@@isuapig6705 Can be said that he was simply running on instinct/not really thinking, but the part that gets me is when he got locked out. He had to recognize a problem, and remember a solution (where he hid his key), but how? Also, he shaved himself in the mirror. Did he not notice that he was practically headless at that point?

@@goji8416 I think that was a combination of muscle memory and the brain, think of it the same way you do things without thinking about them because of how often they are done. The shaving part, I'm not sure about the hidden key though

i think criminal minds had an episode like this, where this lady was definitely injured cooking her food on the stove while her brain was basically falling out of her head onto the food. it’s been awhile since i’ve watched it but i definitely remember there was an episode like that. i have no clue what episode or season it was, i’ve been looking for a few years but without rewatching the whole show, i doubt i’ll find it lmfao

His vids are awesome. My favorite three are the snake island by Brazil, the deceased fire fights with and kids in a new house, and the one about Britain pushing japanese soldier out of a fort and into the swamp during world war II

The second story about Pauline, and her mother’s shared delusion syndrome with her boyfriend Stan, reminds me a lot of the film, Bug. A very underrated movie that came out in 2006, starring Ashley Judd and Michael Shannon. Check it out and you’ll see the similarities in terms of how a dominant person’s strong delusions can be transferred to another vulnerable person and the subsequent self-destruction that follows.

SO glad you guys got to Mr Ballen, he's an incredible storyteller

I feel bad for the dad in that second story, obviously he was a drunk and bit violent but he had kids taken away from him for 18 years, hopefully the pauline and her brother met up with him

Could the story about the dad be fake as well I mean think about it you filed for divorce, custody of both kids and can file for a restraining order at any given time and call the cops if need be with that being said 🤔

​@@ogstreet2390 I was curious what happened with the father, I had to go through about 5 different articles to find one that mentioned anything. She did eventually have a relationship with him years later, she never told him why her mom ran off with them. She thought it would destroy him. He had seen them a couple times like at her brother's wedding, but her mom had convinced her it was actually a body double spy pretending to be her father. The reason the father didn't have the cops after her for kidnapping is they had separated a year before they ran off. So the father just assumed his wife wanted to get away from him and he had enough guilt to not fight it.

Brings a whole other dimension to the phrase "A lung full of them trees"

Learned about the Porco Incident in Forensics Class. But yeah his Dad was technically a zombie for a bit.

in my life experiences meeting people.... some of the most dangerous people, (former or otherwise) look NOTHING like theyre dangerous at all.... i personally met a guy through a guy i used to work with, and he was a legit gangster... like for real deal, from another country, with ties in that countrys criminal stuff.... formerly, obviously... dude was old... but had a couple hidden tattoos to back up the criminal past, but other than that, the guy looked just like another old uncle or grandpa at a party... khaki shorts, buttonddown shit, kicked back having a mixed drink....

2 and 3 were wild, especially that twist on 2 with one big lie. Then 3 mans did the daily routine, then passed and the mother paid the bail damn.

Hearing that third story, I couldn't help but think of that scene from Scary Movie 3 where Anthony Anderson and Kevin Hart were talking about going to bed alive and waking up dead. Mans really woke up dead!!

Here's a bigger question of story #2. What the hell happened to the brother?? Was he told of the story? Did he believe everything? Was the syndrome passed onto him as well...? Just a missing piece of the puzzle.

I've just gone through like 10 articles on her story and none of them ever say if the brother was told. They do mention her husband was told. Neither she nor her husband were ever under the delusion though, they were just being lied to.

The New Brunswick, Canada story about The Weird World is very interesting because I’m born and raised in New Brunswick, Canada, specifically Burnt Church First Nation, and it’s crazy to hear this story knowing nothing of it. I definitely want to see more videos!

3. Damn there was an X-Files episode that delt EXACTLY with that happening. Damn, just damn. 2. I work in mental health, so I already starting to suspect this was a delusion. And I'm already familiar with the shared delusion, shits wild. 1. Yeah I remember that story. Saw a documentary on it on the ID Channel. Crazy that mom still helped her son after all that.

Morning Routine reminds me of a story Roy Wood Jr told in his comedy special. He said his dad died when he was young and for 2 weeks after his death he could hear his morning routine happening as if was really there. He then turned it into a joke. But that stuck with me. Supporting the family must be an unstoppable drive in some men that even though they are long gone or on their last breath, they still go on.
