    Good locks and hard to pick but not impossible. Same with bumping, difficult but not impossible. The Everest (C123, etc.) cylinders are even harder to pick. For UL Pick Resistance get the Schlage Primus cylinders, Medeco or Abloy.

    B60 is not Kwikset but its not much better. The nice thing about these deadbolts is their capability to swap the cylinder for more secure kinds (provided they fit). A b60 is ok if you can't get these models

    The B660 also has anti-drill ball bearings (not sure about the 560). I was able to pick my 660 with the original spool pins, so I added serrated pins. I'm embarrassed to say I haven't been able to pick it yet with a combination of serrated and spool pins. Need more practice. :)

    The B560 still has it. It's the B60 that lost the latch. I imagine Schlage realized the B60 was encroaching on the B560's turf, so they knocked it down a bit.

    Can these be ordered with the old "e" keyways and security pins? Need to upgrade several deadbolts from Weiser and Kwiset low security units. It's been a while, but I seem to remember that Schlage had a less common "E" keyway that only regular locksmiths carried and that it was set up for 6 pins vs the everywhere sc 5 pin set up.

    Upgrade to any of the Schlage Everest cylinders. (C123, S129, etc.) Very hard to pick. The old “E” (C, CE, etc. ) is now called the “Classic” cylinders. Also, the corner Hardware store usually doesn’t have the Everest key blanks in stock and if they do their key machines are not accurate enough to duplicate them.

  • @CommandComm

    @CommandComm

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@24hrMrLocksmith depends on the machine really. If they use something like a rytan then they may be able to duplicate them if you bring blanks but at that point just go to a real locksmith since most hardware stores don't calibrate their own machines, there lies the real reason for being inaccurate

    We have stricter fire codes in North America. If a firefighter is doing his job and gets into your house and in a pinch if he needs to go through your house and get out the other side, he does not want to be looking for keys or a pick ax to exit that door. Thus a Thumbturn.
