“The Everglides are gonna be great on…” Names almost every plate.
This is an awesome top 5! Definitely has me interested in 3 of the switches I don't have yet (inks, creams, and kings). The keyboards however did seem to make a huge difference in sound/quality. Would you consider doing a follow up sound test video of them all set in one keyboard, or even just have each of the 5 switches in center row in each of the 5 keyboards to see a big overall comparison for how these switches sound on each keyboard/plate material? If you do a tactile top 5 that's one thing I would like to see. Great content as always and always getting me to spend money on stuff I don't "need" hahaha cheers!

Thanks for the feedback! I'll definitely be making a follow up video with these and possibly some more linear switches. Plate material is a little hard to put together. I'll have to reach out to some companies to see if I can make it happen. I'll definitely be doing the tactile version all in one keyboard though! Thanks again for the amazing feedback Joseph!

@@BTaesthetics You're welcome! Just throwing out some ideas ^_^ I've been using hot swap pcb's for a while so I forget that a lot of these high end custom keyboards require soldering which would make it quite a process to move switches around from board to board XD excited for whatever videos are coming next dude!

@@BTaesthetics Id agree with that. Putting the Alpacas on the Ducky, then other switches on the Iron165 and the Kyuu isnt fair to the switch because the Kyuu and Iron165 will sound better no matter what you put on it. Not very consistent for a sound test and people might be using to determine which switch they like.
Always a treat seeing the switches are in stock!! Awesome video as always brother
I'm kind of surprised that Creams still make it so high, since they are more used for Frankenswitches these days. Still solid, but I think there are some other linears out there that might be a higher ranking, just my opinion though. Solid list!

I've been searching throughout the internet to find specific switches with the exact information you listed all in one video! I'm going with either alpacas or aqua kings thanks to your guide. finally i can stop searching for my keyboard switches

@@TheGameDealer I went with aqua kings and didn't lube them, since they were lubed so well. If you wanna lube your own I would go with alpacas for sure, I'm thinking about getting those sometime soon too.
I recently used the Everglide Aqua Kings in a new build & they’re hands down my favorite switch! So smooth & satisfying feeling to type on, with a muted sound that still sounds so good. 👍
@Hyper1555
2 жыл бұрын
They are insane! Though 50% are a little overlubed and need break in and 20% need to be reduced of some overlubing. But they are of such high quality! Such minimal stem wobble, nice deep muted sound and high quality plastic. I was blown away after I switched from the "gold standard" gateron yellows (did not meet any of my expextations even after lubing and filming).

@@Hyper1555 I’ve heard people say that several times about the Aqua Kings, but thankfully that wasn’t my experience to date. Maybe I’ve just been lucky with a good batch (me being lucky would certainly be a first), but I just ordered more so I’m curious if that luck will continue…..

Have you tried the 55g? Thinking about going with em
I was legit spending the past 3 hours looking at linear switch comparisons, perfect timing bt 😂
First of all: Loved the Bape t-shirt. Second: just ordered some alpacas for my ID80 (I’m currently using Black Inks v2). I hope I like it. Heard good things about them
Another one I’ve been waiting for 😭 let’s go!!!
Definitely agree with everything said about the NK Creams. Took me a few weeks to break them in but once they stopped having that stock scratch a little lube made them like butter. Very strange with the weight on the stock springs too, it feels subjectively lighter than the Tealios V2s I have.
@SharrodVisuals

Are they unique sounding once broken in?
Although this is a great tier list, in my opinion, I would put the lavenders in there and in an updated version, some prevail epsilons as they are SMOOTH. Also im not quite sure whether i should go for the aqua kings or the JWK Lavenders on a TM680 as I am planning to use them stock and lube/film later if necessary
Recently made a board and got the Aqua Kings. So far I'm loving them as my first experience into the Keyboard enthusiast realm. I'll try more switches in the future!
I made creamsicles a week ago, tangerine housing cream stem, and they’re amazing, shorter bottom out, amazing sound, and incredibly smooth

