More Idris please!! One of my pet peeves is someone cutting in front of me and drives super slow. Especially those that turn in into the right lane from a side road.

Nice video, it's going to be tough highlighting just 3 without blood pressure exploding. One pet peeve I have is on the use of brakes on highways; a huge population of cars are automatics now. Now that we do not use the left foot for a clutch; it seems that everyone wants to use the right foot ALL the time. When you reach a bend, just ease off the accelerator, the car will slow down (cos you are not accelerating anymore!!), there's really no need to change to brakes.. unless its REALLY a blind turn (We have speed limits for that). I even see brake lights on when drivers are trying to overtake, they brake just before entering another lane...

I agree with Julian’s num 2, some drivers just don’t signal where they want to go and caused other road uses shock or to jam brakes !

Many drivers like to change lane at the last minute and assumed that signalling gives them the right of way. Before changing lane, they forgot to check if the lane is safe for them to do so.

Totally agree with you Jon. I think the gov should look into banning cyclists on main roads. The arguement of commuting doesn't stand if pmds can be banned, why can't cycling on the road be banned too?

  • @arnieman90

Julian mentioned this, but didnt list it as a point. Too often, the car behind speeds up after seeing your signal (they don't want to drive behind you). but they don't fully overtake so you have to literally slow down to let them pass, before proceeding with the lane change. More importantly, while we are often triggered on the road, do remember that people make mistakes - I've been both the "offended" and the "offender". Consideration goes both ways and let's agree that even good drivers have bad days. Hope this video encourages us all to drive better, stay safe on the road~

    1) Indecisive/Clueless Drivers who drive slowly, don't signal and just randomly switch lanes as if they're the only ones on the road 2) Getting horned by drivers behind when I'm the first car at right turn pocket but unable to see oncoming traffic due to being blocked by huge vehicle 3) Self-Entitled Cyclists - At least care about their own lives, like the vid mentioned. All it takes is one driver who loses concentration

    1. Cyclist dashing across at the very last second when you're making turn. 2. The road hogger who races to block you when you try to overtake from the left. And the road hogger whom everyone had to overtake from the left. 3. The tailgater when you're already driving 100km/h and he doesn't dare to overtake from left but just want to force you out of the lane. 4. The merging lane tailgating queue cutter. 5. The parking lot stealer who came after you but took the lot you were waiting for.

Cars not signalling has to be the most inconsiderate driving behaviour. Especially 1) when you are going to make a turn into the same road as them and they decided to turn left right before where you are waiting for them to pass through. And 2) when you are at a t Junction making a right turn and the cars driving in the opposite direction make you wait for them, only for them to make a right or left turn instead of going straight.

Guys, i am so surprised no one listed Road Hogging and Tailgating, though i suppose the cyclists point is a subset of road hogging. Road Hogging is an offence, and cyclists, if they want to be legitimate road users, have to share this ruling. Tailgating however, is not an offence, but I reckon it totally should. Both should definitely warrant heavy penalties, demerit points and fines where no accidents happened, not just when heavy accidents happen then charged in court. Lane 1 accidents occur every single day and how many of these we see can be avoided if motorists avoid RH/TG? Definitely my biggest pet peeve of all.

My top 3 pet peeves: 1. Road hogging - totally oblivious to faster traffic behind and especially oblivious even to ambulance with siren and lights! 2. Incessant horning - darn annoying. Just a toot for alerting others is enough but not to blare for a long duration. 3. Reckless road users be them drivers, riders, cyclists or even pedestrians. Yes, some idiotic pedestrians are reckless and they have everything to lose !

I cannot stand our LTA of not having countdown displays at major traffic light junctions. LTA gave the lousy reason saying promoting people going faster to try to beat lights, but cannot accept the reasons of ample warning of light changing. No wonder its getting more stressful to drive.

My pet peeve is the traffic lights turning amber and red too quickly and you have to jam the brakes, especially if there is a red light camera. I mean some drivers even like to chiong and rush past the amber lights, which is very dangerous for right turning drivers. We should have the Malaysian amber blinking lights to warn drivers of an impending red light.

