@@chinusharma4384 actually that's just a replica - they made tons of them. only about 20 original bills exits, and all kept in national museums of USA, maximum some time can be uncut sheet of about 2x8 bills with "specimen" perforation and with number 00000000 on each note - really expensive

Notes of $500 to $10000 were released for general circulation from 1928 to 1940. (Small sized notes) the printing in 1945 was for special non-circulation use.

My grandpa told me he bought his first TV with a thousand dollar bill, probably in the late 50s or 60s

it's funny you posted this and my mom jus found a 500 dollar bill. she works for meijers and some young girl came in and used it to but groceries and clothes. She said her grandpa gave her 4 of them for her graduation present, but she didn't care that it was rare she jus wanted to buy clothes!

It's been 30 years at least, but at the small museum at Boy's Town in Omaha, Nebraska they have or had on display a sample of all of the notes $500 to the $100,000 note. They all were numbered as either all "0"s or as all with number 1. I would suspect they are still there, but like l said it's been over 30 years since l have been there.

Actually the ultra large notes were only printed for general circulation in 1928 and 1934. The 1940 and 1945 printing were just special non-circulation notes.

The government claimed that there was little demand for this and the three larger denominations, because checks and credit cards were being used for larger transactions. Of course the "war on drugs" was also initiated, so it is believe that this played a part in the decision, as other commenters have pointed out.

I once had a 500€ note but I spent it at a hotel. The hotel had never seen it or the 200€ either. I regret spending it now.

I sure it's one of that Philipinian or Indonesian souvenir fake for stupid tourists, same like that $100M-500M "treasury notes", that just a photo-edited from random dollar bills... Check the paper, printing e.t.c., or try to check it in bank - 99,(9)% chanse of that is just counterfeit

Just so you know, the $10,000 Federal Reserve note was first printed in 1914, not 1934.

The fractional paper money was not created by the government but the local banks, and they where legal in that area.

It does not exist--the US never printed this denomination.

Yes, it is still legal tender so theoretically you could take it to a bank and exchange it for modern cash. That idea would not make sense as the bills are worth way more than face value to collectors.

The $100K bill was a series 1934 gold certificate, and the government didn't release it to the public because of the government's gold "recall" in 1933. There were also series 1934 $10,000, $1000 and $100 bills printed, and these were also illegal to own for the same reason. These all were orange on the back, so any small-sized bill (the size of our money today) that is orange on the back is illegal to own. However, series 1928 gold certificates ($10, $20, $50, $100, $500, $1000, $5000 and $10,000) ARE legal to own, although there are no $5000 or $10,000 gold certificates known to still be "outstanding".

Until now they want to locate the exact area of the hidden place to recover all the missing historical asset and gold..

The $10,000 bill (ten thousand) still exists, but cost much more than their face value ($70,000 and up) from dealers.
