Hey all Norwegian learners!
The language I'm teaching is not Bokmål nor Nynorsk. It's an east dialect and I don't think you will have much problem with bokmål after this. :) And everyone will understand this.
I am Norwegian, from Norway. Born and raised. I live in Oslo, with my husband and son.

Thanks! It's been very cool learning Norwegian from your lessons. I learned Spanish in high school and college and learned some Hawaiian words while I lived in Hawaii over 10 years ago. Like Spanish, I see some common words in Norweign. And I think learning Norwegian is much easier learning Dutch. You make learning Norwegian fun. May this small gift bless you and your family.

I am Dutch and learning Norwegian (Bokmål) is definitely way more doable when you already know Dutch, German and English too. Many words are (very) similar to these languages. Not surprising obviously since they're all Germanic languages l, but still :) If you wanted to learn Dutch you'll notice that it makes a lot more sense after learning Norwegian!

Hi, I'm just starting to learn Norwegian on KZread. Yours is one of several KZread video teachers I really like! It's so interesting that there are so many Norwegian words that are like English words -- you can see the influence of the Vikings' Scandinavian language on English. In school I enjoyed learning French, German and Latin. I'm an American woman and I live in the USA in Kansas.

Pat Stryker Some similarities can be explained by common roots, not necessarily one language's influence on another.
Mange takk for hjelpen til å lære norsk ....

You're doing this with a straight face (I know, because you're norwegian and this is usual). I'm finding this funny and laughing. I'm mouthing the words along with you though. Okay, I need to get back to work after this :)

ChenChen you’ve probably worked this out for yourself already, but for anyone else wondering I THINK the top one is Bokmål and the bottom is Nynorsk, the two spoken Norwegian languages. Correct me if I’m wrong, and also google to double check as I’m not 100% sure
Tusen takk lærer har jeg fått nye ord fra deg

Great vid! Takk skal du ha! It would help a lot if you put up the english translation (just infinitive). For me if I see the English version along with the Norsk, I can connect the two mentallty and therefore helping with retention. Du er den beste!

Hats off to those native Arabic-speakers and a nod to the Romance language-speakers learning Norwegian. As native English-speaker and fluent Spanish-speaker, I can't imagine the nightmare it is trying to pronounce some Norwegian words. Never mind the grammar. haha English makes it somewhat easy if you're familiar with various dialects (particularly northern British ones).
