Just watched Charlize Theron in "Atomic Blonde" tonight. Of all the female assassins, she was by far the most physical... SERIOUSLY bad ass, like the female version of John Wick. She had one fight scene that rivaled anything I have seen a man do, but in high heels. Major, hardcore fighting skills. Charlize's talents are unending. That said, my #1. choice for best female assassin MUST be "La Femme Nikita," starring a superb Anne Parrilaud, for so many important reasons. First of all, *she was the first and original,* the pioneer of the genre. And second, for the best action and acting skills in the same role, nobody did it better. Her believable performance brought a level of humanity to the entire film that NO ONE ELSE has ever surpassed-a combination of raw, feline energy and feminine vulnerability that I've never seen in a hit lady film, before or since. I'm only surprised that Ms. Parrilaud's career never achieved the promise or success that she should have had.

Do you maybe know a name of a movie maybe from mid 90s or early 2000s. It's about blonde girl who are a soldier/ cop who was shot in head by her boyfriend because she declined to work for his rogue criminal group. She has a bullet in her head that couses headache, blury vision and unconsciousness. She refuses to go on operation until she sucsseed in her revenge. She is great marksman and fighter.

@@CorsetGrace Atomic Blonde was my favorite female ACTION MOVIE, too. But that's all it was, like I said, like "John Wick" with ovaries. But as far as "spy movies" is concerned, not as great as many others. There is much more to being a spy than kicking ass, in fact, most spies look like insurance salesmen and have similar lifestyles. The entire idea of being a spy is not to stand out like Pierce Brosnan.

No.. Le Femme Nikita.. Have you ever been in a real fistfight? Bare hand full on fights doesn't last long like those in Atomic Blonde. @@christophermccarthy884 You can only dodge so much, sooner or later you get hit, then you get hit more often. That she gets hit, uses what ever is available to amplify her attacks and still comes away with bruises and exhausted is something rarely seen. And much of the fight scene was done in one long take then repeated for a different camera makes it quite a feat for Theron who did much of her fights with her stunt double over only for the jumps and more risky falls.

@@pogo1140 everything you say is correct up to a point. Not only did she fail to dodge, but she didn't cover or deflect. A large man would have trouble getting back up after 3 of those hits landing cleanly. A woman weighing over 50 lbs less than her attacker MAY have been able to get up after one, but not two and three was completely in the realm of bullshit. If you have ever had a real fight like that, you would have been disappointed, I was...and I love that actress. The choreography was just sub-par.

That movie had one the most terrible and sudden endings I’ve ever seen lol. It was like someone had an idea for a movie but no real script. So they hired miss Scarlet and just made it up as they went along. Then with no clue as to how to end it they just sort of stopped filming and called it a day lol. It reminded me of any one of the dozen or so movies Bruce Willis has done lately. They pay him a million or two to show up for a couple of days filming then send it straight to DVD or Netflix because they know all of us die hard (pun intended) Bruce fans will watch just about anything that has his name on it. It’s actually a pretty sad way to end a career that has included some of the best action films of the last 30 years. I don’t know why he does those films other than the pay check, maybe he needs the money or something. I would have thought he had plenty by now but who knows maybe he lost it all in the stock market or something. lol

A government assassin hit squad throwing wild wide looping punches just so their arm could be blocked or caught by their opponent mid swing, the opponent not following through with their takedowns, fumbling with their weapons in the middle of a fist fight, stalking their opponent with their arms almost fully outstretched with their weapons drawn as they walk past a doorway, turning and exposing their back to their opponent also in the middle of a fight etc., etc. I know we supposed to suspend belief when watching these movies but come on the fight scene should have been more "realistic". Atomic Blonde reminds me of my second wife. In college, she defeated every other person, all men, in the fencing club. The only lover who has ever physically challenged me without flinching. Oh, yeah- she taught Adult Basic Education including GED studies for the Illinois Department of Corrections. Quite a woman.

In regards to kill Bill this is like I describe some sort of movies/ stories- like kind of plastic and by this description I mean like story unrealistic to happen in real life like kind of surrealistic story and Atomic Blonde was so down to graund by the fact that it was settled in such a brutal times and was so realistically showing the matter of a problem and it was good it stays in you and it's letting you think or like in my case overthink but anyway it's good as is forcing you to some reflection. If movie is forcing you to reflection that means that it was worth of effort of its creators. Sorry for my English if all I am writing in here is not understandable for some of you. I am self Lerner so probably my gramma isn't perfect and lack of vocabulary isn't helping at all. Ps. I was lost after "Carol".. it was brilliant. Extraordinary.. Few weeks just gone.. good one.. there is so many movies I had no time to wach.. it's a pity.. now I have to watch "the time to come" or something like that not sure if I can recall the title correctly. For me is like a must see. I just need to come back to myself and choose all those strange movies ;)

5 great movies! I've watched all 5 many times. For me to really enjoy a movie, there has to be a cute actress (so no male prison movies for me) so this category is nearly a given. Two cute Africans (South African and Algerian) in #5. The only movie I don't have on DVD/BD. My favorite of the 5 has been The Long Kiss Goodbye (#4) ever since I bought it on VCD in Hong Kong 20 years ago. I've got the DVD now as well. It's one of 105 movies with Samuel L. Jackson, that I've watched. I must have watched it 20-30 times. Bought #3 on BD in Transylvania.