Driver and road cyclists (sportive) myself, I have pet peeves for both. There are drivers-cyclists in Singapore who can agree to some extent. - Leisure, inexperience cyclists = no helmets/no front and rear lights/slowly cycle on the road = spoils the image = cycle on the pavement/parks is safer. - impatient sportive cyclists cross the red light, or they don't signal their intentions, spoils the image pisses me off. - from driver's perspective while cycling small grp of 2 to 4 keep single file or depends on traffic situations (take your own risk), big grp of 5 or more 2 abreast rides on 2/3/4 lanes road. Then when single lane single file and leave gaps in between so that drivers/motorists are able to overtake. For driving - No signalling of intention, not checking of blindspots, last min lane change - Getting horned by drivers behind when I'm the first car at the discrete right turn, zebra crossings, unable to see oncoming traffic due to blindspots or pedestrians crossing. - drivers/motorists who don't anticipate traffic situations/rules like single carriageway or last-minute exit from the expressway. Lastly is it takes 2 hands to clap, sometimes cyclists (alone or in grps) might look as those they take up the middle lane or middle of left lane. need to go straight, avoid left turn into expressways or sometimes avoid potholes/uneven roads/grilles. Other times, try to keep left as much as possible. At the end of the day is that cyclists and drivers, plan the route ahead and make decisions early and anticipate to surroundings.

    1. F1 racers who switches lanes 1 2 3 2 1 2 1 2 3 2 3 ... ... to overtake every car possible 2. Jaywalkers who thinks that it's their grandfather's road. Even taking their own sweet time knowing you're driving up against them, not afraid.

People who likes to park on the edge of the lot leaving little/no space for the car parked beside it to open the door...motorbikes who ride close to the edge of the lane and occasionally swerving in and out of the other lane... im not a motorcyclist but is this a norm?

  • @frostzone548

Lane splitting is a norm, riders like me do it to avoid getting under the cars of daydreaming drivers. With that being said, swerving is never right but I think u are just magnifying the fault of a few riders and committing to stereotyping. It’s akin to saying that all bmw drivers don’t signal just because we often see a lot of them not doing so. Just drive defensively, no point getting angry over riders who swerve in and out of the lanes. End of the day, if he die that’s the end of his life, but if u are the cause of his death u will have to bear the repercussions from killing someone.

What’s with this drivers who wanna u-turn and had to make a big swerve, I meant making use half of the second lane and then start u-turning?! WTF. I’ve understand if it’s a big lorry but a sedan?! What if a car driving on that second lane and this idiot driver do that?! Definitely an accident in the making! Are we taught to make u-turn that way?! To my knowledge, it’s a no. And yes, do check your freaking blind spots, just glance guys, no harm. And lastly yup, those not signalling! It won’t break your freaking fingers if u do! Finally, to those drivers waiting for their pax or wanna stop for awhile or even alighting your pax, do press those hazard sign signal light dude! Yes, those triangle red button! 🤦🏻‍♂️ Just saying... 😅✌🏼

My let peeve is definitely cyclist that ride in the middle of the lane. Come on im willing to give 1.5m but the entire lane is just ridiculous. Worst part is sometimes those foreigner cyclists are road bullies and punch or kick or intimidate you when they reach the traffic light. For gods sake please charge cyclist road tax for using the road, its just fair, motorcyclist have to pay too why not cyclist? Take the whole lane for all i care if cyclists pay the full road tax for a motorist and gets their bicycles inspected every year and pay parking charges.

I'm a road cyclist myself. For me, I usually ride alone or 2 of us. I will try to plan to take routes that are less busy, or has multiple lanes. Also prefer to cycle early in the, before sunrise where there's lesser traffic. Safer for me and for the drivers as well. Yes it is safer to cycle in the middle of the lane, but only do that when absolutely necessary. But yup when there's buses behind its really hard, like how do we let the bus go ahead, other than going up a pavement and letting it past... Only to realise another bus behind me again 😂
