I know the usual 5-10 year investment timescale projections freak people sometimes. However, would love to hear what sets/cards you think we might be talking about from this era in 20 years!!!

Another video with some really good points, I’ve never thought about some of the categories you presented as factors to consider whilst buying. The top chase card was easy enough to consider into the price but the reasoning behind the other two is sound. Some brilliant advice I will personally take heed of. Have you done a video on price ceilings and when to sell? What I fear for my own collection is at it appreciates over time, the more value an item gets, the customer base for said item shrinks. When investing in Pokémon sealed, the wise choice is to buy in smartly but another consideration would be when to sell. Where would you say the cut off point is to sell some of these up items? I would love to pick your brain on that :)

Another great video, and like the categories and methodology used. You got me there for a second on the Battle Styles (I blame the apple juice). Would you say as rule of thumbs, one could apply similar methodology to ETB's and 3 pack blisters? Or have you seen things that contradict this? (still find it weird how one can pick up an ETB for same or similar price to 9 booster packs of the same set). Continue what you are doing. These clips are just great!

Hey dude, thanks so much. SWSH ETB and onwards have been moving differently to ETB in the past so far. They are not rising as fast as the booster boxes, and in some cases, the per pack price is 30-40% less than the booster. I think we still have such a surplus of inventory on most ETB that this will continue for a while. As streamers and collectors look for the cheapest way to open these sets, the ETB supply will slowly disappear, and it should level out. 3 pack Blisters should follow a similar logic. I'd be targeting ones with A+ or S Tier Pokemon. Thanks for watching!

Hey, thank you for watching. Astral was #6 based on these criteria. Super close. I love that ser personally. Machamp getting his groceries is also a super fun card. And that Misty should do really well. I didn't look at print runs at all because I don't have verifiable data there. But I believe it missed the big print runs of those later sets. Does Astral rank higher in your personal list?

I picked up some boxes of Fusion Strike, Lost Origin and Brilliant Stars a little while ago as well as some Chilling Reign ETB’s tbh I think chilling is over rated but that’s just because I don’t care about the Pokémon in the chase cards and blaziken which is a cool Pokémon I’m just not a fan of the alt art style

I’m really thinking of either doing silver tempest, or lost origin. The prices are low enough I can purchase product. I’m definitely leaning towards lost origin based off everything you said. I know no one truly knows what wil happen but it’s promising

I’ve started to notice that people are picking up fusion strike at a higher price in the last 30 days. As a store, I like to have old sets in stock. I won’t be able to restock as they are out of stock at distribution even at their higher secondary market price. Chilling Reign did the exact same thing 6 months ago. They are following the same trend.

Rob, fantastic video bud 🎉 i want to add one set that is in my opinion, probably the more of the sleeper sets of the Sword & Shield era: Astral Radiance. Astral would not have scored high on your singles price rankings, but the set as a whole for sealed has been going up👀 no one really wants this set either it seems like, so in my mind im grabbing that before people find a want for the set. One thing to look at from Astral is Starmie V Trainer Gallery. Its surpassed the alternate arts and is now the top chase. Lets hope Garchomp & Cynthia get the same treament🎉 Thoughts on Astral? Should we invest? Maybe we will see an Ast. Rad video down the line💯

Hey Rob, think you’re great and love your content but disagree with how you calculated this (but still agree with your #1 Lost Origin). For popular sets going out of print , the current price is usually based on pokemon center stock (why fusion strike just jumped after selling out) and printing (why crown zenith is so cheap). For that reason I would have gone with current buy price = higher score , as the difference between a silver tempist booster box (at $123) vs Chilling Reign (at $185) is 50%. Unless chilling reign appreciates significantly more than silver tempist that will make a huge difference long term. Sorry for long rant but I’d love to see more list like this , but would def want lower current price to get a higher score unless it’s only low because it’s unpopular (battle styles).

Good question. The criteria I chose was just that they are under the $200 threshold. The thinking here is that they will all do well past that point and the difference of 40 to 70 likely won't matter in the long run. How would you rank these 5?

I seriously think I’ve seen about 15 channels make this exact same video. Weird time for Pokémon content creators. No crazy scams or influencer pushes going on, and scarlet violet is so universally agreed upon as not worth investing in right now, there just isn’t anything new to talk about. Wish someone would push the envelope a little. Poke oz did a whole video about the best artwork of the og 151 Pokémon and built his dream super set. Stuff like that maybe?

Sealed product is a type of investment and a very steady one at that. In the long run all pokemon booster boxes go up in value.
