@@Recarsonatedafter replaying subspace and starting mother 3, I now agree with this And I think I realized why he was the only one, and it’s likely because mother 3 wasn’t localized, so subspace ended up being a way of telling his story. I really love the way lucas was shown in subspace

My headcanon to Sonic arriving so late is that he wasn't really even a part of this world at first. But once Subspace fused everything and started messing with multiple worlds, it dragged him in. And despite having no idea what was going on, it didn't stop him from quickly arriving to the main threat and taking it on himself with zero hesitation or struggle. That to me just embodies Sonic as a character perfectly. No self-cynical sarcasm or gloating, no standing around doing nothing, just getting straight to doing the right thing... and in the coolest way possible.

Gotta love how some characters got mini-arcs that were reflections of their games best cases for me: Diddy Kong mirroring his lead role in DK Country 2 (shame K.Rool wasn't here yet) Lucas surpassing his shy nature and getting confidence in himself to take action like at the end of Chapter 3 in Mother 3 and King Dedede reprising his role in Kirby's Adventure/Nightmare in Dream Land with playing hero by himself and creating a misunderstanding cause of it.

Causing Chaos when he intends on doing good is kinda Dedede’s thing though right?

@@therealagfeild I mean Thanos did wipe out half the universe and you could say Tabuu does something similar towards the end of the Subspace Emissary when he wipes out the entire roster sans Ness, Luigi, and Dedede (who were already turned into trophies prior to that event in the game and end up being revived after it) and also Sonic (who just appears out of nowhere to stop Tabuu from one-hit-killing the entire roster a second time and greatly weakening him to where his off-waves attack isn’t powerful enough to wipe out the entire roster as easily as he did the first time)!

Sonic is the kid who comes in last minute but SOMEHOW gets 10/10 on the test first time

I mean, Dedede's role in SSE is basically exactly what he did in Kirby's Adventure, including the part where he flat out refuses to explain himself ever. Except in Adventure this backfired horribly on him because his refusal to explain why he was doing what he was doing ended up causing Kirby to unknowingly free Nightmare. And honestly, my favorite arcs in Subspace were Samus and Pikachu and Lucas and Pokemon Trainer.

Luigi made more of a contribution to stopping Tabuu while Mario ran around haphazardly.

"So nice of Sakurai to make all the _Kirby_ characters so powerful in _Smash."_ I know, it's almost like all three of them are his children! I love how Subspace's "unlikely team-ups" ended up being so iconic they pretty much seeped into the _Smash_ zeitgeist. Not all of them obviously, but I don't think anyone bats an eye at Meta Knight hanging out with most of the _Fire Emblem_ characters (but especially Marth and Ike) thanks to this mode. Same with Samus and Pikachu (though I think Samus having already experienced a not-dissimilar arc in her own series with the Baby Metroid probably helped). Even Bowser and Ganondorf's animosity with each other is still around a bit. The crossover interactions were the best part, really, as evidenced by people continuing to do it even when crossover cutscenes weren't a thing anymore (especially after _Ultimate_ came out and brought *everyone* back). I definitely remember there being quite a bit of art of Samus and Little Mac following the latter's announcement trailer, and didn't the fanbase decide for a while that Lucina had a crush on Meta Knight (which was super weird for me personally as I still didn't know a damn thing about _Fire Emblem_ at the time and kinda shipped MK with Samus for a while 😅)? _Ultimate's_ cases were really special; I absolutely loved that one comic implying that Incineroar fought Ken to avenge Little Mac because he used to be a Litten that Mac took care of and he was just being protective of his old trainer. Some characters didn't even need to interact to get fanbase crossover love. Ridley getting an attachment to Pichu to contrast Samus and Pikachu was adorable, and that period of time where everyone treated Ridley and K. Rool as best friends was absolutely magical. Even the less prominent ones like Kazooie and Mythra's rivalry are extremely fun (people really said "hey these two are huge bitches in their own games, they'd probably be huge bitches to each other lol let's run with that"), and I think that's beautiful. Also as an Aspie, hearing the phrase "Dedede gets the reward for being the most autistic hero ever" made me absolutely lose it 🤣

I’m just curious as to how Sonic even entered Subspace, considering it’s surrounded by water, y’know, one of Sonic’s greatest fears 😆

😂 Hasn't ever stopped him before. Even before he 3D he ran on water in through it. Did you really forget he said he was and IS an adventurer? Only people in that cast that seeks and goes on constant adventurers are Mario, Link's, Sonic, Ness, Luigi, Kirby that's it in Brawl. Everyone else has journey but they reached a end for a goal then just stops.

It’s very strange how characters like Wolf, Toon Link and Jigglypuff are nowhere to be seen in the story. I would have liked to see Wolf as a potential villain or how Jigglypuff interacts with other characters.

If they had a more important role I’d imagine that: Wolf would should up in the Swamp instead of Bowser for a second time Toon Link would show up in the Forest Jigglypuff would appear in the Ruined Zoo Sonic could show up in a number of place, although for fear of repetition I’ll personally go with the Plain

Wolf should've been the one that took over the Halberd. That could also explain why Fox was so hellbent on attacking the Halberd throughout the story, and that storyline could've ended with a fox/falco vs wolf battle after Duon.

I think Meta Knight is the one of the Heros cause he saved Lucas and Pokemon Trainer from that explosion when Galeon exploded

I think an honorable mention should be given to Falco. He had one of the best character entrances by saving Fox from Bowser and destroying the latter's Dark Cannon. Then, Falco helps Diddy Kong reach the floating platform to rescue DK by dropping him out of his Arwing. Later, Falco makes a last second addition to the fight with Duon.

