) last Wednesday, been riding since. Before I got it, I was considering Triumph Speedmaster, 48, BMW RNineT. Went on KZread for few weeks to get more Info, came across this video (among others) and decided, REBEL 1100 M/T is for me. So went and got it!! I don't really need fast bike, I ride for fun, so speed limit does not bother me at all. And I agree with 4 points, and one point is a matter of preference, I don't really like DCT version. I think it really took out the fun in riding... but again it's just my preference. Thanks for the video

Well here it is about a year and a half later, and I am right at 30,000 mi. on my 2022 Rebel 1100DCT and on my second set of tires with lots and lots of miles still to go on my second set of tires and the bike still runs like new. Most of my riding is done on major highways at speeds between 55 and 65 mph with an occasional run of 70+ mph. However, I am not one for speed. If there are any gripes I may have it is that Honda needs to make a set of engine guards to fit the DCT model. I can find engine guards all day long for the Rebel 1100 standard transmission but very little in the way of accessories for the DCT model, even after market is lacking for the DCT, though the sellers "claim" their accessories fit. There is just not enough room for aftermarket engine guards to fit the DCT. Lastly, the DCT transmission. Though it performs great, it is clunky when it shifts at low speeds around town and in heavy stop and go traffic, sometimes its a bit awkward even but I have been living with that and hoping as time goes by that gets better but I have my doubts. Overall, though the bike could be a tad bit better, but what I have mentioned is not a deal breaker for purchasing the 1100DCT.

Once you’ve gotten comfortable and intuitively switch between street and sport and between auto and manual based on conditions it becomes a very rewarding riding experience. This is in no way only for beginners. In fact I strongly believe all beginners should become completely proficient in manual operation BEFORE they venture into DCTs.

Make no mistake, the power doesn’t taper off at 80. It still pulls like a freight train at 80. Enough that the front wheel gets a bit loose/light. Even though it’s limited at 100, it’ll get there in 4th gear still pulling the entire way. As soon as a company releases a flash/tune for these things they’ll absolutely rip past 100.

I have been riding for decades; owned a lot of bikes over the years, including 9 Harleys. The looks of any bike is subjective, but I think this Honda is a new take on what a modern cruiser can be. I like it a LOT better than the various trying-to-look-like-a-Harley offerings. Some people seem to have concerns because the bike doesn't fit THEIR idea of what a cruiser should be. And, that's OK - we all get to vote with our dollars. Considering Honda dealers can't keep this in stock, there certainly seems to be plenty of demand for the 1100 Rebel. I am long beyond buying a bike based on what someone else might think of it... I think this bike offers a lot. Oh, and while I haven't tried Honda's DCT, I can see what it brings. I would buy this over the Scout... I may.
