I've tried many different center channel speakers and to be clear the test DVD is Pink Floyd Pulse! This will absolute separate the good from the bad. So in conclusion the best center channel I've found and use is a pair of Infinity SM 125 in horizontal configuration. This also provides a large surface to set a very large screen in case yours isn't wall mounted. I'm open to suggestions as to what any of you have found to be better!

I have the Polk S35, still good enough. Compared it to a Klipsch RP 250C. Held its own! If you've always wanted a soundbar but hate their sound profile, I recommend the Polk signature center channel...

I’m still using a 22 year old Mission M5c with 2 x 5.25 inch and a tweeter and l thought as it’s old it lacked umph, so l ordered a Cerwin Vega SL 45c with 4 x 5.25 speakers and a tweeter. The Cerwin with music was serious bang for ya bucks and it certainly rocked n rolled, but dialogue clarity during films, which it was purchased for, was muddy to say the least. So sadly l returned it and realised the 22 year old Mission was built better and had better dynamics, especially with the dialogue

I've grown partial to her Polk Audio l800 and I'm looking to see what they got for the center channel to match those cabinets and I'm thinking if I'm going to be paying $6,000 or was it $3,000 a pair should have a center channel to match them

Hi, I bought Polk ES35 because I have ES50's and ES10's...but ES 35 is not good...All connected to Marantz nr1510...I did audyssey few times...checked everything...but dialogue is bad...regular tv lausy...netflix, prime...ok...but not as expected...could it be that Marantz and Polk don't mix and match altgougj they are under the same roof?

You should know that the build of a horizontal speaker is not ideal. The best array is an vertical aligned speaker. So it could be that you listenning position is off axis since horizontally aligned drivers are canceling out eachother on a specific angle. Try to angel the center speaker towards your ear level, dont place them to much inside a cabinet place the front of the speaker as much as possible to the edge. If possible try to align the tweeters of your lcr as much as possible.

You should have included the Theory Center Channel Speaker (available in 3 sizes). This CC Speaker is powered by a Class D Amplifier. The total price of this ( 5.2.2 ) system including Class D Amplifier is around $ 10 Thousand.

Agree with Davey Crockett ^^^. All the other centers in this review are toys compared to the mighty Klipsch RC-64 III. Always build your speaker system from the inside out, meaning get the best center speaker you can afford. That means the RC-64. Don't worry about "timbre matching" within brands, quality goes with everything.

The klipsch R-34c, is a better center than the 52 around the same price.

Yeah, couldn't take them serious after hearing that.

So the #2 speaker is $160 on Amazon and the #1 is $400? Doesnt that make the choice easy?

This list is not good. The better center channel speakers are not the slim versions, but the full size versions with 4" or 5.25" woofers. Ideally you want center woofers that match your left and right front speakers. Small center channel speakers placed horizontally cancel each other out in the horizontal plane. Small tweeters also lack bass, and while in the past most center channel audio is vocals, nowadays there is a lot more action and sound being sent to the center channel. So instead of the Polk Monitor XT35 or ES35, you should get the Monitor XT30 or ES30.

Those are words of wisdom right there. I did the same and bought a Polk ES30, placed it on the vertical plane and it is one hell of a central speaker. Would cut out some acoustic foam and part-fill the sides where the bass is porting from through their patented blow hole. Or place it as far as you can away from the rear wall to avoid the artificial boxy bass sound. Very good speaker. There is only one major area where they really screwed up, the Flippin fake vinyl wrap over the MDF lols...why or why would you do that...ok to save money but wow... it's so easy to scratch the body. Thankfully I bought the black version. If the vinyl begins to crack, will spray paint the outer body in the future, hopefully, it won't come to that. But that is the only serious weakness of the POLK ES30. Place it vertically are you have a cracking speaker. The ES35 looks lovely though, but yes the on-axis cancellation of those small woofers is not good, and very tinny sounding too.

Yep agree with anything less than at least 5.25inches and 5.50 inches even better. BIGEST problem I’ve found with anything bigger than the 5.25 inches is that it won’t fit into the centre shelf of many tv stands.

Yes exactly I saw a center channel in Best Buy with 6inch carbon woofers and 2tweeters and it was like 1500$
