When I watched AHS for the first time I was generally shocked that it took me so long to realize that his character was based of the Columbine shooters. Evan Peters did such a phenomenal job bringing his character to life.

It's a disturbing character

I know he is a serial killer but after his backstory, I can't help myself for feeling a bit sorry for twisty. A mentally ill guy who wanted to make everyone around him happy but was falsely accused of child molesting what gave him so much despair that he tried to end his own live.

Honestly, this show had Emmy worthy performances nearly every season. Jessica Lange was brilliant throughout, Basset and Bates were mentioned already. Evan Peters gave one of the best performances ever in Cult. I thought Zachary Quinto was worthy for NYC. Sarah Paulson might be my favorite actor ever, I can't think of a performance from her that wasn't excellent. Dennis O'Hare is always great. And they continue to bring in new actors that nail it. I can't think of a show that has this great a track record of acting from a main cast and from all the actors who pop in for a season here or there. I'm not even a fan of the horror genre in general, but this show is in my top 20 favorite shows at worst. Possibly top 10.

She portrayed the character so well it made me want to throw up. (Because of how evil Lalaurie is.)

For me, the two best villains were in the same season, Asylum; Dr. Oliver Thredson/Bloody Face, and Sister Mary Eunice. What was brilliant about them is that they both seemed like the only good people in Briarcliffe.

I think the intent wasn't necessarily who were the worst people, but who were the best villain characters. In the case of characters like Arden, March, etc the characters are memorable, not just what they did. While those two are only remembered for what they did to Pepper and their baby.

Fiona should be in top 3. Not only is she a great villan, she's the best AHS character in general (besides Sister Jude and Lana Winters). And Jessica played her FLAWLESSLY. No one else could've played that role, she was mesmerizing!

That Alma from Red Tide def deserves a spot on this list or at least an honorable mention. That little girl was pure EVIL lol. She had no soul whatsoever.

I was pleasantly surprised by Jamie Brewer's characters in AHS. She is one of very few actors with Down's Syndrome in the industry.....and she does a great job in all of her roles on the show!!!

18:35 Zachary Quinto was so good on the show I wish he would have been in more seasons!

Lily Rabe's performance was outstanding, but by sheer cruelty, Arden is the scariest.

American Horror Story sure is a great series. We hope to see more content like this.

One of the best actors of his generation. He deserved an Emmy multiple times. Dahmer, AHS: Cult and Murder House. How absurd is it that one show has had Paulson, Peters, Bates, Bassett, Lange in the same cast for multiple seasons. NTM the rest of the cast, O'Hare particularly stands out for me. Never one of the biggest characters, but every scene he's in, you can't take your eyes off him. He's a brilliant actor IMO.

I loved 1984 and I was so sad with what happened to Benjamin but I am glad he to an extent got a happy ending it always makes me cry

Lily Rabe is so underrated. She's an INCREDIBLE actress and i can't see anyone playing Sister Mary Eunice the way she did.

I'd also argue that Tate wasn't a psychopath or a villain, since it was explained in canon that he was essentially possessed/manipulated by the The Devil/Evil of the House.

The fate of Stanley is a tribute to the Tod Browning film "Freaks" and what happens to the villainess in that story.

The Aliens from Death Valley should've been mentioned too. The execution may be campy, but those creatures are ruthless and kill everyone that is against their mission. I feel like Belle Noir could've been included too if Red Tide was longer and we got more of her (she was already sucking blood out of babies).

Papa Legba was a really cool and well-done villain, but I just can't get over that he's named after the wrong Ioa. He's very clearly based off of Baron Samedi, who is also a Ioa but is _very_ different from Papa Legba. To give a comparison, it'd be like Hades from Greek mythology showing up on the show, in all his Lord of the Underworld creepiness... but everyone calls him Hermes. It's just incorrect.

Great list of monsters from an excellent series. Yes on sister Mary Eunice. Personal favorites were Fiona Goode,Doctor Aldan, Kathy Bates Slave owner. Dandy Mott’s death scene, all the Evan Peters

I always wanted to get into this T.V show.

I forgot the callback to the murderous trapeeze artist's fate in Todd Brownings Freaks, being amputed and twisted into the horrible Chicken Woman. The same makeup effect is used to portray Redwood's fate..

Lol Bloody Face broke my heart. I loved Dr. Threadson so much lmao. It made me not trust anyone anymore if I liked them in AHS. The killer in Hotel ALMOST got me but I had to remember Dr. Threadson.

Mary eunice is creepy AF😨😨😨😨😨

Only Tate, Constance, Sister Mary Eunice, Bloody Face, Dr Thredson, Marie Laveau, Jude Martin, Sally, Madison Montgomery and Michael are memorable villains

Madison wasn't really a villain though. Like yeah she was a terrible person but she had a great redemption arc. Until the time travel deleted all of that

All of Kathy's villian roles are badass fierce iconic and legendary no wonder why she won a Emmy and a Oscar for her villain roles in American horror story and misery

Okay but these actors ATE THEIR ROLES ❤❤ I still get sad when Twisty is brought up due to the backstory, but overall amazing actors!!!

Half the villains from 1984 are missing where’s Mr jingles and Richard rameriz (I know I spelt that wrong)

Sister Mary Eunice will always be my number 1. Even despite knowing she was possessed it still came out of left field how harsh she could be because she still looked sweet. I love the idea of evil not looking evil and she did amazingly with it

One of my most favorite villains was Marie Lavoe as while she did have a reason to do what she aka she was taking vengeance on the people who wronged her she did cross the line with the whole killing kids to extend her life, and keep her youth, and punishing the descendants of those who wronged her who weren't aware that their scumbag ancestors screwed her over.

Does anyone notice that actors and actresses Sarah Paulson,Jessica Lange,Kathy Bates,Neil Patrick Harris,Lady Gaga,Angela Bassett,John Carroll Lynch,and Finn Wittrock always portrayed the villains(or sometimes heroes)in American Horror Story.

Lance Reddick was Papa Legba? He had such an amazing range!

"Cult" was the only season that I couldn't get through. I don't remember how many episodes I did watch but it was very early on. The country was suffering a real-life horror story following the 2016 election and I couldn't sit through a "fictionalized" version on the small screen (no matter what happened to the season's "Big Bad"--mainly because we'd be stuck with the real-life horror for another couple of years). The coulrophobia and trypophobia were disturbing (especially within the show's context) but they paled in comparison to Peters' character--that was the ONLY character he played in the entire run of AHS that I would never want to spend even 5 seconds with (hell--that was the only character in the entire run of the series that I'd never want to spend any time with).

While Coven is probably my favorite AHS season, what they did with "Papa Legba" was pretty disappointing. In the sense that they SAY it's Papa Legba but, everything visually about the character is clearly based on Baron Samedi. Papa is usually depicted as a VERY old man, wearing a straw hat (think Luffy from one piece) with a cigar/cigarette/or spliff. The fancy dress, the top hat, the skull face paint and dreads - all Baron.

James Patrick March for my money is the best villain in the series. Evan Peter's is a powerhouse in this performance and the disgusting things he did were just phenomenal haha