That's funny because I just lubed my memesicles and put a leftover gat yellow spring in there and it's amazing
Thanks BT~ next vid like this, possible to do chapters for Switch 1/2/3/etc. Also for the sound test. Maybe don’t name the switch tho. Would be great to hop around the vid to more easily AB the switches 😊🙏🏼
Muted is how I like my linears. I grown out of loud clicky clacky keyboard sounds so that Aqua Kings is perfect for me great video!
Was literally looking for a video like this yesterday.
It may be worth noting that Gateron makes the ink switches in all the different colors, with different weighted springs accordingly. the spring in black switches is heavier than my preference.
I went with durock poms over nk creams. Very similar sound signature and waaaay smoother without any of the effort
Another great addition to the Aqua Kings: RGB is WAY brighter than on the other switches. Recently build my TM680 with Black Inks and didn't expect that it's such a big difference compared to the Aqua Kings (55g) on my Kemove Snowfox. Switched (pun not intended) immediately to Aqua Kings, this time with 62g.

What's that pendulum thing you have in the background, and where can I get it? Looks really cool!
I just saw your setup video and I have the following question. I have a pro ject carbon DC vinyl player and originally I was going to buy the Klipsch r51pm speakers. However I have seen ones that are made by Gibson and I just can resist myself and they're active reference studio monitors. If I get the Gibson studio monitors what will I need to buy to finish my setup? A preamp? Thank you very much ☺️
What's that spinning structure behind you on your desk? That thing is so cool!
What is your opinion about the pom durock. I have just ordered it for my custom keyboard. What plate will pair it perfectly
What is the moving metal thing in the background? It looks really cool and I want one for my desk!
Damn bruh, that iron165 sound test sounded fantastic man! I might have to finally build a custom keeb so I can enjoy that sound all day

Wouldnt read too much into it Iron165 is a very expensive keeb making that sound of noise is quite special hence the price. Unless you have 1.5K+ to blow on just the board then ull be fine.
I went from cherry speed silvers to nk creams to finally gateron cap yellows with the gold springs. The board i use the cap yellows on is the kbd67lite r1.
Tq! I needed a video like this 💛
Needed this for my first custom. Bless up
just got some Alpaca v2s and yeah they sound and feel freaking amazing even if it's stock. my local seller ran out of 62g variant so i bought the 67g ones and they feel too heavy for me, i think imma have to srping swap them

Got different weight aquakings from aliexpress and had no issues at all other than 50% of the switches are a bit overlubed and need break in and 20% are really overlubed and heavy and need to be opened to reduce the lube. Other than that, no problems and really amazing quality!
What keycaps were those on the iron165? Anyways amazing video
Is there any reason for me to get one of these switches instead of the gateron pro reds that I already have for gaming?
Can you please tell me what that little metal thing in the back behind you with the 2 arms?
is the problem with the aqua kings where some of the switches dont come back up all the way or slowly fixed?
Great video, I'm probably gonna buy alpacas because they are the best for my price and I think that they sound the best. But early congrats on 200K!
im not sure id recommend Filming alpacas esepcially if youre using an Fr4 plate. i used them L+F on my alpine65 but it was a pain in the ass to put them in the plate and now i cant get them out of the plate. had to buy a new pcb and got a custom POM plate to do another switch

What switch would you recommend for a wood plate?
Hello. Can someone tell me what are the differences between 55g, 62g and 67g for Aqua Kings ? Thanks
Why would you go Alpacas over Aqua King for gaming if they got same weight?
Personally, I prefer tactical switches. With that said, I do own quite a few boards with linear switches, and the aqua kings have quickly become my favorite. The black inks and milky yellows were my typical go-to until I tried the aqua kings. I've tried both factories lubed and lubed with 205g0, and I don't think there's a big enough difference in feel and sound profile for me to justify taking a couple hours to lube them. However, I am curious about their QC in the future because they're really close to over-lubing them.

how do these compare to akko linear switches?
Does anyone have suggestions on keyboards for me? I have the matrix symfuhny with blue case on order but it keeps getting delayed. I'm looking for similar colors and for a kinda blue and white theme. Also I saw some keycaps I forget which but they had like Asian characters under the English does anyone know what that's called to search for or any suggestions?
How you know someone's been into custom keyboards for a while, "Gateron black inks are my cheat code." Also, heavily modded milky top Gateron yellows are smooooooth.
what a good linear switch it has weight of 67g and thocky?
