It's definitely the best biplane at the lowest BR but the French have the best monoplane at the lowest BR, the D.501 with it's Hispano cannon. That cannon one shots armored cars and pill boxes like nothing and it also has 4 .30 cals to shred everything else :D

Try out the ki 27 otsu, it's a monoplane with a better Turnrate than the Russian biplanes and climbs extremely well up to 3k. Only downside is it only has 2 7.7mm guns but with that Turnrate it doesn't matter. Getting shot is harder than not getting shot in this plane

@@kricker8562 In case 7.7mms are not powerful enough you can go for Ki-43. It flies just amazingly and has pretty good armament. Two 7.7mms when stock on the 1st variant, can be upgraded to two 12.7mms. Two 12.7mms on the 2nd variant. Two 20mms on the 3rd variant.

The I-153 wooden construction made most ww2 era anti aircraft ammunation mostly in-effective against it as most rounds failed to detonate when hitting its wooden parts. It made shooting them down particularly annoying for the germans especially during the night and when visibility was poor.

for AP ammunition yes. this was also noted in the hurricane Mk 1 with its cloth rear frame. however, like said hurricane Mk 1, it would probably have been susceptible to incendiary and tracer rounds.

The 20mm Chaika, it must be said, is one of the best planes in the game. It is genuinely OP and in my experience sets everything on fire

I like the Gladiator MKII because with the 4 guns is is easy to take out most enemies.

Nice to see low tier stuff getting featured! Tier-1 AB is the most fun I have with aircraft, despite my love for supersonics.

I-153P is my favorite biplane just for the fact that it can hold up to even higher brs than its br range because alot of players underestimate it even if they do know this particular plane is good, they'd have quite a hard time before managing to scrub you off

Swordfish is the best bi plane seeing as it can exceed it's "maximum"altitude of 3300 meters and climb past 10,000 meters

love the new wing tip vortices, the old vapor trails definitely needed replacement.

We would love to see ww1 aviation enter the game. Especially in sim battles (maybe with a tiny map with loads of action in the trenches) photo recon planes, bombers and fighters would all be great 0.0Br :)

Hawker Fury series and Avia B.534 are among my favorites. The Gladiator and Italian Fiat Cr.32/42 biplanes too.

Good speed, good agility, good top speed and, good sturdiness. If the Ki-10 had better guns, it would be in this top 5! Back in the early days of the game, it was able to hover when climbing up at 90 degrees from the ground! The I-15 is probably the best reserve aircraft in the game.

Beautiful. I was actually on my seat waiting for the F3F to show up, and its bronze-place is truly deserved, maybe even higher. I can't tell you how many adventures and successes I've shared with the F3F, and to have it as early as it is gained in the game is almost unfair. But it's not. F3F supremacy.

Friggin love the I-153P. Such a little troll and REALLY punishes those stupid enough to turn fight it (A lot of players seriously try that, like really man?) and those 20mm cannons will tear up anything like ripping a phone book with your bare hands. Oh and can't forget the night witch PO-2 that's 2-OP

The swordfish is so good that it was too cool for this list

I have slain jets in both GRB and ARB with the chaika 7.62 The RBS-82 has also helped me wreck MBTs and occasionally big bombers (once I took a fighter jet down with the RS-82)

Surprised the Swordfish wasn't mentioned. It isn't a fighter, sure, but it works wonders in Naval! The Hs 123 is fun too!

My favourite Bi-plane is without a doubt the I-153P Chaika due to those sweet sweet 2x 20mm cannons

1. F3 F2 2. CR32 Quatter : the double 12.7 mm in level "reserve" are extraordinary (You touch, you destroy). I'm not a good pilot but I have a lot of fun with it

Gladiator and F3F are my worst enemies. You'll often see me going for them specifically even if i have easier targets to shoot down.

How would the Gladiator face off with the Fiat CR - 42 if both were flown by perfectly - matched and equally - determined and skilled pilots? My bet would be on the CR - 42!

It's the Po-2 unironically. In Sim battles I rarely ever get shot down. I fly so low and slow most players don't see me and if they do they can't stay on my tail.

as a person who loves small and agile planes yeah perfect list for me

To be honest I use the he 51s sometimes to grind SL but it’s mostly the I 15s and i153

LOVE Biplanes and if I could I'd own one too :D

All the I-15s are leagues ahead of every other biplane, except maybe the F3F, despite being reserve aircraft.

I can’t go wrong with an F3F. It’s simple, but I guess I need to fiddle around with the controls to stop zooming in and getting scoped-locked I guess. I mean, it’s decently fast like they say, and hilarious to fight with since it has guns on the lesser side, making it torture a plane more than kill it. When you do inevitably get in a dogfight, with mine happening on the deck since I refuse to climb just because, then the plane just holds on like a bloody clamp, and bf109s can’t get out of sight, making it a vengeful plane.

Low tier fun tier! The only problem obviously is that there is no incentive to play them if you ever want to take part in events like battlepass or operation summer and winter etc. Still, I hope to see many more biplanes in the future of War Thunder 🤞🤞

The I-153 Chaika is definitely the best biplane in the whole game. The ShKAS machine guns (four of them) are all bunched in the nose and given the tiny size of the plane and the fact you can get really close means that you basically go around ramming holes in people! The plane is literally an I-16 just slower and WAAAAAAAY more maneuverable with a non-convergence reliant armament set up!

I love the I-153 and the PO-2

If only the rockets really did that

I-15 in my opinion is definitely an enemy to fear. Even some 109s can't win in a dogfight. Also, what are the best rounds to use for the Yak-1? (The first one you can get) I think Universal and Ground Targets are the best ones. Or is there a better one?

It's armed the the fastest firing single barrel guns ever made, in fact. The only gun that has ever gotten near its fire rate was the MG42 (25 shots per second compared to the ShKAS's 30 shots/second)

I find that if a good player is playing ‘Tucks Gladiator’ is probably the most scary thing I have ever faced

I-15WR all the way. Only the other reserve I-15s compare to it in manuverability, and it also packs 4x 7.62mm machine guns, thought the firing rate isn't as high as the I-153.

Models of Tirpitz, Stalingrad, Fuso and Hood were leaked some time ago. Like modern tanks and Mach 2 Jets, the intoduction of well known Battleships is a matter of when, not if. Though personally I'd like to see Guided Missile Destroyers and Cruisers.

Clearly the best biplane is the BI

Cr. 32 Bis is optainable. Its kinda hard tho. You have to either: 1. Buy it via Gaijin Marketplace. 2. Buy a vehicle crate using warbonds in the warbonds shop and get a chance at getting it.

I’ve been using the chaika in ground rb as china the whole time I’ve been playing china. I’m at 8.0 now and it’s starting to lose its efficacy against radar and better jets
