P!nk's "Glitter in the Air" performance never fails to strike me even after the countless times I've watched it here on KZread. It's powerful artistically, but the story behind it is even better: P!nk went on Ellen the day after that performance and she spoke candidly about how she'd never really felt the industry had taken her seriously over the years, as though many of them looked down their nose at her. Watching it with that in your mind lets you see it from an entirely different perspective. It's almost as though she were giving everyone the middle finger when she spun high above them and showered their tuxedos and designer gowns with water. That aside, nobody there in the theatre or watching it on television that night could argue her performance was anything short of breathtaking. P!nk nailed the live vocals while dangling upside down and ended it with a dramatic descent back to the floor in a pose that seemed almost Christlike. She then took a defiant bow, as though she felt she'd finally proven herself. She certainly did.

It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World performance tribute to James Brown by Christina Aguilera is one of the best live performances of all time in Grammy. The iconic shout to give respect to James Brown, the range, lows, chesty notes, falsetto, distortion of Xtina’s voice is insane. Plus you can never ignore her superior stage presence. She killed that performance and will be forever iconic in the history of Grammy Award shows ever.

MJ was winning Grammys and eURYTHMICs* just totally upstaged everything with a gender bending performance that shocked a lot of folks including host John Denver....
