Because you don't get paid enough you stand up for yourselves or a at least should, I worked for supermarket chain in the UK for 28 years and after 18 years of constant cut backs to our pension and share scheme, Christmas bonus wiped out,loads of other benefits wiped out staff canteen turned into a private ripp off cheaper to eat at the wimpy and eventual removal to seats tables and "vending machines" my last 10 years was "no grovelling to customers" and they got as good as they gave,Show me respect and i will help you every was possible except "grovelling"

So glad I live in UK, never see this behaviour over here thank the Lord. Be totally stressed out. I'm polite to all retail assistants. I never take videos of people and yell at them, 1. It's bad manners and an invasion of their privacy and 2, we never had them in the 1960s. People knew how to behave in public back then. Going to be worrying about that little lad now, he must really hate going out with his obnoxious father, makes you wonder what the mother is like also?

If you were previously trespassed from a business/property, why would you go back unless you were looking for trouble. Walmart Karen Dad needs to calm down as his son looks more then old enough to handle things himself and take responsibility for his actions. If the teen can't handle things like this on his own he will never be able to make it in society, especially going places looking for trouble, but that is how he was raised based on his dad's actions. The dad was only looking for trouble, not to act like an adult and handle things properly.

The employee said oh well we've had a lot of theft lately so no exchange without a receipt. The employee called her a thief. If it had been stolen the system would have shown it being unsold. 😂

That is the rule otherwise the register will not balance out. But someone who pays with a card can only have the cost of the food returned to the card. -- Many people don't understand that this change was made years ago because people would buy food (highest i heard was over $100 in carry out) and 10 min later returned and wanted a full Cash refund because there was "Something wrong" with the order.

She's not allowed to do that, you know what that's called? It's called A ROBBERY ! . She lied to an employee by saying he started recording her and then she didn't do anything to him and he still recording her. She also told him to stay there. I don't know what conditions, or rights a security guard has on the public, in Canada and depending which province this was recorded in, so I won't speak on that. I agree that he's not allowed to record on Private property, and as far as why didn't he leave,...depending on trespassing laws wherever this happened,.. as I mentioned above, she told him to stay, so technically...he's allowed to stay. They can certainly detain you by stopping you from leaving the premises and holding you on the security office. They can’t arrest you or forcibly keep you but they can stop you from leaving to a degree. They can’t be physical but they can lock doors etc.. it’s a felony to steal from them too lol they go big. Some people just can't take no for an answer. If your phone number is in their system than they have a record of all your purchases and can use that as a receipt. That's what I do in case I lose mine. They have exchanged my car battery just by looking on the computer. She lied anyway first she lost it than it was a gift. Just throwing a temper tantrum because she can't have her way. 🙄🙄.

The employee in the Best Buy one is right. I work there too and we quite literally do not have that amount of money in the register to give him. If it was the same day of the transaction that's a bit different, but this is probably days or weeks later. We keep as little cash on hand as possible.

I can understand people paying for an item with cash only. $1400 is quite a bit of money to lay out in cash all at once but I suppose it could be someone who doesn't trust credit cards or banks. They should be prepared to have to wait for their refund and receive it in the manner the business can return it. I'm curious about the denominations of bills that were given over at the time of purchase. At the hotel desk I automatically check any bills over $20. Passing counterfeit bills and then asking for a cash refund is a real thing that happens.

I’ll add that a retail place isn’t going to make that much cash that easily available for security reasons. When someone pays with a lot of cash, most of it is placed into some sort of safe that cannot just be opened at any time. For instance, I worked at a place where, even when you wanted to open the safe, you had to activate a timer and then wait about a half hour.

Could you imagine calling that unit of a son "his boy" and calling yourself "his daddy"

That security woman with the accent I can't place was in the wrong and was out of line doing what she did. Who the Hell trained her? Was she even trained at all? She was incompetant and the guy had every right to be upset with her. She was harassing him! I hope she got fired, I really do.

I know this store as I shop at one as well. That Lady was completely in the wrong. I was also a security guard. By law she had to show her license which she didnt. Then the BS about him recording her first.. Some people get a badge and think they have the right to do whatever. Save on Foods needs to make sure the security they hire is properly trained.

WRT a College Degree vs a High School Diploma I’m a medically retired Junior Officer in The Navy. I worked with many fine people who didn’t have the opportunity I had to obtain a college diploma. They were dedicated hard working individuals who did tough jobs. The training some of these jobs require is truly amazing. Never did I think less of anyone who didn’t have a college education. In some cases - it meant you showed up in time for classes over a four year period.

@@welleffitthen “Educated fools” Many years ago, I worked with a guy who had 3 Masters Degrees in Engineering and was working on his 4th. He had zero common sense. He also looked ‘not smart’ (He had one of those looks that makes you think they are kinda slow). He was also really paranoid. He thought that upper management was spying on him. Not a bad guy, but just zero common sense.

People need to quit using fast food delivery using Uber etc. That shit needs to go away and disappear forever. I sure as hell don't want some stranger with my food in their nasty car no telling what they do to your food and then all the farming they do right next to your food. That's gross and sick. If you can't go get your own damn fast-food stay home and eat some ramen noodles.

If he went into a "dedicated" private business and asked he would have got his answer,But we have the same in the UK,A female shelf filler putting out Gillette and Wilkinson Sword men's blade's and a customer starts asking "stupid questions",I explained his gift he got 18 years ago is obsolete and what blade we have are the last, So mega king wanker buy a pack of 5, And a week later no blade's in stock,And i had to "speak to him", The store manager got involved and couldn't understand why the customer didn't understand the word obsolete and limited stock? Like buy them all as i suggested and not just 5

I'm pretty sure a store worker has no right asking to see someone's ID. That Walmart employee was way out of line. He was definitely harassing the guy in the guy had every right to call him a prick. Then his behavior afterwards just escalated and he should have been reprimanded or fired. I have Walmart employees ask me all the time to see my receipts and I just tell them you don't need to see my receipt I paid in the self-checkout there are cameras there, and I walk out. Regarding the one with the black guy that the lady got his name wrong: Walmart will trespass you over the dumbest reasons yet when another customer is getting irate and screaming at you and in your face, they sit there and do nothing but watch🤦‍♀️🙄. This man was not rude or hostile, and was not walking after her. So uncool how they treated him!

It seems to me that the people holding the camera phones are just as rude, most of them are just inflaming the situation with their inflated self righteousness. We only see the effect not the course.

No receipt -it stinks if you truly lost it but that's on you. It is absolutely not unreasonable to require one, especially if there have been recent thefts of that specific product.

Yeah tbh i agree that the situation is on the customer..a lot of times my store will allow a return anyways if you don't have proof of purchase but you get the money for the current price of the items...But some stores probably like big purchase stores ( home depot, auto zone, etc ) i can see requiring proof of purchase, period...And if you don't have it that is on you.

You can only request a receipt from someone if you have probable cause that they are stealing from your store. Otherwise you can deny showing them
