Uncle Phil and Din Djarin are great father figures of this list. I am surprised Smallville’s Jonathan Kent is not on the list. He and Martha adopted Clark when he came into their lives. Jonathan Kent loved Clark so much he would do anything to protect Clark, making a deal with Jor-El, supporting Clark in good and bad times, and giving his life so Clark could live.

Johnny from Cobra Kai. He became Miguel's father figure and through that experience, it made him become a better father to his own son, Robby.

Feeny deserves the #1 spot in my book, and that scene from "Papa's Got a Brand New Excuse" was one of Phil's top moments in the whole series.

Hopper and Eleven’s relationship totally came out of nowhere But man, it became one of the greatest relationships in the whole show

The fact that they announced #10 and I actually shouted “Hell yeah” my mentor was a mix of Ron Swanson and Uncle Phil…lost him in 2019. Incredible man, gone but not forgotten.

I always saw Robin Williams as a beloved uncle growing up. Whereas names like James Avery, John Ritter, Bob Saget, and Bernie Mac were father figures that were all unique in their own respective sitcoms that define themselves as what makes a dad. Miss those guys as they helped shape my childhood and teen years.

RIP Uncle Phil! Garriet Morris on Jamie Foxx Show was a good father figure aswell!

So many good Uncle Phil comments! I think that just goes to show how well James Avery played him and how much he put into the character. He was stern when he needed to be with his kids, funny when it was appropriate, taught them lessons, and helped his kids whenever he could if they got in over their heads. Now I have a great father of my own, but I always did love Uncle Phil and how much loved his family, even as a kid growing up. Rest In Peace James! :)

The fake #1 definitely should be considered a dishonorable mention. Thanos was abusive towards his adoptive daughters, Gamora and Nebula. Although he claims that he loves Gamora, his actions are anything but loving (actions speak louder than words, after all). Thanos forced Gamora and Nebula to fight one another in training, and he tortured Nebula whenever she lost each of these battles by ripping her body parts and replacing them with prosthetic parts. Heck, he even killed Gamora in favor of the Soul Stone! Yeah, it's definitely not loving at all. Thanos is a perfect example of a father figure that you CERTAINLY DO NOT want to have. Also... I should have seen #9 in the second half of the list coming from a mile away... MY GOSH I miss Yondu so... so much. 😢😢😭😭😭💔💔

I love Mr. Feeny as your top TV pick, but personally I’d put Uncle Phil ahead of everyone, TV and movies. Fresh Prince finale, I’ll never forget his last interaction with Will: “You are my son.” James Avery had sooooooo much range in that role. That’s my TV dad, through and through.

Happy Father's Day! The best father figures are Julius from Everybody Hates Chris, Bernie Mac from The Bernie Mac Show, and though I'm not a huge fan of this show, Danny Tanner from Full House. It seems like the best father figures in media are mainly from TV, mostly sitcoms.

It's a crime against humanity that you did not put John Schneider as Jonathan Kent in Smallville at the top of this list, much less at all. His father portrayal was so impactful, I often used him as a standard in being a dad myself. Not having him on this list is a massive insult.

Ben Healy - Problem Child before Tony Stark. Ben is Unarguably one of the greatest Dad's in Movies. Anyone who put up with Junior that long without leaving him duct taped in a Dumpster is Father of The Century.

Uncle Phil has not a great uncle, but he practically adopted Will as a son and guide him and protects him. Alfred is not a great father figure to Bruce but a friend as well.

Bill Cosby if you were just basing it on tv or movie

Mr. Feeney is absolutely the right choice but I’d like to submit for an honorable mention to Alan Matthews from Boy Meets World. He was an incredible tv dad that showed his vulnerabilities, his faults, and his mistakes with true dad colors. He was funny while still being firm on certain things and was a great father figure to not only his children but also Shawn and anyone else who was in Corey’s life. The episode where Shawn was being manipulated by a “cult”, Alan sticks up for Shawn and protects him as one of his own.

What about Johnathan Kent?

The disrespect to the Weasley's here is so uncalled for. Sirius was not the first parental figure Harry could look up to. He had shining examples in Molly and Arthur.

On the TV side, I’d add Dr. Aaron Glassman from “The Good Doctor.” On the movie side, I’d add Dr. Carlock from Temple Grandin. Because father figures who see past a person’s disability and bring out the best in that person are so important.

Honestly, the fact that Burt Hummel from Glee was not on the list is a big eff you. Burt Hummel was the ultimate dad

Dr. Cox from Scrubs should've been on the list. Even though he wasn't the father figure that J.D. wanted, he still taught J.D. pretty much everything he knew. At the end of the series, we see that J.D. truly did become one of the best doctors because of everything he learned from Dr. Cox.

#1 for TV was a great choice. No one quite pulled off the father figure on TV like Mr. Feeny, except for maybe Uncle Phil. For movies, I would have made Iron Man #5, Alfred Pennyworth #4, Sirius Black to #3, Sean Maguire #2, and #1 is perfectly fine with me.

I would've swapped Uncle Phil for Mr. Feeney, but I'm just nitpicking.

I don't agree with the whole list but one that should have been included was Captain Bobby Nash from the series 911.

You might add twentieth-century Doctor Who: The first three definitely, Tom Baker less so with a smaller apparent age difference (though Colin Baker contrived to be paternal in similar circumstances) until his last few stories; Peter Davison was more the John Boy/Gilbert Grape senior brother dealing with multiple siblings (until his last story). In the 21st century reboot, the Doctors have been required to have near-romantic chemistry with companions (returning Sarah Jane had to confess a thing for her original Doctors) except for Peter Capaldi professing a 'duty of care' - where he let the ball crop badly for a couple of them and had a Dad's Horrible Friend figure with 'lovable alien Nardole'
