I grew up in Manette. You nailed it - perfect area to live.
I absolutely love Manette! Used to take the foot ferry from Port Orchard to Bremerton, and walk to Manette while waiting for the ferry to Seattle. Loved riding the ferry...it never got old!

@@livinginbremerton no worries, that happens to me as well! I'm still looking to relocate and just love that area. I was in Port Orchard in 2018 for two months. The job in W. Seattle didn't work out but I loved the area!

Are there any fun walkable drinking - dining - shopping areas (not big box) in Kitsap County? (something like Ballard)

Hi Geri! Check out Downtown Bremerton, Poulsbo, Winslow on Bainbridge, Kingston and Port Orchard. All very walkable with shops and dining. I don't spend much time in Ballard, not sure if these places will be similar.
Crime seems high, any nice areas?

Hi Manny, MANY nice areas. As with any city, certain areas have higher crime rates than others. Some areas with lower crime rates are Manette, Chico, Tracyton, and East Central Kitsap in general (per public data).

If I hadn't been brought here, I wouldn't live for my life!!! Since I've been here, I had my car and my Harley Sportest stolen. Drug are ramping here as well. Stay away if your smart. Just dirty place.
