The problem is that a ton of new open world games that are coming out all try to be the same copycat fantasy survival shit, it's a super saturated market at this point

I feel like this video was recorded ages ago and only released just now to add content for their "one a day" video. Since no mention of Dragons Dogma 2, and them referencing DS2 as having "one trailer only" when it now has 2, and it definitely comes out 2025, not 2024.

Avowed looks like Kingdom of Amalur and Skyrim had a kid.

I had no idea about the Gothic remake, that's cool. There were a lot of games from that era that I was unable to play when I was growing up that I'd like to circle back on (like Wheel of Time for PC). On another note I'm strangley intrigued by Project Mugen. The art styel, combat, and overall gameplay looks fun.

Where Dragons Dogma 2?

Enshrouded: massive map, Fable aesthetic, Zelda combat/loot, Valheim craft/building = bliss

I played the Once Human beta and i gotta say, it was a solid game, stable connection, with a good story for the moment, and the game discord was full of great people helping each other

Wow, someone really has something against Dragon's Dogma over there. Even without being interested in it, objectively, it is one of the major open world releases currently verified for 2024. Instead, what we got are a few games that, at best, only rumored for 2024.

Light No Fire looks legit good but it not the 1st game I encountered to be truly called "open world". What really sells me as "True open world" are those games that says "if you see that structure yonder, you can travel to it, even if it is the highest peak of the game. " The title is Xenoblade X. I just know it because I played it before way back 2015 and it does not disappoint.

Enshrouded is pretty good. Nightingale needs a lot more work. One you didnt cover that is really good is Soulmask. It has a Steam Demo running for 8 more days.

Playing Enshrouded now and absolutely loving it!

Assassin's creed red is the one I am most looking forward to. Star wars outlaws is also on my radar. Great video 👍

No Dragon's Dogma 2? That's a criminal oversight! Plus I can't wait for little devil inside, it looks like a very refreshing game in tone and art style, while still being familiar enough to know what I am getting. Light no fire and Stalker 2 are my other picks.

My biggest hype is Light No Fire. Why? Because if it works the way they're claiming, It'll be a huge step toward the future of games.

Where the winds meet needs to be on consoles aswell. Big potential in my eyes.

Enshrouded has really surprised me. Been playing the EA for about 10 hours over the past few days and I can’t put it down.

Ark 2 won't be releasing this year. Ark survival ascended is meant to ease the pain

My take away is that the majority of upcoming open world games have these ubiquitous transparent brightly coloured particle effects. Seems to be the go-to visual effect for this game generation

When I learned that the NPC behavior in the trailer may not have been scripted, it blew my mind! According to Rockstar's patents, they do their own thing now. Iguana guy needs money, so he's asking for it. Guy sees girl in car, wants to film her, so he does. All animations are generated in real time. Crazy! Also, I know this is nerdy, but I want to see the new water system in action too! lol

Enshrouded has been one of my favorite games this year and i love it more than palworld and its still very early! The building system is so complex

I’m praying hyperlight breaker is the game I’ve been waiting for. The movement looks nuts, the skills/ attacks look wild, only needs a killer sound track which it may very well already have and boom.

Surprised Dragon's Dogma 2 wasnt on the list, even though I'm more excited for Rise of the Ronin that same day, i still plan to play DD2 afterwards. Little Devil Inside looks amazing, STALKER 2 was looking great, but then they scaled down and the most recent footage looks pretty rough in comparison in both fidelity and frame rate.. i get their struggles because of where they live, but I'm hoping the final product looks better than what they've shown off a few months back

I'm excited to see a new Test Drive in the works. I cannot overstate how incredible the first Test Drive Unlimited was to behold on the PSP.

I have a request: could you display the title banner for games both at the start AND at the end of the section? Often, it is only in the middle of the section that I realize I find the game interesting; I need to rewind to look up the title and which platforms it's coming to.

Not gonna lie, I can't remember ever being excited for Skull & Bones. Kudos to those that like it, but it just gets exhausting seeing so much coverage of it

How was Cyberpunk's potential "nerfed" exactly? Yeah the last gen versions were a mess, but the current gen and PC versions have some of the best visuals on the market, and especially with the 2.0 update it's an absolutely phenomenal game. If the last gen version of Crimson Desert is crap you can just, like, not play that version.. but i dont see how it's existence would automatically imply that they're making compromises, its not that hard to just scale back the visuals. It's also a PC game, it's not like they don't have to develop it with lower end machines in mind there either.

I have high hopes for Avowed. Outer Worlds didn't land super hard with me, but I know Obsidian can work wonders, hopefully they gave them more money and time for this one. Besides, it's clear after Starfield that if you want a good Bethesda style game, Bethesda aren't the ones to go to, so it'll certainly be better than whatever Elder Scrolls 6 winds up being at the very least. I have even higher hopes for Hyper Light Breaker. Solar Ash has some of the most satisfying and smooth controls I've ever felt in a platformer, and of course their art style is always immaculate. I can't wait to have those tight controls in a game that's designed for me to play it longer than 8 hours.

about ubisoft and trying to force a service that we don't want, I think that having the game is not enough, I have around 1,300+ titles, but I can't play even half of them, my computer is from 2007, the most current console I've ever had I had a PSOne and I don't have the money to spend on something so expensive (especially in Brazil where a last generation console costs 4 months' salary and a reasonable PC practically 1 year, not to mention mandatory accessories, such as a monitor/TV ), especially for those who don't have that much time to play. What I think is the best solution for this are services like GeForce Now, it ensures that I play my games and it was the only reason that made me buy Cyberpunk 2077, I had no hope of my Core 2 Quad running the game, but Now I don't have to worry about that. Yes, it's not perfect and we still have some problems, mainly with the connection I have available in Brazil, but 10k games that I can't run versus being able to play the ones I already have, it's a much better business model in my opinion.

I love how there's like 5 games on this list that aren't coming in 2024

Looking forward to Ark 2 and Avowed! I mean, looking forward to a lot of them, but, for me, personally, I’m looking forward to those two, especially! 😊🎉 Maybe it’s just me being ignorant of a particular style or technique, but did the knife look backward in the Logan trailer? I mean, not that it’s a big deal or anything in what looks like a super-cool game with a character everyone loves, but I think the knife may have been backward (¿question-mark?). I’m not talking about ice-pick grip, because that’s for-sure a legit thing, but I mean the actual edge on what appears to be a single-edged, flat-spined Bowie-knife is facing toward the user-maybe there’s a technique for that, maybe for tearing back out again after a stab, but that’s not a thing to my awareness. Then again, I’ve just done some Kali, and that itself has tons of variations and distinct versions, so maybe I’m just talking nonsense and it’s a thing, lol. 😅

Enshrouded has actually been so fun

Rise of ronin definitely looks like game of the year candidate. Soooo good

I'm very happy that a good amount of these are just including onlime co-op and not going full on live service 🙌.

well we know now how bad suicide squad is. No tiptoeing around that anymore

I want open world games for characters like Iron Man, superman, hulk and thor

Kudos for mentioning Little Devil Inside, while watching this I was trying to remember the name of that game and whatever happened to it. 👍