9:19 - 10:17 this proves how Kirby could solo ANY VERSE and even beat shadow the hedgehog!

I'll never forget when I saw Sonic pull up against Tabuu and was so hyped to use him....And then I ended up finding him so lame that I never played as him for the rest of my playing Brawl

I'm still a little upset that you don't fight Ganondorf or the Ancient Minister in the SE, especially since I know some good places for such fights.

I know I’m late to this video but I’d really like another video like this, im not sure what else you would do but the style of this video really grabs my attention

Captain Falcon should get an honorable mention for saving the entire bomb factory crew with the Blue Falcon and being one of the pilots in the assault on the gunship

I loved lucas diddy kong and pokemon trainer in this. WE LITERALLY HAD TO BATTLE POKEMON to fill up his arsenal

Not nessesarily the best heroes, but some of my favorite moments ocurr with characters like Ice Climbers and Meta Knight, Olimar and Falcon, and of course, Mr. Game & Watch With Ice Climbers and Meta Knight it's just fun to see Meta Knight climbing the mountain in chase of his stolen ship, and then Popo and Nana took it as a challenge to see who could climb the fastest, and they won, with Meta Knight looking a little sour about it Olimar and Falcon's adventure trough the Ancient island to take out the Bomb Factory was pretty fun, with Falcon accidentally killing all but one of his Pikmin in the search for a flashy entrance, and then jumping off the cliff with Olimar in hand just for a quick route was fun as well, not to mention both captains pilot 2 of the 5 ships used to infiltrate The Subspace And then Mr. Game & Watch just inmediately changing sides because he got slightly scolded by peach was precious, I especially enjoyed it after learning trough the Smash Dojo that G&W joined the Subspace Army because he's a moron, and it's the same reason he was so easy to reason with by the heroes

Love the teir list But Dedede Was Baiting Wario for the other trophies

What a cool idea, for me: 10 rob My boy Rob had one of the best arc game, from main villian as a traidor that joins the heroes 9 Diddy Kong I have alway thought that Diddy is a better character that dk, I was happy when he was the main character in his own arc with a cute friendship with fox, falco and dk and a cool rivality with bowser 8 Sonic Maybe it was a moment but what a moment we all know that he was the one that beats tabu 7 Ness Such a badass one of the trio that survive in the end I consider ness the most important one, he also was everything that lucas wanted to be, brave and strong, when he returened in the end he was the one that saves Dedede 6 Samus She also was kinda of a main charcter of his own story, fighting against dark samus getting her suit back, fighting against Ridley and metal Ridley the only think I compalin its that when captan falcon joins she is negelected to the background 5 Fox Maybe Diddy was the main character of the jungle story, but fox stole the show act like a cool father figure for Diddy, he called for falco as a backup, fighting aginst Rayquaza, also when the jungle story is over fox plays a important rol in the Halberd airship 4 Meta Knight The swordsman Trio had to be on the top, while I really like the three swiordsman Metaknight has to be the most important one, his ship plays a major role in all the storys as constant threath, he is probably the one character that has join in more teams that anyone else (the swordsman trio, the ice climbers, the airship trio and the anti dual team)he also save lucas and red life 3 Lucas Lucas had the best character arc of all he starts as a coward kid to a hero that is willing to die for his friend, he has the best rivality with wario and a great relationship with ness 2 Mario One of the main characters, he is kinda the lider out of the 5 protagonis gruop, he also has so many badass moment like his fight with kirby, link, and a small confrotation with bowser and the ancient minister 1 Kirby Everything you said

I'm gonna say before watching, I *assume* 1st place would be Dedede, simply because of his lil badge things that brought some of the trophied fighters back.

I wish they make a sequel for the next smash game but that is probably won’t happen since Sakurai was so butt-hurt that people were uploading the cutscenes onto KZread.

Kirby really deserves the #1 spot.

Of course Nintendo would have Kirby save the Smash-verse (twice). It was his namesake, John Kirby (RIP 10/22/1939 - 10/02/2019), who defended Nintendo against Universal and won the case in the early 80's. Plus Masahiro Sakurai created Kirby so of course he's a fan of the Kirby franchise.

Funny thing is Luigi, Ness and King DeDeDe should’ve been in one entry

To me, Luigi, Ness and King Dedede in this mode are like Anger, Fear and Disgust in Inside Out because: 1. Anger and King Dedede act as the leaders of their groups and have been shown to be meaner and do more bad things than their teammates. Anger put an idea bulb into the console and King Dedede put badges on Luigi, Ness and Zelda/Peach. Anger caused Riley's Islands of Personality to collapse and King Dedede revived and fought Bowser before getting him to join their team. 2. Luigi and Fear are tall, skinny and easily scared often. 3. Ness and Disgust are shown to be smarter than their teammates. When Joy and Sadness returned to headquarters, Disgust was hit w/ an idea: she made fun of Anger until flames poured out of his head. Those flames were used to make a hole in the window to let Joy and Sadness back in. When Luigi and Ness were revived by the Dedede badges, Ness took one of them off Luigi's nose, looked at it, saw the King Dedede trophy, put the pieces together in his head, realized he and Luigi were revived by Dedede and revived him before they rescued all the other characters. Also, Disgust is not the same gender as her teammates and Ness was playable in a level his teammates weren't playable in. 4. For a period of time, Luigi, Ness and Dedede were the only playable characters remaining and Anger, Fear and Disgust were the only emotions left in headquarters.

My very first smash game was brawl and I enjoyed the story

Sakura choses Kirby characters because at the time of the first smash game Sakura was also making Kirby games
