Janny Wurts’ Wars of Light and Shadow is eleven books, and the final book just came out a few days ago, so your timing is excellent if you want to start it. I love all of Mark Lawrence’s trilogies that I’ve read, but The Library Trilogy is something very special so far, and I think it could be a great starting point. Thank you so much for your interest in The Edan Trilogy! You know where to find me if you have any questions about it or ever would like to chat about it. I wish you much fulfillment from all your reads!

Great to hear about the new Janny Wurts book! Looks like i'll have my reading cut out for me haha :) Have you read all of them as of yet? Thanks for your thoughts on the Library trilogy as well. I'm super excited to get into those, and the Edan Trilogy! :) Looking forward to discussing it more with you as I get into the first book this summer!

@@PhilipChaseTheBestofFantasy That's fantastic Philip! I love the idea of taking a time with an ambitious series like that, and letting things marinate a little :) And I would love to reach out and discuss some Edan and books in general! I'll let you know as soon as I finish the first one! :)

I remember reading the 1st chapter of The Ministry of the Future out of curiosity… and was NOT prepared for its harrowing portrayal of the impacts of global warming on wet bulb temperatures, and the sheer cost of human lives that happens as a result. I definitely want to check out the rest of the book!

This is a great idea for a video! Of the authors you've mentioned, I've only read Ray Bradbury. Even then, I've read just two of his books - Fahrenheit 451, which I enjoyed, and The Halloween tree . . . unpopular opinion alert . . . which I did not enjoy. I definitely want to read more from Bradbury, especially Something Wicked This Way Comes.

Thanks so much! Feel free to use the idea, and would love to hear about your TBR authors as well! :) Glad to hear you liked Fahrenheit 451 - that one and Something Wicked This Way Comes are both so intriguing to me.

Arthur C. Clarke is fantastic on the "big ideas", but he doesn't seem much interested in well developed characters. That's usually a deal breaker for me. But he takes me on such grand adventures that I somehow can overlook it. Childhood's End is a fantastic and quick read! Don't look up any info on it, you don't want to be spoiled.

I kknow the feeling! As a character first kind of guy, I'm usually put off by concept only books - with some exceptions (I felt similarly when reading the Remembrance of Earth's Past trilogy!) Thanks for your thoughts on this one, looking forward to checking it out! :)

The Saxon Stories is a great place to start with Bernard Cornwell, I loved The Last Kingdom. I have The Warlord Chronicles on my shelf but haven't started it yet. I bought A Song for Arbonne by Guy Gavriel Kay last week, it was only £1 so I thought it would be a good place to start as he's a new to me author too. I started reading Sci-Fi last year and started with Childhood's End, it's so good, 2001: A Space Odyssey was great too. I have some of his other books on my shelf, I'm looking forward to Rendezvous With Rama. Hyperion is phenomenal, Dan Simmons is such a talented writer. His prose in Hyperion evoked so many emotions, I can't speak highly enough of his work. Carrion Comfort is amazing too. Sorry for the wall of text 😂

I really want to read some Bernard Cornwell! I couldn't agree more on Childhood's End & 2001: A Space Odyssey. Two all time favorites. And Hyperion is unforgettable.

Awesome video Nikhil! You should definitely add Feist to your list, but I am very old school. 😀I have heard incredible things about Lonesome Dove and I am also not familiar with the western genre. I adore Ray Bradbury and am working through all his works. I would recommend Something Wicked This Way Comes and The Illustrated Man as a short story collection. Fahrenheit 451, is an important novel, but not the best place to start in my opinion. The Terror was my book of the year 2023, I am intrigued by Hyperion. As a Stephen King constant reader you really need to check out Robert McCammon. Swan Song and Boy's Life are both masterpieces. Wow, that is seriously young for Michael Crichton! 😂

Thanks so much Cliff! :) I love old school too, and haven't read enough of it tbh (oldest I've read is LOTR and WOT :)) Thanks for letting me know about Bradbury's works! Maybe I'll start with Something Wicked upon your recommendation - great idea. Ahh I've heard such great things about The Terror (not to mention on your channel!) Love Robert McCammon - both Boys Life and Swan Song are all-timers for me. Stinger is very good as well, and Gone South is great the first two thirds of the book if you haven't checked those out haha :)

@@Shelf-EsteemI have read a handful of McCammon but nothing has come close to Boy's Life and Swan Song. I did not realise you were already a fan, my bad. 🤣 If you like D&D fantasy I would highly recommend Dragonlance, kinda simple yes but awesome characters and so much fun.
