Sega as you knew them are done, these videos are purely for nostalgic purposes only, sorry to be a stickler. Wish things were different, but they screwed up monumentally two decades ago.

This goes to show that old SEGA died when the arcades died, because old SEGA was all about porting their arcade games first and get the best third party second, the first party of SEGA was all about arcade games., at least the japanese side, the american team was trying to do stuff like the western third party., i still love the "new SEGA" Yakuza and so on., but the heart of old sega was the arcades and the Dreamcast was the console to port the naomi games., but for the Dreamcast fans i want to tell you that the Dreamcast was released very rushed, Shenmue 2 is impressive but you can tell the Dreamcast barely could run it, and the port of Sega Rally 2 also showed the limitations of the Dreamcast., for real SEGA needed a Dreamcast 2 to be able to fight the ps2, xbox and gamecube

Sega consoles were too ahead of thier time for thier own good. It caused Sega systems to have short life spans. If the Dreamcast didn't die they would have to make a new console again. The lack of second analog stick, dial up internet and GD rom holding even less than a GameCube disc would have caused MAJOR problems for the Dreamcast with 3rd parties and heck even first party games. Could you imagine trying to make Phantasy Star Universe for the Dreamcast?

Sega Rally 2 was a rushed direct x port, there's plenty of graphically demanding racing games on the DC that run far better than that lump of lard. The truth is that nobody could compete with Sony's marketing budget, by the time people realised the ps2 wasn't nearly as capable as had been promised the generation was already run + won

@@Chelaxim dreamcast had built in dial up modem, it was the cable modem that was coming soon for it along with the DVD attachment if the system continued

just remember that GTA3 was suppose to come out on the Dreamcast, could you imagine what it would of been like?

Solid list. The House of The Dead 2 is way higher on my list though. Samba de Amigo would also be on mine. Played Virtua Tennis 4 on SEGA P-ras 3 just a few days ago. I just love the entire series.

I spent so much money playing Virtua NBA from 2000 to 2005, every time I walked by an arcade that has the game, I went in and played a few coins.

that virtua fighter 4 intro i miss so much, virtua tennis 2 i forgot sanchez and mary in the game

Virtua Fighter 4 is so good, easily in top 3 fighting games for PS2

i was already in my 20s at the time of Naomi and by then arcades were phasing out so I don't recall much of these.

Crazy how the best game got a PS2 port that was even better (better lighting and background effects), wow!

On the surface they are good games. There are three or four that are very good. The problem with Sega and Dreamcast (yes, Dreamcast was the problem with everything, although not the device itself), is that Dreamcas games were too arcadey. Sega hardly produced deep games like PS2 and XBOX, and people were already leaving the living rooms to play at home for more than half an hour. They wanted deep entertainment, and the Dreamcast represented superficial, immediate, and short entertainment.

Those games are deeper than 98% of the stuff on the current market. Unless you mean by “deep” short. But then again those games have high replay value and current games are heavily padded out or one touch experiences where you never play it again.

The problem with the Dreamcast is that consumer confidence was low after the Sega CD, 32x, and Saturn. The Dreamcasts library was great for only being out for a short period of time.

I actually love the arcade feel of dreamcast games. Though I didn't have dreamcast when it was released, but I understand how lack of proper 'home' games might have been a problem for many dreamcast owners back in the day.

Would love to see Under Defeat get a Nintendo Switch port Ikaruga was my second digital shoot em up on my Nintendo Switch first one was Raiden V i have almost 200 shoot em ups on my Nintendo Switch 2 of those shoot em ups are physical copies which are Raiden III and Raiden IV hoping they bring Raiden Fighters Aces to Nintendo Switch and Raiden Dx one day

Retroarch can also emulate Naomi. Playing MVC2, CVS2 and DOA2 on my steam deck is the fighting game fan’s dream.

Your emulation settings are wrong, most of these games are 60fps but all your footage is 30 (yet the game speed is normal). Probably vsync should be switched from whatever it is to the opposite as that's an issue depending on RetroArch/core version and may be what's affecting you here.
