Honestly, the restriction for Mereum ability being "you have to eat the person who's ability you want" is an incredible restriction for anyone that isn't a Chimera Ant, or a cannibal, I mean, 99% of humanity just wouldn't be able to manifest that or act on it if they did, Mereum just happens to like eating people😭

Nen abilities do act and form according to the user, so someone who wasnt a cannibal or chimera ant surely would not have developed that ability or restriction. its not necessarily a conscious decision to be made.

@@seancollins6572 Sure you *can* but 1) you would probably not do it unless you had a predisposition for it and 2) Nen is still very personal, you can copy anyone's ability, restrictions included, but chances are, unless you're Ging, your version will be weaker (at equal level of Nen) because Nen abilities are made to fit the personality of the user. Plus people are also talking about subconscious nen abilities. Neon did not develop her ability on purpose, Meruem didn't either, it came to him innately.

Also possible he could’ve known of the technique without knowing what nen was. Maybe through hearing someone in the family tell of it or just seeing the aftermath or while it was happening but not seeing the dragon itself fully. If there’s a way they can make afterimage clones just by walking, not crazy to think he could hear of this technique and not think it was fake even though not understanding it.

Know what I just realized? All of the original spider troupes nen abilities are extremely specific in one way or another. To such a degree, that it mimics Chrollo's planning skills against Hisoka. So it makes me theorize, what if when they first learned nen as kids. Chrollo first learned and then directed the others to specifically develop theirs, in order to make a crazy detailed plan to go after the people that off'd their friend.

@@christophercrafte Exactly my point. And from what we have seen of most nen users they usually develop their nen abilities around their personality etc. Aside from Uvogin? None of them inherently have nen abilities that match their personalities. They do however have nen abilities that when used together as a team? Is a crazy combo the likes of which, is just like Chrollo’s planning skills we see in action. So it makes perfect sense for chrollo to first develop skill Hunter after their friends death, then instruct the others to develop specific nen abilities that he can use or can be used together for a complex plan.

For me its just dumb for Gon to awaken nen again, this isnt Naruto. There are consequences just like Kurapika lifespan getting shafted Nanika only lift some of it but half of it still remain.

I'm hoping he reactivates it but when he does he get a different nen affinity. He's grown alot since the start plus he'll have time to grow as a normal person so he when he does eventually reactivate it he could get a different affinity.

In the many things that are great about nen, is Togashi's attention to the details that make the abilities more believable. True that we are in a fantasy world with "magic" like all other shonen and suspension of belief is certainly required and expected, but we are also in a world where humans live and basic things still apply. That Togashi thought about things like ensuring a technique protected a user from both the heat and the lack of oxygen during massive fire release is levels of detail we normally don't get. That Togashi thought about developing the tragedy of Killua's past tortures to explain how he can withstand high voltages without becoming incapacitated (a fact that doesn't even escape other in-story characters) is another of many examples. Most of the time we are given no explanation as to why a character is either 100% immune or nearly so to their own abilities which can annihilate anyone else.

that’s also as strong as the meruem pitou had known at that point. after being reborn, meruem probably became many times stronger in which adult gon would have no chance. something to note though is that gon only made himself as strong as he needed in order to kill pitou. if faced against meruem, he could possibly have gained enough power to kill meruem the same way as pitou albeit with higher repercussions. that last part is a little speculative though.

@@eddyg1960 i mean sure, but nen contracts are known to give more power the more severe the condition is. in this case, it was all his future nen and potential. if he did a nen contract where he wanted enough power to kill the king in exchange for his certain* death, then that would give him more power than the contract he pulled off with pitou. in the first place, gon didn’t sacrifice his nen for power, only the ability to use and grow it. because nen is life force, it wouldn’t be possible for him to live if he didn’t have it at all.

10:54 small correction, this was explained in the anime and manga as well. Reflex from pain doesn't go to the brain, practically all limbic reflexes only go theough the spinal cord. Godspeed pre-programs basically any threat to be responded to as a reflex-worthy stimulus and detects those stimuli through his aura first and not his skin.

