I agree completely with this list. I use three Canon G50's at the church and they are great but a G60 would be even better due to it's low light performance. But since the church is on a budget the G50 was the way to go, especially since 4k wasn't a must.

Thanks for posting this. Finding a good video camera for my channel videos has been a real challenge. I just find that DSLRs are not good for video on the move. One thing people neglect to mention in selecting a video camera is the importance of a rear viewfinder. I've tried recording surfing videos at the beach and in the bright sun an LCD screen is useless. You need the viewfinder to actually stay on your target if they are moving.

Does the sony fdr-ax43 have a built in light?

I like the shot you have around 5:00 of the guy using the film camera. Looks like either a 16mm Russian K3 Krasnogorsk or one of the Zenit Quartz DS8 cameras. Interesting you woud use a shot of someone using a spring wound film camera.

Which out of this list is good with driving well I live stream. The vixia G20 I have now is really bad well I'm driving real pixlated. And choppy. I need something nice and clear? But nothing bulky either cause I have it clamped on my rear view mirror. Thanks for any info.

I have Sony AX700 it shoot 4K 30fps, FHD 120fps, and 720p up to 960fps...I wish that it can shoot 4K in 60fps and to have wider lens (starting from 24mm for example), and that would be perfect cam...also meny/controls are terrible

most doe;' tell you in the specs the cables output resolution; usually far less than recording quality; to get them to a pc for editing.

You've forgotten to tell wich camcorder have optical stabilzation and wich one does not have. I belong a Canon HF-G30 camcorder. After 7 years of use, the focus ring is out of order and the zoom lever rewind slowly in wide mode when it is still in neutral position.

@@ScottPrincePhotography I say Go Sony. That AX700 has the same phase-detect AUTOFOCUS as Sony A6300+'s mirrorless camera series, Much zippier, Better than Panny. If you want or need *only* manual focus then that makes your decision a bit tougher. Me personally I would still go with the AX700. Seen many videos with damn impressive footage from it. Keep in mind that as a part of the AX-series like the AX-43 also featured in this video, the AX700 has built-in floating gimbal lens stabilization. I really don't see how this vid ranked the AX700 lower than the AX43 since the AX700 is NEWER, BETTER, has a bigger sensor, an updated newer image processor, and more features than in the AX43. I think they ranked the AX43 higher solely based on the fact that it can be found for about HALF THE COST than the AX700, which is around $1300-$1500 USD. Just a theory.....

Sony camcorder is expensive but offers better low light performance, no other camcorder outperforms Sony as it has a larger sensor.

Basically, ax43 could do everything ax700 could but at half the price.... Except that ax700 is with the newer sensor and some fast focus logic(supposingly, it is good if you do a lot of indoor sports filming/video). Etc.

OK, Canon Vixia HF G60 UHD 4K Camcorder can only record 4K up to 30 fps, not 60 fps. I'm looking to get the Canon G60 or the Panasonic HC-x1500 that will do 4K, in 60 FPS. Both are at the same $1,700 dollars mark.

Umm no. Pro cameras are 5 figure. Lenses on commercial units can start at 10k alone. With units starting at 15k. And these are entry level. 100k is not unheard of for professional video cameras. These would be prosumer models.

4k isn't so relevant because most people view in max 1080p . 4k is a resolution and not a quality of look which you can get from a decent HD camera that takes separate lenses of quality. Skill in lighting editing and encoding is crucial. It's about creating an atmosphere in your rushes initially.

Yes, the Canon XA-50 is one of the best camcorders of 2022. In 2013, I bought a Canon XA-20. It is a fantastic machine. I used it till last year and, even if it is still working perfectly, I wanted to replace it by a 4K camera. Among the candidates was the XA-50 but it did not include a ring to adjust the iris. As this was the only complaint I had against the XA-20, I looked for another camera and bought an XF-605. That was a giant error. On the XF-605, the autofocus is not reliable, no more than the image stabilization. Fortunately, I found a fool to buy my XF-605 and, for myself, I bought a XA-50 and it was without complaint. The Canon XA-50 is really a good machine.
