Фильм және анимация

Film noir, noted for its dark visual style, takes place primarily, but not exclusively, within the generic complex of the American crime film of the forties and fifties. The term was first introduced by French cineaste Nino Frank in 1946. Here is a selection of some of the best film noir released in the year 1947. Total ratings for the 40 films = 277.2 (out of 400) an average of 6.93 out of 10.
Three books were useful when selecting films for this video series - "Dark City - Film Noir" by Spencer Selby, "Film Noir Guide" by Michael F. Keaney, and "Film Noir - An Encyclopedic Reference to the American Style" by Alain Silver and Elizabeth Ward.
Ratings Average sources include IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, Radio Times, FilmAffinity, Letterboxd, TMDB, Videohound, Maltin's Movie Guide and Halliwell's Film Guide.

I know, making these videos has got me interested in a lot of noir I've missed over the years. :)

1947 was a solid year for films noir. My tally is 25, including the first 14. Here is my all time favorite noir - Out of the past. I consider Kathie Moffat as noir reincarnation of Milady from The three musketeers. I'd like to recommend Born to kill, not very known noir, but it has engaging story, told in pretty much realistic fashion and strong performances by the leads Claire Trevor and Lawrence Tierney.

25 out of the 40 here is impressive. I've only seen 8. Out of the Past is my favorite of one's I've seen from 1947. All time favorite noir? Not sure. Maltese Falcon is up there, as is Rebecca, Double Indemnity, Touch of Evil, The Third Man and Sunset Boulevard, and of course Out of the Past (or Build My Gallows High as it's called in the UK). Thanks for posting.

@@Top10Charts3978 Well, I've seen over 300 noirs from the classical period of 1940-50s. The ones you mentioned are of course classic. I'm also very fond of Sweet Smell of Success and curious when his year comes whether he'll be No. 1. Thanks for making these charts.

Outstanding noir lineup near the peak of noir productions. Far enough past WW2 for the zeitgeist of the postwar years to be widespread and the studios are still kinda powerful and have their themes and techniques well in hand. More great directors (and writers), including George Cukor directing noir to very good effect. Robert Montgomery as Marlowe, sure, but George Montgomery as Marlowe too and a very believable look for Marlowe. Lots of really good actors in supporting roles, e.g. Lee J. Cobb, Nina Foch, Claude Rains, Richard Widmark. Fred MacMurray paired with Ava Gardner, intriguing. Joan Bennett’s hairstylists still doing well and some other actresses are catching up in this department. Women’s hats are in decline in noirland, thank goodness. Bacall’s looks are so far beyond the norm that I can’t think of anyone - including Tierney and Bergman - who is so striking until Grace Kelly meets Hitchcock in mid-50s. Crossfire breaks new ground in screen material but I notice studios are still hiding actresses navels. 40 films worth watching and a fairly defining top 10. Thanks very much for this noir series, very enjoyable and informative.

Thanks Walter, excellent post. I was surprised there were so many good quality noirs filling up my videos. At one time I thought two videos covering each decade, 40s and 50s, would be sufficient. 40 films for each decade, plenty. I was wrong. 40 films for 1947 and I had to get rid of a few to make the video more manageable.
