I ordered coffee from Onyx. In terms of marketing and website shop they are perfect, but coffee quality is just poor. One coffee out of eight was acceptable, the rest finished in dustbin. In one coffee was a small stone, which almost destroyed my grinder. No more. Thanks

@@HansProbs I agree, but right now everyone is on the ultra light bandwagon which Onyx isn't. I'd rather the roast taste right than just to fulfill some fad.

I would really recommend calendar coffee. Really good, clean, fruity cups

The Australian recommendations are so suspicious: For the Australian roasters - Ona is just boring and safe medium roasts. Code Black used to be good but went way darker over the past few years, when I first tasted them 3 bags they were fruity and complex I tried another in January and they were straight medium to dark roast. Unfortunately for them I had the exact bean roasted by another roaster earlier and it was amazing. From Code Black it was just all muddy. Seven Seeds is just blended charcoal last time I tried. Proud Mary should be quite a bit higher, it is the same range that is sold in Australia as in the US. Monastery Coffee is not even on there and is easily my go to along with mot espresso aficionados in Australia. There are also 2 or 3 roasters above those that made the list.

Heart at 16 is WILD. I’d do Prouds before Heart imo.

Hex is legitimately excellent. I had three of their coffees at Villager and they all hit. Plus they're really nice people!

The real question is who shouldn’t be on that list? I’ve had Five elephant over the years and it’s always off tasting , grassy, baked, acidic.

Ive had coffee at ONA. It's not even the top 10 in Australia that I've had - let alone the world.

Cafe experience is nice. But I wouldn't say its an elite experience.

There are many amazing Australian roasters that haven't made the list because they aren't bankrolled enough to be on the world stage. The ones listed would be like 8-9.5/10, there are still lots that are 9-10/10.
