Ever heard the Chinese country music group from Beijing china that goes all over the world playing American country music? Not 1 of them can speak English. They listen to the music and memorized the words And they are a great tribute band . It's just crazy that they can't speak English. As a matter of fact, celine Dion, when she did the song the power of love, she could just barely speak English at that time. Not even enough to carry on a conversation

In hindsight I'd almost consider them the Nirvana of reggae, most current reggae has as much Bradley Noel influence as it does Bob Marley DNA.

@@dashcamcalifornia5003 The line between "punk" and "pop punk" is pretty blurry. Rancid, for example, is a lot poppier than GBH, but they're much grittier than someone like Fall Out Boy. So where do they go? Are they pop because their songs are so damn catchy, or punk because they're legit punkers from low-income neighborhoods and their singer sounds like he has been shot in the tongue? For me, pop punk captures the bands like New Found Glory, Starting Line, Fall Out Boy that mostly sang about girls, and had especially clean vocals and production. The only bands on this list I'd consider pop punk are Blink 182 and Unwritten Law. This debate could go on forever though. Just offering my opinion.

Offsprings guitars had *edge* to them...almost nobody else's in that genre did at the time. Then they went major label, ditched their producer, and their edge completely disappeared on Ixnay.

Loved this one. I hope we get other decades for punk AND other regions. This should have had 'North America' in the title. To add a few contenders from Australia: Bodyjar, Frenzal Rhomb, 28 Days & The Living End. All played (and some still play) the Warped Tours and similar shows down here. Frenzal even released stuff on Fat. Then there are a STACK of great 90s Swedish punks bands. I was surprised to see none of them here. So maybe a Euro version would be great: Millencolin, Hellacopters, The Hives, No Fun at All, Peepshows, Refused, International Noise Conspiracy, etc. Burning Heart Records was up there with Fat and Epitaph for me in the 90s.

The 90s when my guitar journey took off in earnest. Played a lot of punk and ska in those days. That Pennywise bass line would always get played by various friends back then. We nearly had a band put together back then. We had two guitarist a bass player and the bass players brother could play drums. The drummer had a regular job at this small guitar company named Paul Reed Smith so he wasn’t around much 😁 Thank you for this walk down memory lane Rick and Chip.

Tom and Mark's side would be that Scott couldn't get it together while Scott's side is that he got cleaned up and they said you can't come back. If I recall correctly Tracis left the aquabats to join blink-182, or at least That's how Tom and Mark knew of Travis.
