Final fantasy 7 is so overrated. And yes I was there on the original release day to pick my copy up and I still play it today albeit on pc now. MGS is amazing crash bandicoot , gta and gta2 plus gta London 👌 driver 👌 I put stupid hours into pandemonium that was cool jumping flash epic. Medieval with sir Dan fortesque. I was joking about FF7 btw but there are better games just saying.

Tekken 3 and Siphon filter 2 will always hold a special place in my heart so many hours with my brother

I thought the story was bland and the combat annoying. Way too long, too.

Something you guys should know was that the first Gran Turismo was extremely difficult to make. Lead designer Kazanori Yamauchi explained the grueling work conditions he faced, stating, "It took 5 years. In those 5 years, we couldn't see the end. I would wake up at work, go to sleep at work. It was getting cold, so I knew it must be winter. I estimate I was home only 4 days a year"

Soul Reaver Legacy of Kane is my pick. The whole series needs to be brought back to life.

And I still haven't beaten Xenogears, Brave Fencer Musashi, Legend of Dragoon, Legend Of Legaia, Vandal Hearts, Alundra...

Some of the best games ever made, played and beat them all back in the day. Legaia was a hidden gem and loved the arts system. I wish all these games had an ease of access for new systems. I was so glad to see LoD finally hit the PS store. I really want Lunar to get on newer consoles, i know its on android, i want Lunar 2 as well Jean godmode is awesome.

@@mick2287 I meant top 10, mainly a personal preference, but to be fair, it’s mainly a bias, I’m sure those other games are just as good, I just had fond memories of Pac-Man world, even if some of the mechanics haven’t aged the best

I used to play Spider-Man 2000 not on ps1 but on my PC when I was a kid. Brings back so much memories.

I enjoyed it and its sequel more than Spider-Man 2 on PS2 for some reason. I remember being blown away by the Mysterio boss because it was the first time I've ever faced a giant boss (in a 3D game, at least)

Glad to see Ape Escape on the list. I owned a game store during this era and recommended it to everyone. Definitely think Syphon Filter 2 belongs on this list though.

A lot of the games on ps1 were always fun to play as a kid. And still are today. Growing up in this era I personally preferred these types of games over the games today that take on a realistic likeness. With PS1 games, you could easily make a Top 50. Here are some of my favorites that did not make the list. Pandemonium! Loaded Jackie Chan Stuntmaster Banjo Kazooie Time Crisis Walt Disney's Hercules Jonah Lomu Rugby MediEvil Overboard!

Tomb Raider 1 and 2 might be my faves. They’re almost an evolutionary dead end in terms of genre, basically a 3d spiritual successor to Prince of Persia where every little bit of platforming needs to be meticulously planned out. It actually made 3d platforming feel harrowing and treacherous in a way your modern 3d platformers just don’t.

Grant Turismo 2 and both Tony Hawk games (and Thrasher: Skate and Destroy with it’s much harder difficulty due to the controls) were my college years!

It would've been nice to see Tomba! get some love

Castlevania Symphony of the Night was my favorite game for PS1!

The PS1 had a side scrolling shooter hidden gem developed by Square back in the day. “EINHÄNDER” is criminally underrated. Not to mention its soundtrack was years ahead of its time.

I’ve played Crash Bandicoot: Warped, Spyro The Dragon, maybe Gran Turismo 2, I’ve played Tekken 3, and maybe Tony Hawk’s Underground Skater 2. I’ve seen my older brother play Metal Gear Solid and Spider-Man.

Good list, missing some really good titles, franchises, Dino Crisis, Parasite Eve, Syphon Filter, Rayman, Medal of Honor and more but a good list focused mainly on the big bangers.

SPYRO was UNDERRATED!!! I was the only one of all my friends to actually love it. The first GTA was dope too… had the Birds Eye view. So easy to run over people. U can see everything. I miss it.

Tekken 3 is just simply Goated. My other favs are games such as Crash 3: Warped, Final Fantasy 7, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, Smackdown 2 and game series like Twisted Metal, Gex, Bloody Roar, NFL Gameday etc. IDK there's just so many I just enjoy and I wish gaming would be as good again as the glory days in the 90's & early 2000's.

