I have the second gen joyride, the dual run. I got those for like 30 bucks. Been using it everyday even in the rain i think the second gen doesnt have that water leak problem. I tried to evade the puddles so dont wanna risk it. But so far its fine. But if payin full retail i tthink the react or oegasus line is far worth it than the dual run

I was gonna say the same thing. I wear mine everyday and have had no problems. I started with them indoors on the treadmill but I’ve definitely been outside all summer

Super video. I had the 1st version of Joyride and the water problem was annoying. It even left brown stains on the shoes once it was dry. The sole eventually exploded in the middle of an hotel hall. I looked ridiculous collecting the beads from the floor one by one. Beautiful sneakers but the joy was short 😪

That's a funny sight to imagine. A guy in a hotel hall picking up his tiny beads from his burst up shoes.

I have multiple joyrides and consider them the best at damping spine shock, crucial for my injuries. My only complaint is this level of damping absorbs more energy (converts to friction) than other designs and over time I can feel the heat building up. I otherwise consider them a huge design success as no other shoe works that same magic.

Nike Shox are responsible for me turning a simple sprain ankle into completely torn ligament. That extra stack height allows the ankle to turn that much more under 😩 it hurt like a mother F er!

This gives me some nostalgia, I feel like this happened to someone when I was a kid, or it was a playground rumour. I begged my mum for the Shox back in the day and my friend made fun of me when I got them, then one day he got some too lol.

i have the OG Joyrides and me personally i love them still to this day. i can see why a lot of people don’t like it and why it failed but i think it was a pretty comfy shoe that you could rock here and there. but if you had to be in them for a while without moving like in a desk job or school then they started feeling weird.

😂😂 joyride felt really comfortable on foot but man once you wore it down the beads jail breaked out my shoes big time .

The reason why nike failed on joyride is because they used poor beads materials. We started customising beads shoes early 2018 before nike introduced joyride in 2019.

I remember sitting in class being bored and sticking my pencil through the shox😂

In the last 9 years owned about 10 pair of shox shoes, as I had back problems and walking on concrete for an hour would give me lower back pain bought shox and loved them, the comfort, fit and looks were great in my opinion my favorites were nz version had about 5 of them but did have few other designs but nz seemed the most reliable(wore them about 10hrs a day) Sadly after they discontinued the nz line has been impossible to get new ones as my size is uk12. Still have 3 pairs left all different models. Now with a person with back issues they were great tried many different designs from puma, Adidas, lacoste, Nike, scetchers also basketball versions but nothing to me was as good as shox nz.

I wish they'd retro the Nike pumps again. I had a pair of the Command Force as a kid, and I would proudly rock them today

There’s also the Huarache Adapts. The blue Jordan 11 Adapts are under retail but the white original ones are still over retail.

yeea i have adapt Jordan 11’s and air max’s…i NEVER wear the J’s lol maybe 3-4 times in a year, the air max’s i wore ONCE 😂 now they both just sit. the back of the air max soles stick out like a full inch behind your heel. awkward to get used to plus its a weird plastic material and scuffs super easily…just hate them lol

I played ball in my Shox BB4s the other day and they're still a really good basketball shoe. The Shox columns give you incredible stability and it's almost impossible to turn your ankle in them.

I low key love the second gen joyrides. They’re so unbelievably comfy

The Hyperadapt self lacing technology is just the Puma Disc technology from decades earlier with the disc hidden underneath instead of on top. ❤

I wore my og joyrides since release super hard and I didn't have the leaking out the back problem. But the insole got destroyed so a bunch of holes on the inside leaked beads. I really liked those shoes but I had to retire them because of that.

Love the shox! The running shoes were really comfortable. The bball ones are not as much!

I remember having a pair of Shaq Reebok shoe's that had a valve on them where you could attach some kind of device to air them up. I can vaguely remember the device itself, but I'm quite certain it was sold separately, and I believe it had a CO2 like cartridge on one end, and the female like nozzle on the other. It was what you used to connect to the valve on the shoes, and then squeeze some sort of trigger to pump up the shoes.

Apart from the Jordan 11 adapts, I have all adapts. I really like them. The adapt automax is the most comfortable of the series. I think Nike will continue their selflacing stuff, but they will never be common daily wear for consumers with these price tags

I gotta pair of redwings with that wire lace like the self tying shoe. But it’s got a spin tightener on them you pull the knob to loosen and twist the knob to tighten the wire. So I see that wire being used just not the electrical side of it. Maybe too expensive

Can't agree with Shox being on the list. It did take off and it was very popular while it lasted. I personally couldn't care for it but it was a success nonetheless. If Shox is to be on the list because the rationale is "Air cushioning is still around but Shox ain't," this list is going to be a heck of a lot longer.

Adapt technology can go somewhere if they charge an earthly pricepoint for it.

I want Nike to keep working on Nike Adapt because perfecting that and having that technology would be so impressive and would put Nike in a class by itself

Nike brought out the pump tech again in the Nike React Boot. Also one of those shoes only a handful of people bought even on stock x they are not popular

I have a pair of the Nike ISPA Envelopes in black and will say they're ridiculously comfortable. Very odd shoes though, so I only wear them when I'm in the mood to have a lot of attention drawn to me.

I kinda disagree on the self lacing shoes. I have a pair of the adapt BB 2.0’s and they’re the most comfortable shoes I own. The self lacing tech is extremely convenient, everyone always has questions so if you’re looking for something to switch it up they’re a nice way to do it. For me personally on iOS, I don’t have issues with the shoes syncing, set up etc. They always work and never get it wrong. At least for me in my frequent use.

Also the Nike Shox TL is like one of the lost worn shoes in Brazil it's very hyped over there

I owned an og pair of joyrides and loved them to the point where it became my work shoe of choice for standing 12hrs. Still sad I ran them down to the point where the balls were leaking inside the shoe because the insole ripped of high mileage

Just payed $37.00 for the Last hyper adapt in blue SZ 10 at Nike outlet Orlando yesterday

As a guy who always loved futuristic design kix, adapt's arrival was great but it released too many too frequently with the huarache and the am90 insp after the bb and many went to outlets so ppl began percieving as an outlet shoe. Second, for a kix that requires maintanence and high price point it didnt generate enough hype like the foamposites back then, when it was mysteriously released in small numbers. The nail in the coffin was the jordan 11 adapt, not an og colorway to please the oldheads, not affordable or hyped for the youngheads. I remember when the jordan futures dropped 8-9 years ago at least it was pretty hyped at first with limited releases, altho the overall availability of jordans was much smaller than now too Maybe a collab with apple wouldve had a small but fierce fanbase from the apple lovers

I’m kinda sad that they don’t make shox anymore cause i wasn’t into fashion while they came out and i really like how the shox tl looks

I guess the biggest failure of Nike is the quality control being all over the place and cursed to hell since 2018 *cough let's forget about 2012 and 2010 plastic Jordan's tho* But yeah the price are a jokes and the quality too...

I had the Shox XT in black. Got them for around $50. They were awesome. Then got the Cortez inspired Shox in white and I'm blue and red but I've never seen that colour way online anywhere. Problem with Shox is the pilar itself wasn't very forgiving. If they could update the tech there's still a place for them other than for nostalgia.

I got a pair of the joyride CC which I think was the better looking model outta of the joyride line, but I hate the fact that they only made those with two beads pods instead of 3 & the arch design structure made it too stiff, so after browsing around the mall for a few hrs my foot was hurting so yeah very uncomfortable shoe.
