Based on trying out a bunch of sampler switch packs from Milktooth I tend to find that peak tactile force is a more important indicator for how heavy a tactile switch feels as opposed to bottom out weight or actuation weight. On paper a TTC Silent Bluish White is substantially lighter than a Gateron BBK but if you look at the TherminGoat force curves, they have almost identical peak force and a similar bottom out weight, the size of the tactile bump is the key differentiating factor. The BBK feels heavier due to the larger, more rounded tactile bump and overall heavier spring, but not by as large an amount as the official specs would indicate. This seems true for a lot of other switches too.

Really appreciate these videos as someone just getting into building boards. This week I got four kinds of switches from you and I'm happy with them all, thanks to your concise explanations and sound tests. Plus you had em in stock for good prices with fast fulfillment. -Typed on my Xinhais from Milktooth

Just got my first order, amazing service - thank you!, of WS Heavy Tactiles - my current favorite. However I may have to try some of the beer switches soon, a light but pronounced bump sound intriguing!

The best light tactile that I've ever experienced is mostly unknown Leobog standard brown. It's very cheap but don't let the price tag fool you - it's got the least crunch, ping (a very common issue with light tactiles) of them all. I've tried the KTT Matchas and they were riddled with leaf ping and inconsistent factory lube, mostly being overlubed.

Good point about light tactiles being overlooked. I have the Kailh Pro Purples which are similar to the Akkos you mentioned. They are great for long typing sessions.

I've been loving my Silent Tactile Bluish White switches! The sound is more pronounced than the sound test makes them out to be, but it is indeed a nice pitter pat sound. Like gently rapping your fingers on a wooden tabletop.

I got the Outemu Lime silent switches from milk tooth and love it. It is ULTRA LIGHT TACTILE (35gf), very easy on fingers for all day use. Milk tooth are the only one doing these type of awesome switches education and demo. This helped me pick the better switches. Please make more videos and carry more brands. I am looking for Ultra Light Tactile switches that are thocky, prelubed, and smooth.

Ordered a few WS Light Tactile to test and was impressed with the performance. Ordered a complete set and extras because who knows when those run out. They are exceptional, one of the best switches that I ever tried. Super balanced in all areas. The only thing one can complain is the house not being RGB friendly but that is not my thing so I'm good. Oh! Ordered from them, their price and customer service are top notch.

Same here and I’ve just started using them yesterday evening. I was using really nice linear switches before but the bluish whites give me a much nicer feedback while still being extremely comfortable and silent.

love your content, ordered about 15 sets to try - i might be a kb freak as no switch i've tried thus far does what i need - a big tactile bump, and i mean sappy big, with a medium to heavy spring, and almost silent - a deep thocc would be nice, but very very subdued. still looking.. if someone has any suggestions, i'm all ears.

Yeah. I haven't seen any reviews, but pictures seem to confirm this, which is too bad because I like the specs of this one. I guess it comes to how much work do you want to put into getting these switches the way that you want them.

How does lubing the legs make a switch feel inconsistent? Assuming the lubing is consistent.

  • @muto4330

@Alan-ww8vi get one of your tactile mx switches and lube the legs of the stem similar to the video with 205. You'll notice how it feels like a linear. With a variance of lube, you'll have switches that feel less or more tactile all over your board

I was looking for light tactile switches for myself and settled on the Ajazz Banana - couldn't find anything better, they feel similar to the Boba U4T but much lighter - about 35g. Regarding the Gateron Beer switches - they have very significant wobbling, moreover, if you press them and move your finger up and down, the contact disconnects - this is unacceptable and makes them unusable. I couldn't believe right away the whole batch I bought was like that - very disappointing.

When I hear light tactile switch, I assume small tactile bump. I have never associated that term to having a light spring weight....especially if the switch has a large tactile bump like the Gateron Beer. This video is like the opposite of helpful in finding an actual light tactile switch
