MY STORY:
I am the CEO of Scooter's Lawn Care, Inc.: an award-winning lawn care, landscaping, and home service company with locations in central Illinois and southwest Florida.
I help others scale their lives, relationships & businesses on KZread, on the GROW by Design podcast, in 1:1 coaching calls, and in my coaching group GROW Comm.
I first started my lawn care business part-time in 2014, while working full-time in the autobody industry. In 2015, I quit my job (with a pregnant fiancee) and risked everything to go full-time.
By 2019, Scooter's Lawn Care, Inc. was an award-winning, seven-figure company in Springfield, Illinois.
In 2021, I once again started from the ground up with a second location expansion in Cape Coral, Florida. By month three, my team was hitting $50,000/mo in revenue - climbing up on $100,000/mo before the first year's end. In under two years, my second location was selling over $200,000 in lawn care & landscaping services each month.

Are you guy’s using a web developer or team for your website? What is your budget for online marketing and web development? Is it built on Wordpress or something similar? What strategies are you using for SEO? You mention having your name on multiple sources, any other tips? I’m starting from the ground up in a new city. Looking to build my business right from the start. Using Squarespace, little bit of a learning curve for myself. I’ve received a handful of quotes having an individual or a team build the multi-page website. SEO management quotes are anywhere from $100 - $300 a month. With most website building being quoted at $5k.

We are doing it internally now. I have always been super thankful that my wife is amazing and handles it all. I will say websites are more of a build well and update every 6 months type of thing. I hate seeing the companies that hold you hostage with a monthly seo fee. Our website is built on Wordpress. Our seo is all about having quality content that can be found relevant and push the rankings up as Google crawls its pages. I do think you quotes for the website being build are probably in line I would just want full ownership and not be caged to the monthly fee or it’s gone deal. Make sure whoever does you work you ask for references of other happy people. This will give you a much better idea of what to expect from their feedback.
