    @@MORGANSMaintenance Also, on that 14-in-1 adjustable - it DID have issues with the bit carousel, I had a problem with mine and returned it. Klein has since addressed/improved all of the bit carousels including adding a center divider in the center of the carousel to keep bits from randomly falling out when you didn't have all 12 bits in the carousel when you were opening and closing it. The carousel now appears to be one single piece instead of being made up of multiple separate components. I'd like to see them improve the lockup on the shaft next... it would be amazing if it had tighter tolerances or locked up like the adjustable length screwdriver... #6 in your video.

But, those feel kind of obsolete now since you can customize the new impact 11-in-1 to have magnetic nut drivers or whatever bits you need. At least not in a way that’s fast enough for me to not be late to my next call, etc. I hope to do more of those in the future. I am still building my service call customer base, I have been doing mostly bigger jobs since I went 100% on my own (there is all you want of those where I live) The bigger jobs are almost impossible to film/work by myself and be efficient. I don’t use them that often to label myself an expert… I keep trying to find the ratcheting screwdriver that’s going to convert me. I would definitely say the 11-1 Impact is #1 because it’s the same screwdriver, but ratcheting. It also works with some of Kleins KNECT kits. #2 would be to get the Hollow Nut Drivers with the ratchet handle. They are good Nut Drivers.. but the handle can basically make a ratcheting screwdriver of any think you have with a 1/4” shaft. #3 I would go with the 13-1 Impact. The bits are more versatile than the 15-1 and the handle is slimmer #4 would be the 15-1.. it had double ended bits that are only usable in that screwdriver. The least versatile of the bunch. Those are all I have, and that’s just my opinion. I might make a video one day showing all that, but just in case you go buying before I do.

    My number one would probably be the 7-1 nut driver as that was one of my first klein screwdrivers. However, I recently upgraded to the 20-1 "super screwdriver. Klein reuses that same carousel system with their multi bit screwdrivers, making this particular failure point considerably large. Also, with these multibit screwdrivers, I've heard a few people complain about the plastic holders inside the carousel breaking, essentially rendering it useless. I would've thought they would have reinforced these pieces. I recently bought a Wera insulated multi bit screwdriver, and instead of pulling the cap off, it has spring clips you press in, and the whole carousel jolts out the back. The bits slide in and out easy, and I still think you have the spinning cap on the back to help with loosening and tightening.

  • @MORGANSMaintenance

    @MORGANSMaintenance

    Yeah, Klein does need to up their game on their bit holding. For the price they are a good bang for the buck, but you aren’t buying something that will last forever for sure. I would rather pay $10-$15 more per screwdriver and they use more metal, better plastic, or whatever is needed to make them better. Like I said, for the price they are good, but they could be better 👍

    You’ve convinced me to toss my Wera multi screwdriver into my car and switch to the Klein 11-1 for my home shop. The Wera does a lot of what the Klein does but I haven’t really warmed to the handle. Try as I may, I don’t find it comfortable. Loving that Lowe’s is selling Klein now so I had put the tools on my hand. And my last name is Klein (no relation) but I always feel like these tools have been personalized. Speaking of video ideas, do you have a go to brand of work gloves?

    I normally wear the Cut level one type gloves just for general use. Typically I wear the Milwaukee Ones because i like them, but mainly I catch them on sale and buy a bunch of them. I have also tried and like the Maxiflex www.amazon.com/dp/B075D31Q8R/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_GJ6E920N2GMX8N2B4Z10?linkCode=ml2&tag=jmorg198002-20 I may even like them better than the Milwaukee, but they cost a little more than the Milwaukee ones on sale. I occasionally wear demo gloves, leather gloves, etc… but these type typically work for me for about anything, and I can still feel what I am doing. There isn’t really much I do in this style glove that makes jobs frustrating. That’s cool that all your tools are automatically personalized👍

    My take is a little different. I try to not use a manual screwdriver every chance I get. My first goto is some type of battery screwdriver or impact. My next in order is the Hazet 810-R4. Best ratchet screwdriver I have ever used. Last is a manual driver. I have one Klein in my bag and that's the 7in1 for the sockets. I have the Vessel ball grips in the bag too. I also have the Vessel battery bit holder with the Vessel bit kit in my bag.

    I use other things besides these first as well in certain applications. All tools have their certain place. I use impacts/installation drivers when I can, but certain tasks have to be done (or should be done) by hand.. or at least something with clutch settings, limits torque, etc. The battery screwdrivers are good for that. Certain times space for an impact to fit is the limiting factor, although they keep getting smaller to fit in about any space. Appreciate you sharing your thought 👍👍

    Nice video. Klein is on a tear right now, everything is getting more and more modular, and importantly, modular using 1/4" hex as the base. You can combine a bunch of their things now and build the perfect screw/nut driver for your needs, and it isn't all necessarily proprietary thanks to a lot of 1/4" hex. It's a great system so far and I'm interested in more Klein stuff than ever before

    They have been doing some great things over the last few years. Their quality on their screwdrivers may not be the “same” as they once was, but they are adding a lot of moving parts on them for functions. That makes them more prone for problems, especially keeping them at an affordable price point. But their multi function screwdrivers have solved a lot of storage issues in bags for sure 👍

    #6 is by far my favorite because it locks with no play! Though not used much anymore because of other brands taking over out of any klein screwdriver I that pile it will always have a place for me. Like in last videos the 27 in 1 precision is only ok.... the bit retention in the handle will loosen up over time and you dump all thoes bits on the floor. It's a jester of all trades master of none but it has almost everything in one package. I was sad they discontinued #6 and no new advances of other blades for it (both the handle and blades were made in USA no global materials). I would have about died if they made a blade for it that was comb 1/2 aka ecx and it would still be in my bag daily.

  • @MORGANSMaintenance

    @MORGANSMaintenance

    3 ай бұрын

    Couldn’t agree more on #6 and the ECX. That’s why I couldn’t have the list without it, its handle was the first one that I started getting creative with making my own screwdrivers. I assume that will happen on the 27-1, but I don’t change/use those precision bits as often… hopefully mine will last some time. The handle size and the “all in one” package makes it super nice for a main bag. I will still probably use 4-1 on service bags.

    Yea don't drop the 27 on 1 open it's 52 pickup.... I don't use mine much but the quality of the newer handle bit holders are not heirloom. I just have to accept once a year or 2 $20 to keep all thoes precision bits at hand is what it is. We do what we can for space if I was a heavy thermostat tweeker I'd be using my pb swiss or wera daily.
