🤔 *So, how is it that you mentioned Normani being inspired by JLo, but never even placed her anywhere on the list?* “Get Right” definitely should’ve made it on this list if not for the dance break then absolutely for the opening cane solo sequence.

The fact that you put Black Swan on this list legitimized the list in so many ways. That choreography is literal art and not what we typically see in pop music. It's completely underrated.

As long as Janet & Michael were the top two spots. Which they deserve to be. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I was passing out candy for Halloween one year and a young lady (had to have been early teens/preteens) came up our sidewalk with her family. I screamed and gave her a hug! “Janet Jackson Rhythm Nation!!!” Her mom started rolling. The girl said, “No way!” I gave her extra candy! They didn’t think anyone would recognize her costume!
Let's be honest. Michael Jackson music videos with the best chroreography could easily be the top 5 of this list. Thriller, Remember the time, Smooth Criminal, Beat It, Bad. But it's unfair for the other artists. So, I understand the decision here.

She was starting to get more into acting and wanted to do more. I sometimes wonder if we would've known her more as an actress than a singer if she was still living. Beyonce tries acting, but it never seems to land or go far (I think people thought Dreamgiris was going to do it, but Jennifer Hudson got that one). Aaliyah truly was a talent!

The No1 spot goes to ALL of MJs choreogralhed videos.. mJ was jiust on another level and everybody else just followed suit. Janet included. The whole idea of mini musicals was his and tried all kinds of styles. Such a talented guy he was. And brought so much joy.
i was gonna insist that the kinetic film for "ON" be BTS' feature on this list but there is something very special about black swan... not sure if i'd say it was "inspired by swan lake/the movie black swan," though, as the song is actually inspired by the martha graham quote "a dancer dies twice-once when they stop dancing, and this first death is the more painful." the lyrics are about their fear of reaching a point where music no longer moves them and they feel no more passion for their career, and what will they live for when that moment comes? it's extremely fitting that the song was the first single from what was supposed to be their final album before they went on hiatus to fulfill their military duties, and they talked about feeling like they had "nothing left to say" - which you can definitely feel in their solo projects as they fill in the gaps before their 2025 reunion. it's certainly one of their most artistic works and it's such a shame the grammys are so xenophobic they were denied recognition for it.

They had to be polite and include others in the list but 50% of this could've easily been just Michael and Janet.
What an epic list literally! BTS Black Swan, Normani, Britney, Beyonce, Bruno, Missy, MJ Thriller just too good.
I really thought Kylie Minogue "Can't get you outta my head" would have made the list
Sadly, The Pussycat Dolls suffered from "the curse of the one". Scherzinger was featured as the "important one" and the others were limited to the background. It became Nicole and the Cats.
Janet's PLEASURE PRINCIPLE is UNMATCHED, ALRIGHT is Stunning theater, WHEN I THINK OF YOU timeless, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY, NASTY, ROCK WIT U had some of her best choreo not seen or imitated by anyone, and YOU WANT THIS slays!!! She could have been the whole list.
One of the few videos that drew from modern dance was Kate Bush's visually striking "Running Up That Hill". The song, the dance performances, the choreography, and the art direction all work together to create a timeless classic in fusing pop with high art. For sheer nuttiness, the choreography in Bjork's "It's Oh So Quiet" provided a crazy modern take on the classic musical dance sequence and was her biggest hit. For sophisticated street-influenced dancing and choreography, as well as the overall visual package, check out Jungle music videos, like "Back on 74" or "I've Been in Love". To me, the performances in their videos beat a lot of the music videos on this list.
No denying a lot of talent runs in the Jacksons
THIS WAS EVERYTHING ! The songs I don’t know , not so much. The songs I do know .. DOPE. Including the Aaliyah, Missy, Beyonce , Sia, Britney Spears, Janet & Michael songs EVERYTHING & a bag of chips. Thank you!

I remember watching some of these music videos as a kid in the 90s-2000s. I tried dancing to them, too.
Janet Jackson's "When I Think of You" should be included just because of all the choreography and the 'one take' of it. "Deeper Shade of Blue" by Steps is so iconic around the world (except the US), that people around the world dance along with the choreography of the chorus.
