Five minutes into the video and I'm sold! You have gone very deep into MA. Thank you for the densely informative video!
Your videos are great, my question to you is one I haven't seen anyone answer hopefully you can with your experience. As an example if I'm going to look at two moving averages like the 20 & the 200 and speed them both up to HULL, If I'm using the "rate of change" as you suggest to compliment if using HULL, do I need to change the settings for the "rate of change" to the same settings as the 20&200? Out of the box in TD Ameritrade the 20 HMA is: price is set to "close" length is "20" and displace is "0" Out of the box in TD Ameritrade the 200 HMA is: price is set to "close" length is "200" and displace is "0" Out of the box in TD Ameritrade the rate of change is: "Length" = 14 and price is set to "close" So does the rate of change length need to be changed and if so to what? thank you for all your help.
Thanks so much, I'm taking your FFS course and I love what I'm reading.... I feel like a pro trader already.... Keep the good works up... These are rare germs..

Very informative! and excellent presentation as usual. One of the best tutorials out there. Thanks!
VERY informative!!! Although I can say that as a beginner, I did not grasp every bit (I never took to math functions in school for example 😞), BUT there was definitely a eureka moment for me that I think I will be testing out. I probably sound like a total noob when I say this but Ím starting to see the value of having two sets of two closely paired MAs such as MA5 with MA10 and MA50 with MA89...the first two using one set of colors (say, blue & teal) with which I can predict very short-term average price vectoring...... and the latter two using a second set of colors (say, orange & red) to help ground me in the current trending direction in case of sideways action! I like your serious toned approach to the topic...definitely removes the off-putting stimuli produced by trader vloggers who think they need to put on a seminar speaker voice to appeal to an audience. Definitely got my subscription.

Wow Im glad YT algo suggested this guy. Ive watched a few of his videos and Ive learned new things. Experience serves me well but equally knowledge does too. Books, school, and articles that Ive read and still theres always something I forgot, maybe I interpreted it different, or just dont remember it the same as Im watching his video! Im going to tinker with MAs tomorrow on my algo's to see if I can improve them. Just when you think you know it all and BAM, knowledge smacks you! lol! Keep up the good work and Ive subscribed & liked!

Which one is best between Hull moving average and KAMA. I have forward tested KAMA on 4H currenvy pairs 80 times. Started in profit. Now it is around 0. So i guess HMA should work better then?

I am interested in the Rate of Change indicator you used with the Hull MAs. Where can I find out more?
@paragjyotideka1246
2 жыл бұрын
it's a very simple script, you can create an indicator by yourself. Just giving you the main line of code roc=change(hma(close,12)) plot(roc,"Rate of Change") It will oscillate between positive to negative value. Buy when it becomes positive, sell when it touches zero. (although it's not that simple, because although HMA is smoother than other MA's, it fluctuates too much, so every change with create a signal which might be a false signal.)
Thanks . it gave me great ideas.
How's it going Ed... It's K from Brooklyn... Long time no hear.... Enjoyed the video coming from a mentor that use to tell me to get my moving averages off my screen... Lol... However, very interesting information you disclosed to us.... I'm in the process of getting back into trading and will try and incorporate this MA tool into the mms, ffs, n nts I use when trading... I would like to see n gear your opinion on the TTM Squeeze that alot of traders use now... in which they use the bollinger bands, keltner channel, n mac d or oscillator to determine a consolidating moment in markets before a huge move...
@fractalflowpro
3 жыл бұрын
Just to be clear, I still think there are better tools than moving averages. I just created this video to show some of the properties that they have and some of the problems as well. There are onlt very specific situations where moving averages would work. In fact, I want to introduce people who are stuck with these types of indicators to new and more reliable tools. I've never heard of TTM squeeze...
@kaevasco7971
3 жыл бұрын
@@fractalflowproyes I am not a big fan of MA's but now that you disclosed it it will be stuck in my head n I am going to try them out here n there with my other tools n see how it goes.... TTM is when the bollinger bands move into the keltner channel revealing consolidation before a big move... And an oscillator like a mac d is involved to indicate which direction the big move will go.... Not sure of every little detail cause it's new to me... But I used it n it works occasionally with my main tools....

@@kingjames2226 TradingView.com of course. This is the defacto charting tool for beginning FX traders. For trade execution you can use MT4/5, for charting tradingview is much better (TV does have order management integrations with big name brokers but many don't use them as their spread tends to be on a higher side)

@fractalflowpro

There is no best period setting because the market produces nonlinear price vectors in terms of time and magnitude. A "best period" implies a fixed window lenght that fits all market scenarios, which is impossible.
