The Great Library of Alexandria was built without arches or vaults, so there was nowhere to put large windows and it was lit with oil lamps, even during the day. It was chock full wooden shelves stuffed with paper scrolls. The Great Library was also situated in a country that was so arid that the native language did not have a separate word for rain, but used the expression 'Nile from the sky'. Being so dry, it was a building filled with tinder and kindling There were also earthquakes. As tremors could topple the oil lamps, you would think that the Great Library was supposed to burn.

amazing video!!, can't belive you only have 7 k subs
I like how between 7 and 14 seconds into the video, the grandpa is standing in the same exact place in the same position but now is wearing pants. He must secretly be some sort of super grandpa, just pretending to be infirm, because in 7 seconds, he found his pants, put them on, and went back to stand in the same place he started.

This channel is amazing wtf
Ancient electroplating may have been a lost alchemy secret ...yet the Baghdad Battery itself was probably a copper scroll, not cylinder, buried with ceremony in the (hollow) first block being laid in a new temple foundation. Sealed with tar, a time-capsule meant never to corrode. (Were any found with actual wound spiral sheet of preserved copper ...covered with embossed writing?!!!) Heh, in other words, in the Warner Bros cartoon with the singing frog, the frog came from a time capsule: a hollow marble block in a building's demolished foundation! Also, the ancient lost Aegyptian rock-drill trick, I saw one in action. In my car engine! Belt-squeal caused the single bolt holding my alternator onto the engine-block ...to MIGRATE THROUGH SOLID IRON, moving about 2cm, leaving a slot and a load of iron powder, yet the steel bolt was not eroded. Cooooool! If you can produce belt-squeal with a bow-drill or perhaps a potters' wheel, that's tens of watts of extremely destructive pulsed sound. (This chaotic fanbelt-squeal would only last 5 to 10sec each time I started my car, and persisted for 3wks before ...the fanbelt started FALLING OFF the pulley, since the whole alternator was now tilted! Create similar belt-squeal for maybe ten minutes, and you can carve right through an inch of cast iron engine-block. Very much like "EDM," but acoustic not electrical. (I wonder very much if adding water would increase the effect by several orders, by adding cavitation-damage to the vibratory-hammer effect. Also, I wonder if a metal tool tip, which won't micro-fracture, can erode right through diorite, quartz, etc., which will!) Ten guys cranking a potters' wheel device, gives us a half kilowatt acoustic vibratory drill, or hole-saw, or bandsaw, etc., bronze bits chewing through dense basalt almost as easy as contemporary power tools chew through steel. And like me, if an ancient stoneworker noted "squealy rotary shaft destroyed my granite," we can see an obvious evolutionary path where a simple long-lost power-tool could arise ten centuries ago. wbeaty, amasci dot c o m
Y’all deserve more subs
No, archimedes' death ray was not an ancient laser. It was just an ancient case of ants under a magnifying glass. It was in no way a laser. Laser is an acronym which describes what it is, and that thing isn't burning things with light, it is just a specific kind of light generated from a specific type of process.
why is this the last video?
I love this channel but it doesn’t have much videos wish there be more 😊

I like halo master chief suit and iron man suit, their A.I is so living acting and reacting autonomous beings, like ourselves, we are like quantum computers and the very word of autonomous, is like quantum entanglement. Sloot digital coding system would support autonomous proceedings, for each end, to know what to expect. So interwoven, that it can accurately predict on what it would be. What would it take to compact files 100 million's time better than today's method's like sloot digital coding system, use to do... Maybe something like how each cell of a human body has the same dna letters each knowing the entire structure of a human body, just a few letters. Yet it can be in combinations done many different ways, just like sloot only some few coding alphabet's, each utilized in many other ways too.
What about Hero of Alexandria`s steam engine. If he had reversed its setup, had the steam exhaust stationary and hitting a turbine, it coud have revolutionized their transportation: steam ships!

Bit of a disservice to rename the Romans. They were truly Romans and the Roman empire survived, although explaining this can be difficult. I would simply call them Romans or eastern Romans, rather than Byzantines.
