TOP 5 Bluegill Sunfish Lures

Спорт

When I lived in Arkansas I lived for the summers and going down to the creek and seeing what kind of fish we could get into and have a different exploring adventure everytime. We would wear fanny packs back then, ha I know and we would load little boxes full of panfish and smallmouth lures. We would go wade and walk and see what lure would produce the most fish and it was a competition between me and some friends everytime we would go. These 5 lures are the lures that we used over a long time of figuring out what the fish would be most likely to hit. Let me know in the comments section if you agree with my selection or if you fish with these lures too.

YES the best lure imo is the rooster tail! Caught tons of bluegill and even some bass on them. I can't believe you didn't mention a wacky or ned rig! They're another two of my favs that I find work well when the fish aren't being aggressive enough to chase down the rooster tail.

My fav is definitely the crank, love getting that reaction bite, especially since I catch more red breast and green sunfish than bluegill. The swimbait is my fav for multi species, I’ve caught a ridiculous amount of cats on them and a ton of bass, both my pb bass and cat were on swimbaits... my #1 confidence lure... with the Ned rig in second... caught cats and sunfish on those too...

Those are all big lures. For micro finesse fishing the smaller the better. Tiny curly tail jigs, flies and the fly with spinner blade, the smallest kastmaster, surface popping bugs, the rubber leg ones and my favorite is the super secret hard to find daredevil as big as your fingernail with the double hooks. The knot has to be centered for it to work. Of course there's always bait too. Worms, grubs and cheapest bread balls. Little bits of frozen shrimp are easy. Carry and stay on the hook better than bread. As an elite fishing snob I used to look down on Master baiters but there's something relaxing about watching the bobber or rod tip and waiting patiently versus casting your arm off. Lots of lunkers caught on cut bait or a nightcrawler.

If your just getting into artificial small 1/16 or 1/8 oz jig with a small grub is probably one of the best ways to catch them under a bobber. You have to give it little pops and let it sit. Imagine a small minnow slowly darting in the water and throw it near cover and you should have some good luck. I hope that helps bud.
