I've owned my 09 Sport/Touring 6MT 370z since 70k miles, October 2017. It's been an absolutely great "veericle" for me! Today, August 2021 I'm at 105k miles. I'm on stock cats and headers but have replaced the mid-pipe and muffler with the AAM S-Line Ti setup with blued tips. Sounds real throaty and damn good actually. I've heard a few with test pipes and I find them to be obnoxious! I've also done the K&N Typhoon intake setup, I know not the best but I really didn't want to remove the front bumper AND have to be worried about driving in the rain. I've also replaced the rotors, brake fluid, pads and brake lines with the kit from Z1, drilled and slotted rotors look great on this car.
Rear axle click. FINALLY solved!! Thank you! I thought it was brake pads moving or swaybar endlinks.

Had a 2011 sports package, Nissan took care of the slave cylinder free of cost. Never had any other issues ~ at all. I ran synthetic Synthetic/ Mobile-1 oil, NOT the ester oil. Nissan-Z specialist recommended it right when I bought it. Never had any ticking noises, or oil consumption issues. I drove the car as my daily for 130k miles, trouble free except for the slave cylinder, 6 hours back on the road. I miss that car.
The more 370z videos I watch the more I cant wait to go pick mine up today after work. I get off at 2 and dang this is the longest wait I've ever had lol
I had the steering lock issue. They fixed it via a recall the first time but then it happened again 4 years later. I ended up hitting the silver box under the steering wheel with a small rubber mallot while spamming the start button and it started up. Then I ran to the fuse box and pulled the fuse that actuates that solenoid out so it never locks again. Had no issues since but it does allow you to turn the steering wheel while the car is off. Worth it since the dealer wanted $1,250 to fix.
Well done for not recommending the fuse-pull option 👏🏼 Cost me £800 in the UK as the Nissan free replacement is a one-shot 🙄 Better than disabling the very capable NATS designed to disable your Z if someone tries to have it 😉 Has anyone ever had a 370Z successfully stolen?
I own a 2010 40th Anniversary Edition and never have a problem. Bullet proof and super fun
Dude - you missed the biggest one ! (at least for 09-13 & HR's) The dreaded oil gallery gasket. You can loose your engine pretty easily without replacing this with a proper metal gasket with torqable counter sunk screws. Ask me how I know.

K.. don't come at me.. it's because of CA bay area traffic.. 1) can I get around problem #1(CSC) by opting for the paddle shifters instead of manual? Thats likely to be the only issue I would have with a 370z. My GTI had that issue. I replaced the master & slave and everything that came with the kits.. and it was a pain in the a$$. Great video. Very informative.

Bullet proof to me own 09 nissan 370z 84k miles only oil change brakes and battery that's it wow what a reliable car I love itt!! Just got a baby and I don't want to sell it!!
No recall in Australia for the steering lock unfortunately. To save money I worked out it's an earth issue, simply create another wire hooked up to a rocker switch and connect to the main earth point on the driver side closest to door. A simple flick of the switch will fix the circuit and allow you to start your vehicle everytime. My earth wire I fitted connects into the plug where the pink wire is if your not sure.
I replaced the steering wheel lock last week in my 09. I pulled the fuse 1.5 years ago after having issues and it started malfunctioning again even with the fuse removed. Bought the part for $400 and did the labor myself. Read the dealer can charge over $1000 to do it. Got the part from an auto oarts store and it mentioned in the description that it had an improved design to help prevent the same issue from happening in the future. Also came with a device to reprogram keys which was kind of a lengthy process but not hard

Great video. My low mileage 2011 sport 7AT had the axle click. It is an actual TSB with Nissan. I griped enough to have that fixed free. I also removed the ESL fuse several years ago. ( Personally best way to avoid the $1500 fee the dealer will charge when it does fail) (since my Z is a custom that stays in the garage, I wasn't worried about the security aspects) You are also correct on the fuel starve. Keep that fuel past 1/2 tank and you're good. Thanks again for the informative video!

I have a 2019 370Z 6MT with the sport package that I bought new and that now has about 28K miles. I haven't had any problems with it at all but I am very diligent about the maintenance and only use the highest quality parts and fluids in it. I flush the fluids at least twice as frequently as Nissan recommends and am using a higher DOT(4 or 5,1) hydraulic fluid in the clutch master cylinder.

I own a 15 370z, I twin turboed it, i track it and ive had the motor out twice just because. ... A couple things: The CSC is definitely a known issue., Either it was out of luck, or just because I flushed the fluid early on with motul rbf660 brake fluid, which will hold higher temps. When i upgraded clutches , it was a good purchase from Zspeed ( HD CSC) that did the trick. Also, the RBF660 along with heat wrapping the clutch line near the exhaust helps. Rear axle click: never happens on my car (45k on the odo as of this post) dunno if they upgraded the nut assy, ill have to check.. Fuel starvation: I did read about this in the forums, so it was always toppped to a half tank t the track before topping it off again. just before twin turboing the car, a walbro450 and a fuel return went in. Ive stretched my brain considering a fuel surge system or simply dropping in an oem pump behind the driver side port to simply help the venturi system dump fuel on to the passenger side ( theres a spot for it - drops right in) I havent had any failsafe cutoffs yet , so it looks my system is feeding the car. From what I understand is for a stock Z, the factory pump just needs an upgrade by default.. not so much a sloshing issue as that the pump is garbage,.... a walbro or aeromotive around the 255lph range should keep the car happy, from factory stock, to upgraded bolt-ons to match. Steering lock: this was an early model problem ( i think just the 09, or maybe the 2010. My 2015 does not have that feature, and no issues) Oil consumption: I truly have not seen an issue with oil consumption on my car. The car does like to blow by when you give it the beans though. CJ motorsports pcv delete (an fitting) to a catch can goes a long way to keep the pcv slutch from caking up the intake valves, lower plenum and essentially lowering the octane... Of note, if there is enough restriction from the catch can, the same pcv sludge will come out the breather, as i have found out. it doesnt hurt to join these hoses prior to the catch can, or buy 2 3-port catch cans to collect all of the goodies. add forced induction, you might want to look at air oil separators or other creative avenues.

Before owning a car, most of the times people should not jump into conclusions about it (regarding if it's a good or a bad vehicle) and without owning it, the best thing a person can do is watch such a video with the issues. ... because issues come with time, it's better to be prepared.

I've got a 2012 which I bought brand new. I just had the steering lock issue around the middle of last year (****ing 2020!😛). They never actually recalled that part here in Australia so I was looking down the barrel of a bit over AU$2900 (just for the part, labour was going to push that to nearly AU$3200). Lucky for me that I didn't just pay it, I took it up with Nissan Australia head office and the guy from the service department at the dealer backed me up. In the end, they agreed to cover most of the cost, I paid just under AU$200. I was pretty happy with the outcome, given that the car was 8 years old and well out of warranty. Although it's disappointing that they only recalled it in some markets and not others, considering its the same part. Other than that, I've not had a single problem with it - that was the only time the car has ever been off the road for anything except the scheduled servicing. I love this car, looking forward to trying out the new one.
The clutch issue is something I have been dealing with my g37 as well

I have had a 370z touring with a catback exhaust and Zero issues.... only 50k Mls but I rarely drive it
Crazy this video is 4 years old and bought this exact 370Z from a dealership if yall want to see it send me a message
I have noticed this Nissan have a clutch switch that sticks and doesn't allow you to start the car. Quick fix is to go under the dash and flick the switch a couple of times. That should get you home to get it replaced. 👍
