How much does it impact framerates?

Honorable Mentions: Voltaire's Nightmare, Iaponia Universalis, and Annals of Asia Universalis. All these mods put much weight in certain regions, which may be considered biased to certain people but definitely great if you are interested in particular places. Also, I recommend starting your campaign in year 750 for extended timeline mod. The 200 years between 7th and 9th centuries are truly great if you want to enjoy the age of empires or clash of the Titans while feeling the nostalgia of classical ancient empires without thinking about the times after treaty of Westphalia. Imagine a great power war between Abasids+Gokturk and Byzantium and Tang Dynasty while Frankish Empire and Umayyad in Spain are waiting for the good time to backstab. This is why I truly recommend this time period in the extended timeline mod.

TheSocialStreamers Yeah, I think most of the mods you have mentioned are great. The ones I listed in honorable mentions are more detailed in certain regions, but not necessarily better than the ones you mentioned. Also, Meiou and taxes as well as Common Universalis are the best ones imo due to improved mechanics. But both mods require more computational power thus may not be playable for some people. Extended Timeline is more universal playable to most people.

TheSocialStreamers You can try year 750 in extended timeline I highly recommend this time period especially with the great power mechanics. There are several nations with around 1000/1500 development at this time.

My experience with extended timelines is mixed, the mod works great if you just want to play a short time period, but the longer the game goes the worse it gets. I wanted to make curonia a colonial empire, however what ends up happening is all the nations just have hundreds of years to form super empires and destroy small nations. By 1300 there was only four or five nations left in Europe, one nation in India, one in China, etc. I was sick of that game before getting to the part I was looking forward to, the world felt worn out and dead.

I seem to be the only guy enjoying Extended Timeline amongst the commenters

Thanks! Yeah, we definitely missed a few mods here and there, Voltaire's nightmare being a favourite of mine (Laith's). Three people means that some of our opinions get drowned out. I'm not bitter. :3

Yeah the extended timeline is definitely my favourite as it allows me to play England when the country consisted of minors essentially allowing me to start off as a two province minor and build my way up to the Empire. The only problem with the mod is that it can throw some of the missions out under this new mission system depending on the date you start and the country you play. Starting as England in the 'Third Crusade' start, I noticed that the 'Discover India' mission was already available. The 'War Of The Roses' mission is also available in another start and I assume this is the case for some of the other nations and their missions. Apart from that and a minor bug where you can't exit the sub menus within the country view menu without clicking back first, the mod is sweet.

I haven't played eu4 for years and started to play eu4 with M&T. It's one of the best mods in paradox games likes of HPM vic2 mod.

Btw,maybe we can do something like strongest army or navy next round, especially the navy part since we didn't cover that topic. Honorable mentions Great Britain Denmark Norway Japan Italy Shimazu Betsmisaraka and etc (By size maybe add Ottomans and Ming. But their idea are not so great for naval warfare.)

What about Third Odyssey: Back to the Motherland? It is a very developed mod which is still being worked on and has received a lot of love and care from community and development team.

In my opinion Voltaire’s nightmare really should have been on the list considering that it changes the game so much. But for the most part I did agree which your list as those mods are amazing in different ways but I really think you guys should have put Iapona Universalis up there, because it is very similar to Voltaire’s in the sense of it being a location expansion.

There is a mod that plays "deus vult" every time you convert a province to catholicism....should've been number 1 :D

I have pirated version too. Here's how to download Extended Timeline if you want: Find a site to download the mod (steamworkshop.download) and download the mod. What you will get is a .zip file. Right click your EU4 and click "Open location" and open "mod" folder. If you don't have it then create it. Put extended timeline into the mod folder. Open extended_timeline.zip. In it you'll find "descriptor". Get the "descriptor to "mod" folder along with extended_timeline.zip. Rename both to "extendedtimeline" without anything after it. Open EU4 and if random countries have some random provinces then go to EU4 location then History then Provinces. Delete all provinces. Go to Provinces of the extended timeline mod nad copy them to the games provinces. Everything should work just fine.

Space Cat I'm sorry you dislike what we do,and I respect your opinion, but I dislike the fact than Paradox sells an incomplete game at a normal price, and then you'd have to pay a ridiculous amount of money in order to have a decent playing experience. Make the calculations, you'll notice of much the entire DLC content is worth Not even Ubisoft with their Premium Editions of their newest games sells something that expensive. Paradox with their EU4 selling policy has forgotten the mutual respect than a videogame company must have with its customers. I will not pay that sum of money, they're insulting us.

Shattered Universalis is outdated and have been for almost a year now

Extended Timeline is by far one of the worst mods for EU4. The idea behind it is bad, and even if you likes the idea it is still executes very poorly. The balance of the game is horrible and all it does is railroad some countries outrageously to try to make it realistic. Example: Mongolia with 15 points of Moral in the 1200's.

also AI is pretty stupid in keeping a Salic Monarchy, where there is a chance for the country to split, and it ends up being Byzantium or some other non-salic monarchy taking over everything. Which is why when I do an AI only game I force them to change their government whenever I get a chance. I do not think it is a bad mod, it is a great one, but it still needs some touch-ups.