There are many theories that gon only lost all his nen progress, and that his auro nodes closed again. So there still is a chance that we could see him return with nen, but if this were the case I think he would open his aura nodes properly this time, not force them open like he wing did to him and killua

Before anyone starts going nuts. I haven’t kept up in a long time, so I’m just going strictly by the information in this video. There is only one thing I question, and it all depends on the level of the 4th prince. If he hasn’t trained or isn’t a strong nen user. Arguably all it would take is an attack with a wide range that he couldn’t escape within 10 seconds. When Feitan uses his ability whoever is aware of its strength immediately runs. I doubt someone who isn’t fast or has knowledge of it could not get away in 10 seconds. Or even Killua moving at high speed, even if you saw the future, doesn’t mean you have the capability of dodging something so fast. I’m sure there’s plenty more. But it’s just a thought.

its awesome how nen can be applied to our world as well, meditation is literally Ten, when doing manifestation rituals you're using Ren (to set the intention) and Hatsu (to project your intention into the universe). transmutation can be attributed to stuff like cooking (the famous "cooking with love" saying) while enhancement can be seen in bodybuilding and fitness. manipulation is more abstract but it can be seen in well manipulation of a person (although only mental due to the 3d limitations of our world), conjurers and emitters are the hardest to grasp since the things they do are kind of impossible in our world...specialists you ask? easy, tarot reading (or any divination and psychic reading).

Don't forget bungee gum was set to resuscitate Hisoka after his death, giving him a power boost so that he can make his bungee gum firmer to create new limbs that can be both bouncy and sticky for speed boost and camouflage

If Nanika is indeed and I from the dark continent. That place has to be WILD as hell in terms of how strong you gotta be. This also put into perspective how incredibly powerful Don Freecs is.

A lot of things you said are flat out wrong: Netero’s ability is the 100 Type Gaunyin Boddhisatvah, not whatever you said Zeno and Silva are recently reviewed by togashi to be Emitters so is Mereum but that is a forgivable mistake it’s very recent info Now as far as those percentages on the nen hexagram, they only signify the efficiency you can naturally use the abilities at. So say I am a manipulator and you are an enhancer but I have way more nen aura in the way Knuckle measures, I could theoretically do the same enhancement techniques at the same potency as you but burn 40% more nen aura in the process. The percentages have no bearing on actual attack potency, only the efficiency of using nen to enact them, which is the real reason only masters with extremely high amounts of nen aura can mix and use most of the types freely. This is the difference between characters like Castro and Netero for example, Castro had not reached beyond his limitations and burned all of his aura fighting Hisoka, he wasn’t weak he was highly inefficient. Now with Chrollo and all specialists, they don’t use 100% of every type, Chrollo could use any ability but not at the same efficiency of the original user, Kurapika’s specialist ability is to make all 100% of other nen types as efficiently used as a master, for the sake of stamina.

You have emperor time backwards the scarlet and yes are just a thing he can do. It is one of the requirements for using emperor time. Emperor time is specifically the specialist ability of being a perfect generalist

Pain Packer is primarily transmutation. He transmutes pain in power, in the case of Rising Sun that power is in the form of heat. There is a conjuration element in that he conjures a suit to protect himself from his own ability but that is secondary. You noted the restriction of having to take damage in order to use the ability as a downside, and it is, but as we know in nen restrictions increase abilities exponentially, the ability is so powerful because of its restriction.

Last of the major ones, I think Emperor Time should be considerably higher since *it* is what makes Kurapika use all affinities equally not the Scarlet Eyes themselves, (they just turn him into a specialist) and that's pretty frickin overpowered

You misunderstood something Specialization not necessary have 100% guaranteed on the other categorires, that's the specialization power of Kurapika only, his specialization power makes him being able to have 100% on every category. Specialists are kinda vague on nen hexagram because each case is one case.

U should create a fan manga page where we create a manga in the comment section or live stream on a certain day. We could start by making a power system and cast of main characters in which you narrate it. We just need a few artist. it would be a great #community project 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

The way I see it, there are two properties of the Nen system that give it its nigh limitless flexibility: 1) The "contract with conditions" are determined by the values of the person creating the ability, meaning that, while the tradeoff may seem to be objectively overpowered or underpowered, or that there may be similar abilities whose strength differs widely, from the perspective of the nen user designing them, they work out to be "fair".
