Those privacy settings look pretty sweet, love the toggles for mic and camera and allowing you to give just an approximate location to apps. I really like the look and feel of 12 (so sad they dropped the sweets names, they could have named this sugar, soda or sorbet). I'm going to be switching phones this spring and not gonna lie this is making me even more interested in the Pixel 6

I have been wondering for _years_ whether this related to some of the changes in iOS starting in 2016, when a lot of apps started having these *MASSIVE* bold headers at the top, first in News & Music and later in more apps. 2016 was just as Jony Ive turned 49, and I'm sure a lot of other Apple execs are around the same age. I wonder if this was part of the reasons behind these changes then, and if something similar might be happening now at Google. There must be tons of different ideas being proposed, and just imagine what someone close to 50 would think of a design with super-thin letters vs a bolder typeface. I remember my dad at that age starting to read the newspaper from further away, there's no escaping it.

And why does this arguing exist? All your doing is just adding on to it. All the hate between both is stupid. It doesn't matter what device you have. All anyone ever does on it is call people, maybe play a couple games, text some friends and move on. Let me ask why have they made fun of Apple? Certainly not because some Apple users told them they Have Bad "Android quality" on their cameras certainly not because Apple users have called them poor or broke for simply having an Android. None of this is that serious. Just use what you have and enjoy it. Both are good.

That internet toggle in the quick settings makes me not want to upgrade. I switch my WiFi and mobile network on and off several times a day so don't want an extra step to do it.

No, you have to turn on the mic access in order to use Google Assistant if you've turned off the mic access previously.

Finally got my Android 12 6 months later, love it so far. The animations are SO smooth it feels like 90hz even when I'm on 60, and 120 is just so good now

Everything is so bouncy in A12, it's like the whole UI is twerking.

There are a couple of really tiny things I'm not extremely fond of (I do have screen issues at very low brightness but it's almost unnoticeable and I'm not extremely fond of the curved edges) but otherwise I absolutely love the phone. It’s be cool if you could edit aspects of the animations too like the swipe when you plug the charger in I wanna change what color of the swipe to blue or something but I’m really glad about all the changes I think I’ll probably be switching to android

I've stuck with Pixel for a few years now and I like it. It's big aesthetically speaking, but it feels like the step Google has been trying to head with the Pixel series. If anything I like this update as a base for refinement. Hopefully we get size options in the final update, but I do like the bold look.

That said I don't like most other phones either and consider Pixel to be the best I've encountered in some ways, but I think the tradeoffs have gotten too bad and I'm gonna stick with Samsung from now on

He doesn’t do his own graphics he has somebody that makes his thumbnails and stuff like that. Anybody who get big and rich hire their own graphics person.

I really don't like the huge toggles in the notification section. I like being able to access a whole lot of options with one swipe from the top, and this feels very impractical

Completely agree. I also really don't like that all the internet options are bundled together. Being able to toggle WiFi on/off in one click is useful. Burying that in a menu is impractical.

I love the simple but beautiful design of the pixel 5 That matte back feels good 😌 Wish they kept it for the pixel 6 but I'm going to use a case anyways 💩

I love my MIUI on mi 10 pro, but I guess I won't see most of the visual stuff behind Android 12. Actually miui has proved much prettier and visually pleasing to me then stock Android. But seeing these new changes makes me want Them :D

@@DARKredDOLLAR Are you already unlock your bootloader? if not, request for unlock now(just request, don't unlock immediately, because it will clear your phone's data), so if you want to experience the vanilla android, you can unlock the bootloader and install some custom aosp rom :)

That's a good thing. I'm starting to hate this pixel 'stock' android. I much prefer miui, or some proper stock android like lineage os.

I have a Motorola which it's mostly stock Android so my Motorola phone finally got an Android 12 update and it looks exactly like Android 12 on the Pixel honestly I love it.

love how there's way more personalisation settings now, definitely going to use it more. Maybe a video about how to go above and beyond with the personalisation?

Tiles were always great. Its just not enough to make it a good device

I'm always changing wallpapers and YES they make the phone newer often. This review has been helpful. I'm saving the iOS money for an Android. 12 will make Android far better than it's been. Cheers

Why does it cover the entire home screen whenever you bring up the toggles/brightness settings? You can't see how bright your screen is anymore

Can I just say how much I appreciate that when you use "Zoom to Fill" on MKBHD's videos, they fit so nicely and don't cut off too much of the vid??? Respect.

There's something to that, I have dynamic wallapers from mac os on iPhone and it has couple of em and it's really cool..

"Material YOU" clever, becoming more important to distinguish in the future ;) (in a good way).

So fun to see this, as most of the UI updates for Android 12 are already part of MIUI. :D

Yeah, he said it was a huge overhaul, and I had to really struggle to find anything that looks meaningfully different beyond the notification tray. Looks like a really small change to me.

My feedback on Pixel 5 - Don't like the bigger icons and display. But definitely notice the much smoother UI compared to Android 11.

I like the new camera and microphone thing.

i like it mostly, besides the large tiles in quick settings pulldown... with more settings being added w/ new ui's or phones, how many scroll right (or maybe down??) will u need o do, to get to final page?? on my s20fe, it's already 3 pages of settings existing
