hwoarang beat the guy that beat true ogre in his base form. hwoarang beat the guy that beat kazuya and heihachi back to back. But I agree that kim's contribution to tae kwon do is unmatched.

@@MAnwerSaeed Of course I did, Kim does not have a single Decent Track Record of winning a Fight against any Opponents from both Fatal Fury and King of Fighters series respectively, not once he has ever made it close to the Final or even a Semi-Final in both Tournament Storylines, Hence why Kim has been a Jobber throughout his Career, Hwoarang on the other Hand may have not Win a Tournament, but he has Faced many Powerful Opponents, he defeated Jin in his Base Form and Survived by almost being killed by his Devil Form, so that's how Hwoarang is stronger than Kim.

The fact that Kim's gameplay has been evolving ever since the 1st Fatal Fury to the latest edition of KOF XV, simply puts him up on the top of the list...

The fact that when KOF15 came out and everyone asked where Kim was tells you how much of a mark this guy left and still trucking even after newer and more popular Taekwondo users since his creation. The strongest legacies are the ones that endure.

Juri, Luong, and Hwoarang are my favorite Taekwondo characters.

Back when I was a kid, I practiced Taekwon-Do. Made it to the red belt with black tips I

The motion capture on Sanson was really solid. His technique gave the animation a lot of weight. Solid stuff.

Urban Reign really had amazing representation of all disciplines. And Park was one of the toughest boss fights in the game. Probably 3rd toughest behind Golam and Napalm

Hwoarang is the king of Taekwondo. His moves are the most crisp, clean, and accurate to the style. I’m a 3rd Dan black belt in Taekwondo so I do know what I’m talking about. The first time I saw Tekken 3 in the arcade the opening Embu was starting to play and Hwoarang was performing the Hwa-Rang Taekwondo kata move for move with perfect technique. Tekken 3 was the whole reason I bought my PlayStation and was the only game I had for an entire year. My taekwondo buddies would all come over and we’d play Tekken 3 all day and all night long until we passed out where we were sitting

Hwaorang is who sparked my interest in taekwondo back in Tekken 2, which was one of the only games my dad got with the Playstation (Final Fantasy was the other, but can't remember which one). I was at brown belt almost 20 years ago, but it's not like I've completely abandoned my training and I've been getting back into it the last couple of months.

@@starrynightwind9145 We had brown at my school; ATA down in South Florida. Not sure if it's still there though, but it was definitely an official school as many of our students competed in tournaments.

I was all about the Taekwondo fighters back in the 90s and this Top 30 was right up my alley. When the top two were announced half of me cheered and the other half was angry LOL. Awesome video! Keep it up!

Taekwondo mixed with any major striking art is deadly. I can show you deadly TKD/Karate fighters & deadly TKD/Kung Fu fighters too. TKD jusr makes everything much more fluid & deadly imo.

Not gonna lie, my favorite Taekwando fighters is a tie between Kim Kaphwan and Hwaorang. Cuz one's one of the ones that got me into the franchise while the other made an impression the second I saw him fight. Both fighters are absolutely sick.

I don't care who came first between Kim or Hworang both are my mains and kickass fighters from both respected series. I also practice Taekwondo too.

I cannot wait for the ridiculous on this channel from MK1 after it releases. Will mortal Raiden be a house show jobber putting over the heels? Will Liu Kang drop a pipe bomb promo in story that relegates Shang to mid-card status? Will Bi Han turn face and join Hanzo to become The Mega Powers? Don't know but I'm excited to catch it here first.

Wow the last 2 and their ranking really surprised me I was thinking Hwoarang was going to be #1 cause of popularity and Kim at 2 but great assessment for Kim is a impact in both Fatal Fury and KOF along with cross over CvS and in both timelines trained many Taekwondo practitioners in SNK all since 1992 so I love the integrity and credit given where credit is due in spite of not being the popular choice. Hwoarang is my main in Tekken since I played Tekken 3 when I was 8 yrs old then when TTT and T4 came out afterwards he was always my go to best moveset, easy to do endless combos and juggling with and he is the rival to Jin Kazama the poster boy and the most powerful character in Tekken all that said Hwoarang is my boy!!! Runner ups are Kim Kaphwan and his Sons in Garou Mark Of The Wolves along with Gang Il and Jhun Hoon being the SNK Fanboy I am. I also love Rig from DOA really based and gotta LOVE Juri Han. I didn’t know Jenny and Reiji from Bloody Roar were Taekwondo considered characters but you know I LOVE my BR bring this Franchise back!!!! I guess Yun Seong and Hwang can be considered especially since they are of Korean Nationality I always considered Yun Seong if SC and Tekken are part of the same universe to be Hwoarang’s Ancestor they look alike and have the dam near same personality lol. Amazing work as always. Kim is the TKD OG and deserved number 1 spot. Most of the list is Kukkiwon TKD fighters (WTF/Olympic sport) however Master Hwang Su Il helped with motion capture for Hwoarang in Tekken 3 so technically Hwoarang is the number 1 Chang-Hon TKD fighter! As a TKD chang-Hon 4th Dan, this was a great video listing all the video game TKD fighters, I wish I could kick like all of them!

