That would be a debate some of these celebrities may of had a Jewish father, that doesn’t make them Jewish. The mother has to be Jewish in order for the person to be Jewish. Two celebrities such as Adam Levine and Robert Downey Jr. had Jewish ancestry on the Father’s side not the mother’s.

That practice only applied later and largely in Europe and we know why? Because of persecution of Jews unfortunately - mostly men killed!
