    @@moorecreative9905 yep. I was a teenager when it was released in cinemas. and at that point slasher movies were not very popular as big studio releases. They were mostly subjected to b-movie direct to DVD type movies. I mean if course more high.budget ones were released but none ever did well. The genre wasn't completely dead but slasher movies were definitely not big money makers. Then scream came out and it was so original,self aware, genuinely well written, acted, and directed, that the slasher horror movie genre had a resurgence. I remember going to see it the first week it was in theaters and the whole theater was obviously enjoying the movie. It's one of my favorite memories of going to the movies.

  • @erindiazmclaughlin

    @erindiazmclaughlin

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for the spoiler. Actually I'm just kidding. It's most definitely a revenge movie. However, it's different from anything else that I've seen Nicholas Cage act in. He does an amazing job portraying the fury and the anger, and just the utter contempt that he has for these ruthless individuals that wronged both him as well as his unsuspecting wife. The scenes where he comes to blows with The Black Skulls are pretty f*(king cool. However, the Cult members are the one's that initiated the whole ordeal. In a sense. I wish he would have spent a little more time on the cult. If you know what I mean. Needless to say, he finished what he set out to do. He accomplished his goal. Great movie. Also, the fact that Linus Roache...King Ecbert of Wessex, from my favorite show, Vikings. Playing f*(king Jeremiah Sand blew my mind. I didn't initially recognize him in Mandy. However, once I realized it was him. I enjoyed the film that much more. The scenery/cinematography and the colors used in this movie are incredible. Great movie in my opinion. I'm certainly not a film critic. But I recommend that anyone reading this or watching the clip about Mandy. If you have the chance to check out this movie, definitely go for it.

    The Invisible Man (2020), Final Destination 5, and Wes Craven's New Nightmare! The latter of which I personally enjoyed due to its meta plot. As though Nightmare On Elm Street was just a movie with sequels, but explored how a movie villain can escape from the bindings of a script to terrorize the cast and crew responsible for his films. It was a return to form for director Wes Craven and then along came Scream another hit of his.

The infected are more like the infected in 28 Days Later which that as well isn't a zombie movie either. Also the creatures Romero's dead films aren't zombies either they're actually ghouls he even stated this in a interview.