Same for me, Chae-Lim is reason why KOF Maximum Impact games are fighting games I played to most now. Reason for me to watch Taekwondo sports too. In Maximum Impact Regulation- my team is Chae-Lim, Kim Kaphwan and Xiaolon. So kinda my fighting style is Taekwondo with two spades as weapons if I ever gonna fight like Mortal kombat that uses weapons with taekwondo.

My man had the homeless dude from Vs. in his review. This really IS the FightersDen!

Make sense Kim is #1. As popular Hwoarang is, as bad ass Juri is, as cool Rig is, Kim has the legacy and influence to back him up. If weren't for him, many other Tae Kwon Do characters would have not existed.

Heard of all these games. Seen them never played them all. Glad to see Baek at 3! Rig is too cool.

Den, I have stopped from making replies on YT (as why "lie"?) but the truth is that the first video game studio to get you on staff as a writer for a combat game is the one with the best HR department as there is not a single person I have seen online with your knowledge of the games in the genre, the lore, and the ability to improve whatever ideas their existing staff can come up with in character design, movesets, and their stories. The proof of this is found in these recent fighting style videos where you have found out games that not only many people don't know exist, but the characters and lore within them. So please take this compliment and if you ever decide to pursue such a career, please feel free to use me as a referree as my way of showing gratitude for the entertainment and education you have given me by expanding my knowledge and awareness of the game genre I loved as a child yet got burnt out on after playing too much Street Fighter 2 and it's many iterations in the mid 1990s.

A fun fact is that in Law, Lee, Nina, and Anna from Tekken also use Taekwondo as their fighting style. Unlike Hwoarang and Baek, theirs are mix with other styles. Lee and Law are mixed with Savate, and the Williams sisters are mixed with Koppojutsu. Most Tekken characters used mixed styles of martial arts instead of purely sticking to just one.

The term "Jeet Kune Do" is widely misunderstood. It's not a martial art style, it's a philosophy. Bruce Lee himself also practiced Taekwondo during his time in America and it became a reference to Law's fighting style.

Speaking of Aggressors of Dark Kombat, if you put make a list about characters who fight with wrestling moves you should put Kisarah Westfield. Many of her command throws are wrestling moves (some are judo throws) Edit: Bobby Nelson is one of the best characters who fight with basketball moves in fighting games

In my personal opinion, Dee Jay should be included among Taekwondo user. Although Kickboxing is official profile, most people don't that creation of DJay was inspired from Billy Blanks who trained in Taekwondo and created a fitness program based on it. Rolling Sobat, Double Rolling Sobat and their Super Art variations contain Taekwondo aesthetic.

I keep watching this list. It’s amazing how the top 4 are all Korean. Gotta wonder if there is any North Korean representation out there. Well, I think there was a North Korean in some indie fighting game from either China or Korea. Couldn’t remember the name though. Come to think of it, whatever the title of it was, I think the North Korean character didn’t even use Taekwondo. I just can’t remember what it was called.

I love all the SNK representation in this video. Obviously taekwondo is the one style that Capcom took a bit long to even show interest in. If it wasn’t for Juri being the Waifu meat that she is as well as being established, Capcom wouldn’t even have a pulse on this list!

The Olympic style WTF taekwondo’s moves aren’t very well represented in video games. They wear the WTF uniforms, but fight mostly like Chang-Hun taekwondo practitioners. There’s also no Songahm Taekwondo representation as far as I can tell. I also wish TangSooDo would get representation in fighting games. It’s a very popular martial art with the kicks of Taekwondo and the punches/hand techniques of Shotokan Karate.
