I grew up with all this music😭😭😭

I became a Kpop stan in 2011 and so this video was like walking down memory lane! I remember at least 80% of the music and videos. My first Kpop video ever was Super Junior Mr. Simple and Super Junior continues to be one of my favorite groups. So many songs, groups, and artists I have forgotten over the years❤ it is fantastic that this video exists because we can show newer Kpop stans what Second Generation was all about and they can hear the unique sound Kpop had at the time. I will definitely keep coming back to this video for the nostalgia!

2011 I think is the golden age of kpop. There are a lot of hit songs.

This is the era where downloading is more popular than watching yt. Streaming back then is alien to us. this is during my first year high school. We listen to all kpop groups. Not unlike today.

Cry Cry (ver2) Always loved both versions. Nicknamed this one Dance version. 22. UGLY 2NE1 had some amazing fashion. What a crayz time foe K-POP. 21. How different are the two versions? 🤔 11. We Were in Love Happy to see this one high up. Certainly a beautiful song. 10. Lonely One of the best 2NE1 songs as it features purer vocals. 9. Tonight Blew my socks off in 2011. We never thought BIGBANG would end. 2. The Boys Wait, WHAT?! The Boys was 2011?! @^^#&@%#%@! 1. I Am The Best Ladies, you were the best! I recall this being the first time I ever heard a K-Pop song used in a western ad campaign (for computers?) The number of views on this MV is staggering.

The Popasia TV show started in Australia in 2011, so many of these videos got played a lot on Australian television (the show sadly got cancelled in 2018, just as K-Pop was going mainstream).

Personally, you can't talk about 2011 in K-Pop without mentioning the drama Dream High. They really caught lightning in a bottle there with that cast (IU was fresh off Good Day, Suzy and Kim Soo-Hyun became SUZY and KIM SOO-HYUN with this, Bae Yong-Joon came out of retirement for this, I could go on). It's because of Dream High this was the year I took the leap into K-Pop and never looked back (miss A, IU, 2PM and T-ara were naturally the ones I started with).
