Yeah I'm a movie guy. The 1970s huh.... Vanishing Point, Young Frankenstein, The Deer Hunter, Apocalypse Now, Network, Animal House, American Graffiti, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, Star Wars, The Last Waltz, A Clockwork Orange, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, The Exorcist, Alien, Jaws, Chinatown, The Godfather to name a few from that Decade. They all affected me in some way or another....

Man that Bad News Bears film is among my faves of all time! I was in like 6th grade when I seen it and I was blown away by all the kids cussing and using all kinds of slurs that would never fly today! Also dig the American Graffiti Man such a cool film! Cant go wrong with anything Clint Eastwood was in during the 70’s! Here are some of my fave 70’s films: -The Warriors-I’ve watched it so many times -Billy Jack movies -Rollerball -Bless the Beasts & the Children-a movie about misfit kids at a camp that try to save Buffalo from being slaughtered -Meatballs-another camp film -Death Wish-Bronson was awesome! -Planet of the Apes franchise -Logan’s Run -Soilent Green-Charlton Heston SciFi -Longest Yard-my fave Burt Reynolds film -Hooper-another great Reynolds film with Jan Michael Vincent -Gone in 60 Seconds-the original -CC & Company-Joe Namath biker exploito film Just of the movies I was into from the 70’s Yeah I was a weird kid LoL

Great list! I'm glad you decided to join in. A Clockwork Orange is a film I've only seen once. Very disturbing film. I also lined up around the block in the cold weather to see The Exorcist during its initial run. I found the book to be more terrifying than the movie, although it did have its moments. The only movie that made me turn all the lights on after I got home is The Tenant (1976). I also remember seeing Andy Warhol's Frankenstein in 3D and then later on, his Dracula. Both freaky experiences. Joe Dallesandro was as American working class as it gets. But in the 70s and 80s he was living in Europe and made several films there, including Louis Malle's Black Moon. I am so glad Woody Allen decided to start filming in Black & White. He was one of the few directors to continue doing that even after the 1970s. Glad you included American Graffiti, Young Frankenstein and Chinatown!

That documentary on the cultural impact of the film that’s floating around on KZread is crazy, too …a movie that actually made people faint, throw up or leave to wait in the lobby is a movie that ain’t been made since. I will say I liked the original better than Redux - maybe Redux spoiled it for you. Cloris Leachman may have been the best character in Young Frankenstein - remember how you would always hear the horses neighing in the background whenever her name was mentioned?