TOMB RAIDER WAS MY SH*T!!! I was freaking addicted to that game. It was a demo that came with the PlayStation. It took me forever to beat the game but it was so awesome. The final cave was nuts. It went from rock climbing, shooing away bats and snakes the whole game… to a whole ass T-Rex lmao literally. Came out of nowhere. 😭 you win the game when you kill the dinosaur lol good times.

YugiOh Forbidden Memories: Own ruleset with focus on fusion, a fantastic soundtrack and some off the hardest challenges you'll find. The story is nothing special but it's well presented and you can really see how much love and effort went into this game (f.e. everyone off the 700 cards in the game has a 3D model with it's own sounds, and two different attack animation just to offer you a completely obsolete feature that you can activate at will or completely ignore). Tomb Raider (played 1, 4 and 5 as a child but revisted the others recently): It really makes you feel like an explorer. there are unforgiving challenges behind every corner but it feels really great to beat. I love the stories, the objectives and lara croft is defenitly one off my favorite video game protaganists.

My favorites are Tomb Raider 2, Resident Evil 1, Spyro the Dragon, Darkstalkers 3, Toy Story 2, Bugs Bunny Lost in Time, Marvel vs Capcom, Crash 2, Rival Schools 2, Dino Crisis 2, Gex 3 Deep Cover Gecko, RE2, RE3, Time Crisis, Xmen Mutant Academy, KOF99, Legacy of Kain, Pocket Fighter, Tomb Raider 1, Tomb Raider 3, Road Rash, Spider Man, Legacy of Kain, Medal of Honor, etc. There are sooo many amazing games on the PS1!!

Banging collection, I’d probably add Coolboarders 2, GTA, Hogs of War, Worms Armageddon, Sentient, Treasures of the deep, Theme Park, Theme Hospital, Duke Nukem 3D, WWF Smackdown 2 to this collection.

This will always be my favorite gaming system. i still play my PS1 to this day, i hope many others do too!

One of my personal favorites was Star Ocean. Lots of weeks trying to unlock all those secrets... Anywho, how about some games that, at the time, were PC-only but made the jump to the PS1? Like Command & Conquer, C&C: Red Alert, A-Train and X-Com Ufo Defense. Oh yeah, and Warzone 2100.

I was a big fan of Micro Machines V3 not a well known game but I loved playing it

Happy the video started with Driver. Took a night of friends and I trying to beat the tutorial but after we did the game was awesome. Was a great spiritual prequel to GTA 3.

You left out Medievil for some reason. Has it aged well? Not really. Is it a bad game? DEFINITELY NOT. It's still great because of its artistic style, humour, level design, and its protagonist. Returning to the Kingdom of Gallowmere still feels like an epic journey

Very solid list! It’s pretty easy to make one with the PS1’s fantastic library. A good amount of these are still among the best games ever, let alone best for the console.

You got the year for Tekken 3 wrong, the Arcade original was released in 1997, but the PS1 Version was released in 1998.

I remember playing crash bandicoot by a friend because her brother had a ps1, I fell in love with the game. After that my parents bought me a ps1 and a small tv. I've been a Sony Pony ever since 😂. I even bought the crash trilogy remake which I'm playing in my ps5 to relive my childhood. Also I loved Syphon Filter 2 &3. I want a remake for ps5!!

My top best ps1 games crash bandicoot, Tomb Raider 1-5, HarryPotter, Tomba 2, Twisted Metal 4, Vigilante8 offense, Gta 2, Resident evil 1-3 so much more love it

As a ps1 fan this list doesn’t do the console justice, but it’s what you expect from a top 20 ps1 list for the most part

Thps 2,legacy of kain, Spyro, and crash bandicoot were my faves as a kid and I only played metal gear on a demo but it was one of the best I ever played.

Yu-Gi-Oh Forbidden Memories is an underrated PS1 gem. You never see it on any of these kind of lists. Other ones are Time Crisis, Overboard, 007, Colin McRae Rally, FFVIII, THPS3, TOCA, and Harry Potter.
